  5. Tom, Sorry, I don't have any Champion C7's. Numbers are a problem regarding the above plugs. The green plugs say "Splitdorf" and have the number 227 stamped on them. The Tiger plugs have no number but do the the letters "TX". The AC plugs say "AC" and have no numbers or other identification markings. I have been told the Splitdorf might be from 1909. If so, must have been one of the early cars that used them. Bob
  6. We are having a friendly debate as to what these lights were used for. They are 10 inches in diameter and about 8 inches deep. The front has a chrome ring and inside at the bottom of the deflecdtor it says "Brown Universal". I have a pair and inside is a single light bulb. Some persons think the lights came off an old bus, other say truck and a few are convinced it was an early car from an independent manufacturer no longer in business. No one has provided definitive proof yet. We have some of the best experts regarding the early iron on this forum. Any thoughts? Bob
  7. I bought a trailer load of car parts and with it were these spark plugs. Nothing like anything I have seen before. Can anyone tell me what cars used these plugs? Thanks. Bob

  9. I removed my fuel gauge from the dash of my 33 Buick because it is not working. Some person have provided helpful suggetions regarding testing it. I have two terminal-one on top of the other-upper and lower as it sits in the dash. What do I connect to what to test it? Thanks. Bob pint4@new.rr.com
  10. What years are you looking for? Somewhere in my warehouse of old car stuff, I believe I have a box of 16mm films advertising the widetrack Pontiacs. I haven't seen them for over 20 years but they are there. Are you looking for a particular year? Last year I kicked around the idea of trying to locate them and put them on Ebay but held off because I thought I might want to first make a DVD copy. Bob

  12. mrpushbutton, I tried the first step but the fuel gauge needle didn't move at all. What's the next step you would recommend? Thanks. Bob
  13. Thanks for the suggestion. I have a shop manual but not enough troubleshooting info in it. I need something I can follow step by step such as a test procedure. Thanks. Bob
  14. My fuel gauge doesn't work. Always reads empty. Doesn't appear to be the sending unit. Sending unit tested ok. How do I test the fuel gauge? It is in a 1933 Buick Series 60. Thanks. Bob P.S. Does someone repair fuel gauges if broke?
  15. The fuel gauge on my 33 Buick doesn't work. I believe the sending unit is ok and grounded per tests done. Wiring from sending unit to gauge on dash appears to be good. How do I test the gauge itself? There are a couple of terminals on the back. The top one has one wire going to it and the bottom terminal has two wires. The gauge apparently is a two coil system. Does anyone know what wires go where? Maybe it is wired wrong. I am lost as to what to do. The needle is on empty and doesn't do a thing. Doesn't move at all. Thanks. Bob

  19. We were getting ready to change the oil on my 33 Buick tonight and my friend asked me if it made a diffference if it was detergent or non-detergent oil. I didn't think it mattered but now I am wondering if one or the other was better for the engine. Any opinions? Thanks. Bob

    Radial Tires

Why are the sizes different? I wonder why more antique cars are switched over to radials to get the improved handling and ride? Bob
  24. I am concerned about this size issue. Will I need to buy a different size tire to get the same diameter as my 6.50 x 16 tires? Under radial listing, it lists a 6.50 x 16 radial tire. Is this the same size as a 6.50 x 16 bias tire? My car finds every rut or crack in the road and follows it. I feel like I'm steering a ship on rough water. Thanks. Bob
  25. I am looking for a Police Light for the top of my car that is made of glass and has the word "Police" in raised lettering molded into it. The light is about 12 inches wide and is low profile and sits on the roof. Any help locating such a police light would be appreciated. Bob pint4@new.rr.com
