  3. I see that PA is going to be coming out with a Show Car registration plate. I hope it dosnt look like the new antique and classic tags!
  4. I was waiting to sell a 442 that I have and it should be going this weekens so I will have cash in hand! Im starting to look around to see whats local. I wish the car went before cause I saw a few at Hershey that I would have grabbed but who knows where they are now.
  5. I actually dont know how much road time I would be getting with the car. I have a bunch of cars and for some reason I just think that the T's are neat so I want one. There are a few gentlemen in the area where I live that have several for sale so I could go see one of them first to see what the have in stock. I became good friends with some older friends of my fathers and they got me into the early cars. I also think that I would like to learn as much as I can from them because believe me most of the guys my age wouldnt even know how to start a T nevermind drive one. They look at my Model A and aren't interested in anything like that but I keep trying to change their mind. Thanks again

The manual is clear..."The objective of AACA judging is to evaluate an antique vehicle which has been restored to the same state as when the dealer received the vehicle from the factory". Logos were also installed by used car dealers. Would you also not deduct for these? </div></div> First of all for a restored car that is super. I could see if you are doing a restoration not putting it back.BUT I would not want to attempt to spot in an area that a dealer tag was removed on an orignal car that yes the paint was 50 YEARS OLD! I could also say that I have had and do have 50 year old paint on a show cars that I have and it has won a senior without a problem.
  7. I dont feel that any points should be taken off because I have seen many orignal cars where the dealer nameplate was drilled and placed on with either screws or barrel clips to secure them to the trunk. I know that on some of the Cadillacs I had once you remove the plate with the screws there were two holes there. I would rather leave it there then fill in the holes and have to spot in 50 year old paint!

  10. I am partial to a closed car for some reason. Im not sure how far I would actually drive it but if I wanted to take it to an event any distance away I'll just put it on the trailer. Thanks for your info guys!
  11. I am thinking about buying a model t but some of the guys I know keep telling me that I should only buy a touring car or a roadster because the others dont have any power. I have never driven a model t YET but I am drawn to the big sedans for some reason. Any suggestions???

  19. I know this subject has been brought up 100 times already and I don't want to go into a big deal on it but I have heard a rumor and I am looking to see if it has any truth or if it is BS. I was at a local AACA region show a week ago and I overheard a club member talking to a gentleman about judging a vehicle at a national AACA show and comment about a proposed change in the judging rules on radial tires. I asked the gentlemen what they were talking about and one of them had told me that the national board was considering dropping any point deduction for a vehicle because it had radial tires and not the bias tires that it would have come with from the factory. Again I am not trying to get into a huge deal with this I am just wondering if this is TRUE or BS.
  20. Thanks to all the regions and members that worked so hard to put on the show. We had a great time there and thought the show was one of the best that we have ever attended. It was a beautiful location with loads of room to park. Also thanks to all the members that brought out their cars, we were lucky to see some outstanding cars. Stanley
  21. I have been attending AACA National shows for several years and I have come away with 5 senior cars and 5 HPOF cars. I think that the judging system is working well and that the classes and standards are good. I also have to say that I am a BONE STOCK person that enjoys seeing vehicles as they came from the factory without modifications. The AACA was founded for the preservation of antique vehicles in stock condition from what I was always told and im proud to be a part of that. There are other clubs for modified vehicles and theres nothing wrong with that if your into that. People put a lot of time, money, and hard work into their vehicles and I do respect that.
  22. Pennsylvania actually should have given people a choice of the purple for antique and white for classic or the new design. I have a bunch of cars registered in PA and I just feel that the old plates looked much better on certain cars. For instance my 67 Camaro would not look good with a picture of a roadster on it, but my friends 24 Studebaker almost matches the car on the plate. From a police officers view it would be easier to pick out a purple plate then one that matches the new plate colors even with a car on it. Not to change the subject but I will say that it really pi$%^* me off when I see a antique car that is modified with an antique registration on it. Streetrods should have streetrod plates on them not antique plates. When I asked PennDot about it they said that I, (being in local law enforcement) have the right to stop a vehicle like that because vehicles registered as antiques should be in the condition as they were from the factory.
  23. I am looking to see if anyone knows what side a PA inspection sticker would go on in 1953. I know that they had changed some time in the 50's but im not sure when. Thanks
  24. Here is a picture if I can get it to work.
