  1. Bill re installing a new top .....Where did you get it made and at what cost???? I am up to that stage myself. How difficult is it to install?? thanks bob
  2. Bill I located a few and put the best parts together to make one. The inside tank had many pin holes which I sealed with POR 15 and its been fine for the last year . The tank has GREAT draw from the tank and NO problems as yet with that set up. I may be able to help you out with tank parts but I don't know if I have a complete one. bob
  3. vergil WHY use this set up when the vacuum pump is such a reliable system?? bob
  4. Rusty I actually do have a few photos of DBs during that campaign. The Dodges performed so well that Pershing had more sent down.
  5. Folks Found this photo of a DB touring car during WW1 Caption was captured German soldiers. I am amassing as many images as I can of Dodge Brothers vehicles during the Great War. I would love to see any one else who might have some images to share beyond the usual published views. http://www.geocities.com/bob487thbg/dbp1.jpg
  6. David I am not sure what you would like to see so here is a picture of the rear seat back prior to upholstering http://www.geocities.com/bob487thbg/dbp2.jpg I do have photos of all stages of the frame off restoration and if you would like a specific area I will try to oblige. If you would like general before and afters I can likely do that as well.
  7. hello I have just completed the interior as original on my 1916 touring car. I live in CT. Iposted you before I got the car back. It was done in Washington CT . Here is a link to the interior. IT WAS PRICEY!!! This is diamond tufted leather horsehair stuffing. I have pics of all the details of the seat construction if you need it still. <www.geocities.com/bob487thbg/interior.JPG> bob
  8. alan here is link to 3 pics of wheel. Needs to be blasted but solid. The ring is not rusted to wheel and easily comes off. I don't know what its worth ..What have you been paying for them? Thanks bob http://www.geocities.com/bob487thbg/t4.JPG http://www.geocities.com/bob487thbg/t5.JPG http://www.geocities.com/bob487thbg/t6.JPG

  10. Hello folks Does any one have a recommendations for restoring a set of bows. They have minor to moderate holes/cracks/splits but are otherwise sound I want to give them the most structural integrity I can. I had a new set made but radius was not as original and I will use one or 2 of them if I cannot salvage the originals. Thanks
  11. Roger I would very much like to see the design before I havemy top done thanks bob bob487thbg@aol.com
  12. Hello folks quick question : Did the 16 touring car tops have a flap which hung from the front bow to prevent air blowing through space between windshield and top?? I saw a previous post whic described such a flap on a '22. Thanks
  13. hi I live in New fairfield Just outside of Danbury . The car is up in Litchfield county at the upholtsery guy. Likely a month or so till I get it back down here depending on how fast he gets it finished. I did not know when they changed the top irons, I guess when they tilted the windshield back. Mine is the straight windshield BUT you should check with someone about that to be sure . My phone is 203 746 7080 bob
  14. Jerry I will get a picture to you asap..as for the rings I may have only one or two I need to check Give me until next week...call me at 203 746 7080 if I get forgetful bob
  15. Hello Tmarvin I live in CT and I am in the final stages of restoring a 16 touring car. I am having the upholstery finished as I write this . I have a guy in CT doing it as original diamond tufted horsehair filled. Is that correct for your year also?? I think so. If I can be of help let me know. I also have had my top irons restored by Johns Enterprises in Ca. Took 9 mos but they are perfect as new. I have a second set of irons that need full resoration I could sell that to you after I use the top that remains on it for a pattern when I have my top done. The irons that I sent to John needed full restoration as well./ For that he charged me 650 bob bob
  16. Hello When I attempted to put together a set of 24" steel wheels I got some xtra ones. I found two varieties of steel wheels.Other car makers of that era also used 24 in disk wheels and that may be the reason for slight differnce. Bolt pattern identical but very slight difference in the disk. I probably dont have the rings but if you are interested I should have four needing only minor resoration.I think theyve been blasted, filled as needed and primed. I am not sure that I can post a price but not expensive but I live in CT and shipping could be pricey . I can email you a picture bob
  17. THANKS I think I need to find a qualified shop!!!!
  18. THANKS GUYS KEEP EM COMING!!! Most radiator shops around here have folded up business due to EPA regs. Those still aound seem to simply want to recore whatever comes in .. Thats why I want a home remedy!
  19. My original 1916 radiator with the horizontal fins is clogged. How much for how long is unknown. It is out of the shell and I would like to know if any of you have any home remedies to try to unclog it. thanks
  20. Hello Ohio I would also like info on the auction thanks bob487thbg@aol.com
  21. Mark yes that is the PPG formula I sent you. Glad you are back safely/ I am doing original interior diamond pattern horsehair and then its on to the top. I have collected a number of photos of DBs and other vehicles during the Great War. Let me know if I can help. I just sent Romar my top bows to have them duplicated They will be the same as the 17 as they come in unfinished. If you contact him perhaps he can have a set made for you. He quoted me 240 for the set. My originals were pretty warped. bob
  22. Mark I sent you that paint code for ww 1 Dodge Bros cars . Here is how it looks on a car try this link www.geocities.com/bob487thbg/fdr5.jpg bob
  23. MARK IS THAT FOR YOUR US ARMY DODGE ???? i HAVE ALMOST FINISHED MINE EXCEPT FOR TOP AND SEAT BACKS I WILL SEND OR POST A PICTURE BOB JACOBS
  24. Mark one more thing I agree TAKE OUT BOTH BOLTS and remove the strainer and be sure its clean. Are you sure the oil pump is operational??? DO you have oil pressure?? I would suggest a few oil changes (use cheap oil) . I first flushed the sytem with Kerosene (put through the oil filler) . Then add about 6 qts oil , Run the car a few minutes, Change the oil. I run straight 30 wt non detergent . I know there are different ideas on this . bob
