  1. Anyone know for sure if Antique Auto Battery is out of business or not? Their website is still up and running but I have read in several sites that they actually are no longer in business. I need a new battery prior to the Charlotte show but don’t want to waste time with them if they really aren’t in business. thanks Bob

I for one do NOT miss him in the least. He attacked everyone who tried to help him because they wouldn't agree with him about his car. BOB

  5. The Nissan tour is okay but Lane Museum is great - if I had to choose I would take the Lane Museum tour
  6. Yea, we use to put the convertible top down late at night and drive out under the moon. Oh....you mean the other "mooning"
  7. Won't be a 53 unless it is a wagon as the Savoy name in 53 was an upgraded Wagon model. In 54, the full-size Plymouths used the name Savoy. If it has single headlights it could be a 54 but not a 59, if it has dual headlights it could be a 59, but not a 54.
  8. I use axle straps around my axles and then ratchet tie downs connected to them and to my tie down points. Be sure you don't crush any brake lines when you go around the axles, etc. BOB
  9. I have never used weight distribution hitches or swap bars on an open trailer; however, I always use them on an enclosed one. If you load your trailer properly you shoudln't need them .
  10. My first enclosed trailer did NOT have the escape door - what a major mistake that was. The last two have had the doors and it makes getting in and out of the car a breeze. Ensure you get a trailer with the "show car" option which will have the lower fenders in the trailer so you can clear the car's door. Even with my Corvair, I ahve no problem clearing the fender and the escape door frame. BOB
  11. I don't want to discourage you but I don't know of many folks here that would let a new member who admits to having just completed his first haul take his/her car anywhere. Plus, there are tons of issues with you becoming a paid hauler - such as DOT license requirements, etc. I have been trailering my cars for nearly 20 years and no way in the world would I consider doing it for someone else. BOB
  12. Some folks have this ideological romance with having an old car without realizing they aren't for the faint of heart. I ahve been fortuante to have only been stranded a couple of times in an old car and all of those were near home, but I realize each time I head out that it is a possibility. Obviously this guy wanted the romance without the work. BOB
  13. Trust me Bill you were never as bad as 65NewYorker. Each person has a reason for the car they own and also enjoys it in different ways. I have cars that are strictly show and others that are strictly for the enjoyment of driving them. There is nothing wrong with either of those and certainly nothing that should cause us as fellow car enthusiasts to be at odds with each other over. I hope you had a Merry Christmas and have a great New Year BOB

Apparently Bob Hill has never had that pain. </div></div> No I haven't BUT if I am wanting people to look for my car I will give more info in the thread instead of just a link to a youtube video.
  15. It might help if you tell us more info in the text instead of a youtube video that most of us don't want to watch !!!
