  1. Norb, Sorry about your friend. I am sure everyone here would like to extend their sympathy to the family. On another note, did you work with or know Kathy Benoit? We used to work together years ago. Her brother still works at Delphi, we were good friends.
  2. Lamar,Lamar, Lamar, You have started another thread that will get them all going. There never was a 4 hole special, they all know that, but you have them all trying to justify the 4th hole. Me thinks that the moon just might be made of green cheese. L8R, Stevo
  3. NIAGARA FRONTIER CHAPTER John taking a picture of me while I am taking a picture of him. Stevo
  4. The emblem is an inflateable, just for the show. At the National in Buffalo a couple of years back it had to be fished out of the Niagara River about 4 miles above the falls. It seems as though there were a few pranksters out and about. John, Great pictures. Thanks for the thanks. Oh by the way, Lana and I lost almost as much as Linda won. Why don't you tell them how Linda won $88.00 at the car show split club and you tried to wrestle her for it .....and lost! Now I guess I can't hide since everyone knows what Lana and I look like. It was great spending the weekend with you and yours. We look forward to the next one. Stevo I will have to look for the picture of John taking a picture of me taking a picture of him.
  5. It just goes to prove..."wouldn't you really rather drive a buick" ESPECIALLY AN OLD ONE!!!!! What you say is true, you do not even have to be on the open road....just cruise around town and check out the smiles, waves and thumbs up. I LOVE IT!!! Just look at all of the great people we have met through the BCA and ROA. We do not even have to have the same thoughts about judging or non-judging. To be really honest, whatever happens - happens. We will all still enjoy each others company and have a hell of a great time. If everybody agreed on all things, what a really boring place this would be. Stevo
  6. Tom, For $8500 you should be getting a car that is almost a #2 and probably a high silver or low gold. It should not take much to really spiff it up. We have one that we paid a little less for and put in a couple of K+ to bring it up to a GOLD, (I hope). I migfht find out at the next National meet if there is ever a judged one (GRIN, GRIN, GRIN) It got silver in Batavia last year. If you want a rundown on what we did to ours, get me off list and I'll outline it for you. I know people in Minnetonka by the way. I hope to see them in a couple of weeks. They are coming down to Buffalo for a wedding. Stevo
  7. Adam, You also, Thanks for the great shots from the Nationals. Stevo
  8. Sid, So sorry, I did not mean to slight you in the accolade department. You started this thread with your great pictures. I meant to thank each of you individually but got sidetracked. Sid, nice pictures....THANKS. Stevo

    FLINT '08

Jake, I have never judged since I have only been a BCA member for less than 2 years but count me in. I can be trained as well as any other monkey to do a job and do it right. If you are there and in charge, I will be there. Build it and they will come. Stevo

Just some thoughts: If you are going to do a job, do it the right way or do not do it at all. If you do not want to play the game my way, I will take my bat, ball and gloves home and then nobody can play.

    FLINT '08

Jake, I could not have said it better even on my best day. I agree with everylthing you say. The question of 400 point judging came up at our chapter meeting last week and our membership was totally in shock when it was said that judging might be skipped for Flint '08. The by-laws were brought up and it was asked "why", "how". Why won't there be a judged meet and how can they go against the by-laws of the National Organization. I do believe there are many chapters that feel the same as our chapter. A little pressure on the National Board might get them to see just how the membership feels. I guess they must already know since you say that the majority of members attending the meeting were in favor of judging except for Buicktown. ??????????? Stevo

Is it judged or not judged? I have seen it both ways on this forum. If it is not judged, I will have to think long and hard about taking my car to Flint. It is only 5-6 hours away; I was looking forward to the '08 nationals but not being judged, disappoints me. Since last lyear, I have been working on the items that I got hit for. I think I have almost all of them fixed. I know that different judges look at a car in different ways but all things being equal...I should move from a silver to a gold. Why worry about it, the next meet in '09 will be out west which means '10 is the next judged meet for me. Who knows, I can be old, worn out and beat by then (my car included). TOO BAD!! Stevo
  13. Jake, Nice synopsis on the National Meet. I almost felt like I was there. I can sympathize with some of your problems. I have only been to one (Batavia) but some of the same problems were evident. Overall, my wife and I had a pretty good time at Batavia, met a lot of great people and are looking to our next one. It will not be Seattle....too far! We do have the Great Lakes Regional in Buffalo next year so that looks like the place to go. Thanks again for the rundown. Stevo
  14. A Bear is a bear is a bear. At least there is not a bottle of OJ in the picture. OOOPPPSSS.
  15. Ditto on the Scotch on the Rocks!! A man that knows how to enjoy a drink.
  16. TALL DRINK???????? I will bet it would even be soothing with a whole bunch of little drinks. (1 ounce glasses)
  17. ETC,ETC,ETc,.............oh.....ETC,ETC,ETC,.......oh.........ETC,ETC,ETc,.......
  18. Buttercup, Buttercup, Buttercup!!!!!! Oh, where is Terry?
  19. Fantastic looking car. You ought to get a lot of thumbs up as you cruise around in it. Congratulations.
  20. Great. I remember the story of the one that did not get away and end up at the crusher. Keep us posted. Stevo
  21. COOL.....oh, I guess that would be an oxymoron being that we are talking fire and flame. I guess the more fitting expression would be....that's hot! Keith, beautiful car. If I had the cash, I'd be beating it down to Mars to try to talk you out of the red one. Hell, it is only about 3 and 1/2 hours or so. I already mentioned it to the lady of the house and there was absolutely no reaction. I guess that we all know what that means. So, keep it and I'll talk to you next year about it. Yeah, right. Again, great car....enjoy! Stevo
  22. Most of the reasons have already been kicked back and forth through this thread so I will not go into it again. I will just say, JUDGE THEM! Stevo
  23. There is absolutely no question, YOU GET IT JUDGED! You put it into the 400 point judging and see how it stands up. If nothing else, you get a panel of judges to look at it and evaluate your car instead of a couple of guys in your backyard or down on the corner at a cruise. You will then know pretty much what you want to tackle next depending on finances or whatever. I think you will be pleasantly surprised and be even more proud of your ride after you get the results.
