I have used Mineral Spirits and a cloth to clean the white walls off of the 1915 Buick. It has Gehrig tires on it. Most would say they're running on borrowed time. Still round and pliable. I'm going to run them until they pop. The old 15 Buick does not go fast enough to get in much trouble with a flat.

I've heard tell about old timers brush painting lacquer. A guarded secret as to just how they did it, and how they got the highly polished shine that they did. One old friend told me some of them used shark skin in the 1800's and early 1900's.

Don, When did Case drop automobile manufacturing to focus on ag equipment?
Al
Case never stopped focusing on farm equipment. Producing automobiles was a side line. International Harvester did it also with their own design. Relatives of John Deere had the Velie automobile. All three of these companies main focus was producing the best farm machinery that they could.

Peter Gariepy changed the title to What antique car did you drive or ride in today?
Peter:
Thank you for correcting the English this thread title has labored under for all too long.
I would grit my teeth each time I saw it.
P.S. I took the '72 F-100 to the dumps and the feed store today. I'm the original owner - it's been 51 years now. I still enjoy driving it after around 700,000 miles
Never did get no A fer spellin or grammer.. 😜🙃 Dandy Dave!

Matt from Diesel Creek was there with his rescued D8H. You can watch him on You Tube rescue some of these old relics. My wife and I watch him often. My wife thanked him for the time he spends loading video of working on all sorts of old stuff. Most folks have no idea the time it takes to do the extended programing that he does to bring this content to many viewers around the globe.

If any one of you folks ever wanted to adopt one of these machines and learn how to run and maintain it this is the place to be. If I lived closer I'd be there all the time. So many machines, So few operators. He's a picture of Willy Tedesco teaching a young lady how to run a Bucyrus Erie with a face shovel. Willy can run about any shovel you put him in. His home base is in Woodstock, CT.

I used to live about 18 miles from the location. I was there about 40 years ago. We had the bi-annual Cumberland Valley Steam and Gas Show here outside of Chambersburg this weekend also.
On your way home if you swing by Chambersburg we could visit. We are 1 mile west of Route 81 and 3 blocks north of Route 30. (Lincoln Highway)
Safe travels.
We rode Rt. 80 Home, and it was a good part of last night. Did not think you would have wanted to see us in the dark. We will need to get together again soon Larry.

Delco 1102287 Generator
in What is it?
Posted
Most Caterpillar generators are gear driven. Not Caterpillar. I could see this on a farm tractor. Oliver, Massey-Harris, Huber. etc.
