Look at the last entry on page #10 of this forum at my posting of "disable ABS system". I converted my '90 TC to just plain old power brakes. I have never been happier and I have no repair or parts problems. Check it out. Bill

The transmission shifting is controled by a transmission computer. If the tranny computer goes bad it will cause shifting problems. But before you send off the tranny computer for repairs, check the battery cables. If the battery cables are not making good connections, really good connections, this will also cause shifting problems. Bill

Just wait till the new owner gets about 2500 miles on this machine and every seal begins to leak and needs replacing..........he might want to sell it cheap. Most of the time very low milage cars cost many dollars more than just the cost of the car to make it driveable.

Sounds to me like it could be (1) your battery cable(s) are bad and are not making complete contact with the battery causing your trans. computer to malfuntion or (2) your trans. computer has gone bad and needs replacing.

To get the hard top off, look in your owners book. It will tell you to open the trunk and take your tire tool and insert it in the opening in the carpet to unlock the pins that hold down the top. With the hard top off you can get to the electrical system under the soft top.

Thanks for the help. I had a split in the vacuum line right out of the tripel tee on the intake plemum. Cut off some of the line and stuck it back on. Works fine now.
-
My selector for panel, defrost, etc. does not respond. Do I have a vacuum problem or something else. Would appreciate any help.

A red hard top is now on ebay (Item number: 4581086783). You might check it out. Good Luck, Bill

I disabled mine ('90-V6) to just power brakes several months ago and have not had a problem. I am now not afraid of my brakes failing me because of an electrical fuse, relay, sensor, etc. at 70 MPH or 5MPH, any longer..........after the conversion I know I will have brakes. Look on page #4 of the this forum for complete details.

Check out "Disable ABS System" on page #3 of this forum. I replaced my ABS Brakeing System by ATE (a system that is hard to work on and very expensive to replace) with just standard old power brakes. Read the all the replys and get some good brakes for under $500. Bill
