  1. Has anyone had any experience with the tire inflators that will add air to a set psi then cut off or let any excess air out when you check them? I want to try and get one of these for the air compressor. Thanks
  2. In Texas I could never find any in salvage that worked, same problem with them all they either lost vacuum or wouldn't set at all. The rebuilt units from Napa are okay but mine didn't even last a year and half and needed a new one. Of course that was right past the one year warranty!
  3. Actually the servo you have pictured is nothing like the one on my 307, but it looks exactly like the ones on my V6 Turbo Riv's. Maybe the 4.1 V6 used that one too.
  4. To be absolutely sure you'd need to do the electrical diagnostics on the sytem. It could be any number of things including a vacuum leak. But if you want to buy a "refurbished" one the only place I found that could get me one about 3 years ago was at Napa. And even then they had to look it up under the 5.7 Diesel engine. It didn't show up under the 307. Give me a shot if you need any help. I've worked on mine before.
  5. Yes but your fuel gauge won't work. The digital dash uses a different fuel sending unit. And the fuel sending units for the digital units start to malfuction the more you mess with taking them on and off. At this time no one rebuilds or repairs them!
  6. Bravo Paul - excellent information and visual aids!
  7. Ship were did you get an igloo for cars?
  8. No problems on this end either.
  9. I'll have to pull one of mine out of the 83 cars and see if I can do this. I'll try to take pictures when I do this for all to see.
  10. Bob The part number should be 25519224 for an 83. I need two myself I found some at Collector Auto but they want $150.00 for one, NOS. The 84/85 version is 25524794 and is still available from Buick. One of the differences is the 84/85 just has a series of blades, where the previous versions had blades and a couple of wires that would plug into the fuse box. maybe the 84/85 version can be retrofitted if you study the wiring schematics in both 83 & 84 service manuals? I'm going to also check into it. I know the LPS connector at the fuse box is still there in 84 as it was needed in 83 for the chime module. I researched these and found that most of the problem is foam that deteriorated and makes the sound so low you can't hardly hear it. door bell chimer - TurboBuick.Com Sure wish we could find us someone who's a wiz at electronics to repair these things... anyone?
  11. Hello, on my 4x original mile 84 T-type car it's getting hot! I can drive the car around town without the AC on and the aftermarket temp gauge fluctuates around 198 to 210~ I can also drive it on the highway with the AC on and it's still hovers around 203 to 210 or so.... but drive it around town and when you stop it climbs real quick to 215 and the highest was 225 then I shut off the AC. At that point it usually drops but not too quickly and doesn't usually drop below 212-215~ Numerous people have asked is the fan clutch working? I've also heard that the fan clutch might not kick in till it gets aroud 230? Does anyone have any input on this? Everything on this car is original 1984 stuff, yes the radiator seems to have sufficient flow and the radiator hoses are both hot so it's moving fluid. Thanks
  12. I think it looks Cadillac now too, but then again I'm still confused what look Buick is going for, espeically with their interiors. I can tell you that it might be a nice looking car I can't see any of our past Rivieras in it at all. There's one thing I noticed at 2005 Eureka Springs, if I get a look at any year from the right angle I can see styling that each all have in common here and there. Not seeing any of that in this one - that doesn't mean that it isn't nice looking

  14. Charlie I do not have one of these cars but try this link. http://forums.aaca.org/f177/supercharged-engines-95-96s-242926.html
  15. Charlie - That same question has been asked and answered on and off on this forum and the other two discussion mediums we use. I'll post the link to the responses in the appropriate thread.
  16. I enjoy doing it and don't mind if I don't have a car to fuss over.

  18. You should be, be sure you call me 1st if you ever decide to sell.
  19. No Riviera T-Type only came with the "Riviera" insignia on it. This was from the factory. They never had the Turbo "6" insignia on them, maybe the GN's had the turbo "6" insignia.
  20. I'll be there. Hope I'll get to meet some of our members from out West.
  21. I don't know about the crease or gluing the padding in, but I've see the underside of other hoods with missing padding and it looked like there had been some glue used.

    Classic Buick

Swift, that's great that the kits work. Now I'd like to see one done on an 85 and in some sunlight. How well do you think the caps you put on will hold up to years of elbows, sun and heat? Let us know & Thanks
  23. I'm sure I have one at home or can take a picture of mine.
  24. I am wanting to work on the sound sytem in my XX car soon. I'll need to send the radio off to get some repair done to the display and some knobs but I'm also looking for a shop that can add an input port on the front so an ipod or satelite radio can be plugged in. I've seen our radios rebuilt on ebay with this feature added I just don't know who does it. Also what are good replacement speakers for these cars? I think I remember the last info I had was they were 10ohm speakers and those are hard to find. Maybe 8ohm were easier to find. I just want to be able to get the original radio repaired and put the same size speakers in so it sounds really good. I don't care for any amps, kickers or any of that stuff like that. Any ideas? Thanks
