the springs are probably definately worn out, but these cars werent made to be sporty really, more for comfort so i cant really figure if its soft, or spongy or is it like driving a bathtub full of water. you could do coil overs, or adjustable Konis or air shocks if you wanted depending on what u wna spend

I got the info about my 16V TC from the Chrysler computer at a dealership and it says a few things i was wondering if were true. It says the factory wheels are 15 x 7, is this true, i thought they were 15 x 6 at best. It was says Bilstein rear shocks?? could that actually be true. and i was wondering why it says 2.4L and not 2.2L why do they label it a 2.4L motor?

Mopar Gas-adjusts are just i forget, i think Gabriels relabeled for mopar. Sachs are the originals. you could get KYBs or any good strut and be fine. nothing is gonna be the original but its not a performance car so, any stock gas strut, less the white box brands, should be fine and perform ok

I need the plastic center woodgrained console cover that houses the seat switches and defrost if it isnt cracked
-
I have a block-off plate, so its a pre-commonblock
-
Thank you, that is what i needed, now i can ID mine maybe tomorrow
-
Well, i never had to ID a commonblock motor before, never had one, had TIs from 84-87 and a 92 TIII motor which is a commonblock but a lot of diff parts on it that this motor. couldnt tell you the diff between a commonblock and a standard one for my life, and ive never heard it discussed when it came to these cars. i figured it wasn't a commonblock, but i guess ill have to find the build date and have my friend look at it, he'd know
-
its not a confusing question, maybe its the wording, i don't know if the 89 motor in my TC is a commonblock motor or not, so i dont know if its a commonblock oil pan or a standard one. i have a good dent in mine and am going junkyarding tomorrow and would grab the correct pan to replace it if i know which it has

Does the 89 Masi Headed motor have a standard 2.2L non-common block oil pan or does it have the commonblock pan.

if you could take a picture of wood grain piece id appreciate it, mine if cracked own the cemter so it looks like crap. if the booses are bad no big deal i can repair them. i could use it either way. also what would want for it. my email is rip-it-up@excite.com. also would like a piece of leather to cover my console cover if possible

i think you are thinking of the Z34 Lumina or the Grand Prix STP. none of them can even find an extra 284 for their cars. i wonder really about this
-
my trans doesnt go into reverse for some reason. havent investigated really, but it gooes into everything else just fine. it just doesnt go into the position for reverse and i dont know why. wondering if anybody had diagrams of the internals at all. the service manual was useless.
-
Looking for diagrams or schematics of the 284 Getrag tranny in the 16V DOHC TC. any help would be appreciated, havent found anything other than non-serviceable and nothing in the gm forums either

Cruel Trick by Another TC Owner??

sounds pretty funny, thinking you might find something, trying all that time and then coming up just wasting time. -
I know for sure that i need a valve cover gasket as my spark plugs when i got the car were fouled severly with oil and the wires just soaked in it. I know they are NS1 and ppl say you have to make them, but does anybody have one they might wna sell???
-
I didnt buy the TC with any hopes of keeping it together, I got it for a steal, bought it non-running and it took gas and plugs to get it going. not a real fan of convertibles, I like sportscars and hatchbacks. I have a 84 and 92 G-body, was only looking for a 87-88 Shelby Z or C/S Daytona to put this motor in. Seen a few Rampages and omnis with them in and even a chargers, Looks like it belongs under the hood of one of those. If i keep it together its only because cutting up a rust free car is just wrong.

i dont know what you are trying to imply, my TIII motor and valvetrain have never been an issue for me, i think the TIII is one of the best motors built, its just the pple that cant take care of them correctly. ohh well i have both 16V odd ball heads now, wonder which will perform better in my daytonas now?

would you have a center console cover in decent shape and the wood grain looking center console section that houses the seat switches. also lookingfor an umbrella and tool kit -
do you have a decent console lid and decent driver side floor mat. also looking for the driver side chrome trim piece that goes across about half way down the door. i guess i can buy new window squeegees and the chrome piece of the door if i have to
