  1. That is a rather sad end to a great marque. Al
  2. Do most of the Royale series cars have a typical low speed rear end gear ratio? What can be said of the new auto shift transmission technology? Al
  3. Here is another Studebaker President question. Do the engines interchange between the 1933 President series 82 and 92? Al
  4. I attended Chickasha for the first time this year......and likely the last. You have to want to attend this meet to go there. I knew and dealt with Joe Ersland more than a few times early on, but being employed could never fit in the trip. I enjoyed this swap meet for what it was and did find a few Buffalo wheel parts as well as a Rushmore "large" brass lamp to match a single. It was also a good rendezvous point to meet and pick up other parts that came from three different directions. Unlike the past, I now try to control my Swap Meet meanderings and look only for those items I really need. This time I was successful. I actually cared enough after meeting Suzie to rent a spot and then hearing about the overall performance of the Swap Meet, to make a personal phone call to Mike Ersland. That turned out to be a nice chat. I can't put words in Mike's mouth but the jist of our conversation suggested a possibility of another group take over and make some changes to split the venue amongst those interested in 5O's - 60's and 70's as well as other transportation types. I am hopeful that the Chickasha Swap meet responsibilities may be passed off to a new group take over and remain a viable option not only for PreWar but a wider scope of interests. Lastly, I am mostly interested in early technology, but have a relationship going with a 1957 Corvette. Is the Pate Swap meet a good venue for that interest to find parts? Al
  5. Ok, your pictures are good. Would you share a measurement or two with me that will help confirm that this box is what it was represented to me as? This box does have the runners that appear to fit the Dodge frame from 1923. What is the length of your box? What does the front panel of the box look like as this box is missing the front panel. It appears, from your pictures, that I was right, there is no front corner brackets are used on the front of the box. The support in that area comes from the side panels of the cab "C" panels. Al
  6. Did all Royales use the same engine size. Did Reo offer an 8 in any of the lesser lines? How did the wheelbase's evolve? Al
  7. Could a Reo enthusiast reading here please share some information on the 1932-33 Royale model, both for the short wheelbase and the long wheelbase cars. Engine MFG and hp as well as comparison with the next size down Reo product. Al
  8. Hello Jan, How many upright pockets are in a proper Dodge Bros screen side box that support the top? I have run across a box, it is rather straight but one back corner is messed up and it has a pocket on each of the four corners. I thought a correct box would only have pockets on the back corners. Please evaluate, you will see the corner that is messed up. Al
  9. It appears that the latest and most modern Locomobile sedan body was being made available to owners of earlier cars, as an update. To answer your question, a 1930 may be out there but I have never seen one and only a few 1929's. Has anyone else seen or heard of a 1930 Locomobile? Al
  10. On this same subject, which is the more common wheel type, wire or artillery for the model year 1933? Al
  11. I am waiting for information from the AACA librarian regarding the screen side Blueprint for the top assembly. Jan, have you made progress on your screen side spare tire bracket? Al
  12. That is a nice Studebaker. It certainly looks like a Model 92, with a long wheel-base. Do you know how many of the series 82 Presidents still exist? I am thinking that the project car, I am looking at, is a Model 82 with a short wheel-base. Al
  13. Here is some information I found scrounging on the internet for the 1933 Studebaker line. Series 56 6 cylinder, 230 CID, total production 6861 Series 73 8 cylinder, 235 CID, total production 3841 Series 82 8 cylinder, 250 CID, total production 1194 Series 92 8 cylinder, 337 CID, total production 635 Of course, we have learned that not all internet information can be taken as gospel, however, this information seems in order. What are the thoughts of this group of Studebaker enthusiasts? The 1933 President project car, I am looking at, is a sedan type. I do not yet know the wheelbase or the CID yet. It is fully unrestored, which is a deterrent with parts missing. If I can get pictures and very specific information, I will share here. Al
  14. What, besides wheelbase, is the differences between the 80 and 90 Presidents? Would the Antique Studebaker Club have actual production numbers for the 1933 Model year? With the chatter about the similarities between the Studebaker President 8 and the Pierce-Arrow 8, do the heads interchange? Al
  15. Is the blue print full size or two scale? That information will be invaluable! Thanks for the reference. I wonder if the DBC has any blu prints of the wood wheel side mount bracket that could benefit Jan? Al
  16. Does anyone reading here have production numbers for both series of the 1933 Studebaker Presidents, the 80's and 90's? I am looking at a project and am wondering what the production numbers were, which will affect finding and locating needed parts. Next, how interchangeable are parts between the 1931-32 and 33 Presidents. Al
  17. I am in the position, still, for the need of a solid cast brass rear hubcap for a 1909-13 4 cylinder (maybe also an early 6 cylinder) Locomobile. If you have one of these, not being used, I am interested. Al
  18. Hello Jan, I am glad that you started this chat regarding your need for a proper wood wheel side-mount spare bracket for your Screen Side. I am not as far along as you are, with my project, but I am gaining traction and collecting more parts from which I can start assembly of my screen-side project. The pictures you posted, of the top brackets, are certainly helpful! I do have the front brackets which mount the windshield uprights to the top front header, but I have none else. From you pictures, I can see that all of the brackets should not be hard to duplicate using flat bar or angle iron. When you get a chance, please post measurements of the other top brackets. Could you also include a picture of the connection of the top of the top of the body between the, e "C" cab panels and the top especially at the back of the cab? Al
  19. Thanks, Any idea as to paint color and upholstery type? Al
  20. Looks like the fire apparatus has been replaced with a farm type wooden box. I have an early fire truck spring type extension ladder system if you purchase and want to go back to a fire truck configuration. Contact me. Al
  21. Yes, I have none of the top brackets but intent to build them so I can install a correct configured top assembly. Pictures would be GREAT and if you are able, some basic measurements. Al
  22. I am looking to purchase the body that has this information on the body firewall tag. Please tell me what it is and how it fits into the 1937 Chrysler production. Al top line of numbers C16BC-5996 middle line of numbers 305-613 bottom line JOB No 31-93
  23. Jan, You are lucky to be able to start with a decent, complete truck at the onset. I am dealing with table scraps to build my rig. Do you have your top brackets, from front to back? Al
  24. Here is a picture of a disc wheel rear mount spare bracket. It is looking like I will be converting this one to a side mount for the screen side project. Al
