    Welcome aboard Kevin!
  2. Agreed! I bought a whole parts car because it had a really nice horn bar. :>)
  3. both of my 65's use two keys.
  4. NOT MINE 1964 65 66 BUICK RIVIERA REAL WALNUT WOOD STEERING WHEEL GRAN SPORT Great shape...very rare. very nice option for your show or driver Riviera GS. Optional in Standard and Gran Sport. call after 12 noon and before 10pm 360.695.5428 thanks for not calling before noon
  5. Thanks Bryan, sounds like you got it all handled with your Ford guy coming down, looking forward to seeing pics!
  6. Bryan, Does he have the titles or some sort of lien release or ??? What would you get to verify proof of ownership?
  7. Does this look right for the dash switches Ed? Sorry for the bad picture, it is all I had on the computer.
  8. Anybody have a picture of one they can post?
  9. I am probably going to put the rear one on my 65, along with the license plate, depending on how it cleans up, as I don't have a period correct plate on there now. They usually don't rust this bad, but sitting outside for 30 years will do that. Mostly from the bottom up though.
  10. I think from the pictures the rear is just a plain chrome one, the front one is from the original dealer (Huling Bros) and is pretty beat up.
  11. Thanks Jason, I really appreciate the feedback! Selling it whole, in addition to all the things you mentioned, would also allow me to not have to try and figure out what the parts are worth! I can tell just based on the number of emails and PM's I have received that the cathedrals, steering wheel, horns and deluxe interior arm rest plate for the rear handles are in the biggest demand! There are a couple of local guys interested in parts, will have to see if they want enough to make it worthwhile to take it apart. Wondering, if its a 3.07 posi like most, what are they worth? I ask becuase I have another posi rear from a 65, but haven't checked the ratio yet, but will try and make it to the shop and do that this weekend. Would be great if it was a 3.23 or 3.42, but I am not expecting that.
  12. Mark Reeves and the crew at Then and Now do excellent work, it should look sharp when done!
  13. Last car I parted out (also my first one parted out) hung around for close to a year and a half, and finally went down the road to make room for the Riviera. @$35/month for storage it was a losing proposition, but I bought it because there were a few parts I wanted, not becuase I wanted to part it out (just like this Riv). I don't enjoy working on cars, I enjoy finding them. I have always heard that its better (from a financial standpoint) to part a car out like this than it is to sell it whole, but IF I took the steering wheel off, and sold the rest of the car intact, what do you think its worth in 1 piece? Do you think anyone would have interest? I have a heard time imagining some one wanting to pay to ship this thing.....
  14. NOT MINE1988 Buick Reatta - One Owner Low Miles 1988 Buick Reatta Coupe, sports car. Original, one-owner and garaged. Great condition. 23,XXX Miles. Multi-function, touch-screen computer. 16-way power seats. Fully power. Keyless Entry. A one-of-a-kind and rare car. This car is the first year it was produced. Asking $10,000 OBO.
  15. as a side note on your side project. You will spend more on the rebuild than you will be able to sell it for, so only do this if you are looking for something to do and are bored. I am assuming you are not a professional engine builder giving a warranty, so most people are not going to pay you much for a unknown quality backyard engine rebuild. Your time would probably be better spent taking off/ cleaning up parts on the 65 you have for use on your new car or to sell if you don't need them. Where are you located? I have been known to occasionally come across good deals and can keep my eyes open for you. Also, are you only interested in the best year Riviera made (65), or are you considering other "lesser" years? :>) NOTE to others, please take my last comment in jest, as it was meant by a 65 owner.
  16. Seller says its numbers matching, I have encouraged him to add pics to his listing showing the LX block code stamp and VIN on block. He isn't a Riv Gran Sport guy, so doesn't know the in's and out's of these cars.
  17. I don't think getting this car was a matter of having the cash, as much as it was a matter of getting there first. Like many deals on CL, it is hard to get them long distance, you need to have someone local. You noticed both the previous and new owner are from the same area. I am sure it sold very quickly. I had forwarded the lead to a couple of guys I know in the area but they sat on their hands and wallets wondering if it was real and then it was gone.
  18. Rob, No Pvents, no am/fm, does have deluxe with pseat and pw
  19. LOL Ed, No not a GS, has a 401 single 4-barrel in it.
  20. Thanks Ed! Here is the link: Trumpet horn restoration
  21. LOL, I have gotten several messages like that in the last day regarding the horns and steering wheel, apparently they are in demand!
  22. I wouldn't recommend a mason jar, since most are clear glass, and then someone will see your stash. Folgers coffee can.
  23. I am an accountant and a car guy! And even tried to do a deal on this car, but couldn't get someone there fast enough....
