  1. Hey all, With the chassis off to the blasters I made a starthaving a good look at the body. The back ( where the luggage rack is or should I say was ) is all bashed in from reversing into anything and everything. The doors look in pretty good shape and as far as rust goes, rear wheel arches, bottom of front cowl and front inside where the timber floors go. So not too bad in that department. I took a few shots inside the car to get an idea of what it looked like and proceeded to rip out the old lining completely. Pulled out the windscreen hinges and rear seat hinges. Found the rear window winder but the other side is ceased up and I may have to rebuild it. Got some good shots of the rear bump stops for the doors too. Cheers Ian
  2. When I had the floor blasted, there were no signes of repair or panel replacement. Unless the floor pan was replaced. Hmmmmm....I keep haveing a look every time I see a 34. Ian
  3. Bernie, Great progress and I too can't wait for the first fire up of the engine ! You mentioned you can't replate the motometer main body as it is very brittle. What about those placed that do the spray chrome. Its suppose to look like chrome and withstand heat. Anyhow I'd just thought i'd throw that idea into the pot ! Cheers Ian IM WITH BERNIE TOO.....ALL YOU GUYS ON THE EAST COAST....LOOK AFTER YOURSELVES !!! ( and your cars ! )
  4. Jason, Interesting ingo on the tool kits. Again, a few of my friends came over with their 34's the other weekend and I sussed out if they had tool boxes in their cars. Both have Richards bodies and both have tool boxes. I took photos for you as I know your interested in this. Also, where their tool boxes are located in their cars, mine has the solid steel floor. Anyhow, food for thought. Cheers Ian
  5. No probs ken....take your time as I have a million things tDorianDorian
  6. Back to work on the Dodge. Repaired, cleaned and fitted the timber support for the sunvisor panel above where the front windscreen will go. Also I fitted the front windscreen. Slotted straight in after I got my brother to help hold it up. Next job is to tackle the fender welt. Cheers Ian
  7. Thanks Tony but all good. This was a post that I got the photos and a second lot from you and Ken. Cheers Ian
  8. Hi Bob,I don't know if I've offered this to you but a while ago there was a 36 dodge on eBay that had a full body off restoration. The listing had over 50 shots from every angle and I saved them to my computer so your welcome to them if that helps. Just shoot me a PM. Cheers IanIan

  10. Saw this and thought a few of you might find this funny. If she stuck her foot on my car I mightn't be too impressed !
  11. David, I intend to coat the front suspension components, bell housing and gearbox with POR15. Ian
  12. Hello, When I had to make this decision I did have conflicting opinions about which way to go and I can see the merits of both. When I got the chassis done it was basically two times. i.e. the blaster went over it twice, the etch primer twice and the coater twice. So far I haven't had any issues ( like Keiser ) and no problems with bolt holes. It is good however to hear what other members say and experiences they have had along the way. Plesae keep posting as everyone learns along the way......especially me ! Ian

  14. G'day Ed, What a brilliant find. Just think...1915. Another car saved and being looked after. I've seen car that have had thousands of dollars work on them and then just sit in a yard and rot. Its nice to see an old one going to a caring home. Keep us posted. Ian
  15. I've attached what I could find which may not exactly be what you want but will give you an idea of what is available. I'll keep looking as I have quite a bit of stuff to go through. Regards Ian
  16. Thanks Ken, I wont be able to get my head through the door if you keep that up !!
  17. Hey all, With the body off the chassis I was able to get to a few other brackets that I had seen under the car and remove and tag those. Also removed the battery holder and springs. Found a sort of foam buffer around where the petrol filler tube goes into the tank. You can tell by the rusty chassis that there will probably be a bit of pitting in the frame. I'll send the chassis off the the powdercoater as well as the running board brackets and that should be a good base. Cheers Ian
  18. Thankyou so much. I can now see which way and location of those little brackets. Many Thanks Ian
