1. Will NOS window locks work for you? I believe these would be correct for your year. Check out the pic to make sure. C & G Ford Parts has the sliding glass handles listed on their website, part #81A-793775-A.
2. The drive shaft has a total length of 51" long with slip yoke all the way in as pictured.
3. I have a '30 drive shaft with enclosed CV joint and slip yoke. Flange mount on both ends. I can get a picture and measure if you think it will help. It is from a low mile car in good condition. I changed the transmission and made a modern drive shaft.
4. The numbers on the head are 167339-3 code J-3-19. The block is 167029 code J-5-7
5. I have a '30 Dictator with a complete 8 motor that I would possibly sell. I would hate to part the engine out. Not driven since the '50's. I am going to update the drivetrain in this car. I already have a running '30 Dictator 8 with the original 5:11 rear axle. Going that slow takes the enjoyment out of it for me. I did put a T5 trans in it with O/D which helps. With wood wheels and mechanical brakes, how fast should it be driven. Near Cincinnati.
6. They are 25" diameter, about 4" width. They are somewhat different than what you have shown, these use a lock ring to hold tire.
7. Hello Jim, I got a chance to look thru my spare Franklin parts and found 2 wheels. I am not quite sure if they are what you are looking for. They are in good condition. If you or anyone else needs them, let me know.
8. Buick Tag Topper, has scratches, straight metal and no rust. Measures 6.5"x6.5" Die stamped steel. $130 shipped
9. I do still have these wheels. I do not know what all years the wheels will fit. I have kept them dry.
10. I went thru the same thing on my '30 Dictator. I took the seal measurments to the local parts store and obtained modern seals. The is enough surface area in the ends of the axle housing to put 2 seals in each side, which I did.
11. Tom, when are we going to see pictures of this '27 Studebaker? Or do I have to wait until next years Pumpkin Run in Owensville.
12. One of the hoods has sold. Still have one left.
13. Neat Studebaker license topper advertising a dealership in South Bend. Die stamped steel. It has been shuffled around a few times, some scratches and paint loss, not perfect. $125 shipped in the US. Send me a PM if interested. About 6.5" x 6.5"
14. I have several sets of those headlights, but not a single lense among all of them. They are late '20's Pontiac and late '20's REO. By the way, nice find on the Indy car.
15. I have 2 Dictators, a '29 and '30. Niether cars have wings on the headlights, and both cars have matching radiator caps, but these cars were here 40 years before me, so who knows what might have been changed on them over the years. I liked the winged type radiator cap, so I picked one up at the Southbend swap meet a few years back, installed it, and found that the hood hits the tip of the wing when it is raised all the way. The Commanders and Presidents have wider radiator shells, so that leaves room for the hoods to clear the radiator cap wings. I still believe I have provided the correct picture, but have been wrong many times before. Any differences between the 6 and 8 cylinder cars? Both of mine are 8's. Here is another picture of a nicely restored '30 Dictator, not one of mine.
16. No universal joint. It was sold with the transmission a few years back.
17. This chasis was hauled to Ohio from Texas years ago and has been kept inside ever since. Covered with surface rust, but straight and not pitted. I believe it would clean up nice. I can not quite remember what years this frame is correct for, since pontiac started using front brakes in '28, might fit into the early '30s. Not the best pictures, but I did not want to try and carry it outside. $500. Milford, Ohio
18. Located near Cincinnati, Ohio. Nice stuff. All 6 fenders for $800. kcraver@cinci.rr.com
19. The car has been kept inside since new. No rust ever. Original paint and interior. 71,000 miles. 305 chevy motor with 2 barrel carb and auto trans. Very solid body, floors, and frame. Runs and drives as new. Cold A/C. Good tires. Carpet shows minor wear, perfect dash, no tears in the seats, good headliner, original radio. This car has not been cut on. A very clean, well kept car that needs nothing. $3200 kcraver@cinci.rr.com Located near Cincinnati, Ohio. No shipping outside the US. Would consider trades on something much older, would not have to be running, but farely close to home.
20. I am not a Franklin guy, maybe someone here could give an opinion of a fair market value of the hoods. I am pretty sure I will never use them.
