This is my first rebuild! engine be rotate balanced ,bearing clearances kept down to minimum, high output oil pump kit,all valve stem seals exh/int valves-etc.I run a synthetic engine oil now for heat resistance and anti carbon buildup in the turbo Thanks
  2. This isn't for a T-Type car, thanks.
  3. I need front, back, and sides Riviera emblems rechromed. ED--- Mr G's does not do electroplating.
  4. So who does rechrome on plastic emblems?
  5. I'll have to look when I get home, can't see ebay at work ya know that is a no no!
  6. Not mine. For that kind of $ the power antenna better work! 1983 Buick Riviera XX - Indy 500 Pace car - Ultra Rare | eBay but it's interesting the tag says #168...
  7. Don't forget about the recent HAIL damage!
  8. He just emailed me this youtube video.
  9. Bruce they are discontinued and replaced with a universal antenna. Cost is $189 !!!
  10. Bruce what did you end up doing to get your fuel gauge and climate control fixed? Thanks
  11. WARNING unless you like taking your fenders almost completely off -- Do not buy the following cheap crap power antenna. It's made by Metra Electronics and is the same, only power antenna I've seen aftermarket sold online and in most all auto supplies. I purchased on in March 2010 and in 3 months it was grinding the ribbon teeth because the limit switch had went out. I pulled it and replaced it with another one and a year later this one isn't wanting to come up. Sorry if it seems like I'm bitchin, which I am, but I'm sick of these crappy electronics we are sold. Just trying to keep anyone else from having to go through the same difficult process of switching these out. Make sure you find a power antenna made by a different manufacturer and not model AW- PW22. That said does anyone know of a source for other power antennas? Car's going to paint Friday and I'll have them switch it out while it's there. Thanks
  12. Not mine and I have not seen this car. I've tried to get the owner to take some more pictures showing the car but he's not bothered to do so. Now it sat in our hail storm last month and has damage. He started out asking about 4 or 5k for it before the hail. 1984 Buick Riviera T Type 44,000 OG miles Story is it's Grandpa's that the grandson inherited and is now interested in a different car! Such a shame it got hail damaged!
  13. Thanks for the info! all of that is on the shopping list.
  14. YES BF is for B and C body styles of your year +/- a few years. BF in my 82 service manual shows it's for b/C body lines except for wagon. So hunt you a height sensor off of a B & C body style on the internet or call one of the part locator hotlines. I am not sure but I think B and C was the big Buick/Olds/Caddy's Good luck-Jayson P.S. Send me some pictures of your car I love the Park Avenue!
  15. I'm about to tackle repairing my C60 manual air conditioning. I believe it's already been converted. Was working fine then the compressor locked up. I've got a well seasoned AC guy who's coming over the house to point and tell me what to do. BUT any suggestions from any of you? I've already heard to change the condensor and flush the rest when you change out the compressor. Let's start a discussion I'm ready to learn something new!
  16. I have to have the engine rebuilt in my 84 Riv Turbo. It's a low mileage 40k engine with a lower engine knocking noise, not sure just yet what it is. Any suggestions on should I just get another rebuilt engine from the auto supply? Go back to a Buick dealer for a crate engine? Send it off to Jasper or is there maybe anyone else close someone can reccommend? It's in the Southeastern Oklahoma-North Texas area. Thanks as I've never had to have one of my engines rebuilt.
  17. Have you checked the salvage yards for other Big Buick/Ols/Cadillacs from the same time frame? I remember in the ELC section for my Riviera there are two digit codes on the height sensors to tell you what body they go with. Delta 88/98 Regency/Deville?
  18. Paul: Yes the Free Riv believe it or not is the only one that's close to being done! It will be the wagon getting me there! It's kind of like my Harley Mafia rod as my Dad calls it! I'd love to work on your wiring harness if it wasn't so freaking far to get to your house! I love tinkering with indepth things like wiring etc. I think I'm just going to send it off to Jasper to be rebuilt.
  19. Just got an update. The bad noise is still in the bottom engine area after accessories have been disabled. He's taking the engine out now to see if it's crank, rod or main bearin, piston rod. CAN anyone suggest a good engine rebuilder if I want or can get my original engine rebuilt? I can't imagine what happened, 40k original mile engine! :-( Jayson
  20. UGH I'm jealous! I just got a call that I might have some crank shaft problems with mine. The guy is checking into it now. I finally had to bite the bullet and send mine 2 hours north to my Dad's mechanic. Older 80/90's Buick dealership mechanic-- and good old country friend of the family from way back. I'm hoping to finally get this one worked out soon. Don't think it will make it to Branson but the Free Riviera will! Jayson
  21. This and the next picture is of the hard top made into convertible Ed was referring to.
  22. You may have just found a cure for the 80's model cracked steering wheel blues! Thanks
  23. I am not 100% but I think you just need to get into the mechanism behind the headliner area and check the penduleum/inerta lock. You can probably find a new inerta lock from another 80's model car in salvage. My passenger side does this same thing on one of my cars. I just haven't torn into it yet...waiting on taking the headliner down first.
  24. Ed ---where did you find gas at $3/gallon? lol
  25. I had the reservoir replaced on my 85 about 3 years ago.
