  12. I am trying to troubleshoot small problems with my new acquisition . The directional lights do not work - I traced it to a blown in-line fuse (30 amp). I replaced it and it immediately blew again but only on signaling for a right turn. Any help on this and WHAT lamps do I look for for replacements? Both front AND rear directional BULBS . What are the C.P. and replacement lamp nos. Thank you. Mike
  13. Okay - I'll bite ... WHAT is George Trickett's engine dating explanation and WHERE can I read it? Mike Lynch
  14. I was in the process of transferring the title to the '41 Cabriolet when I noticed the VIN number was incorrect. At the DMV I was told the last time the car was titled, (some 30 yrs agp) the owner could not locate a VIN #, so the State "made one up". The correct VIN number for this car is H 112611. After research, I learned that I can find this number in THREE places: 1) On the frame next to the engine (all but obliterated) 2) On the frame above the gas filler neck (YES, open the filler door, and there it is, plain as day. 3) On the engine Here is my next question: WHERE on the engine? Do I need to pull up carpeting to find an access panel in the floor? Any Help, again, greatly appreciated! Mike Lynch
  15. Thanks, Phil! Now I know what spare cap to look for; and I guess the trim rings are correct. The build sheet shows that the car came with a columbia axle. All of the controls were taken off when it was restored and I do have EVERYTHING but an axle housing, which is LINCOLN - ONLY! I have all of the "guts" for one, but no housing. Mike
  16. Thanks, Rolf. The color is Capri Blue Iridescent , first offered in 1940 and carried over to 1941 - LOTS of metallic in this color. Although not very visible, the trim rings are NOT ribbed - should thry be? Mike
  17. My '41 cabriolet was obviously restored by a true professional with a very limited knowledge of Lincolns. I notice that the clutch and brake pedals are hard to reach (and I'm by no means "slight in height") In looking at parts books it mentions pedal extensions. What are these and how can I add them to my car?? Michael
