I find that paint charts when aged or displayed on the computer are not accurate reflections of the color when the paint finally dries on the car. What do others do to insure they get the exact color they want? I thought of buying a pint once I have narrowed it down and have some sprayed on a piece of sheetmetal. Bob

Wanted: Flying Lady Hood Ornament for 1933 Buick Large Series
pint4 replied to pint4's topic in Buick - Pre War
Thanks for the info. If I understand everything I read, the 33 Buick hood ornament is unique to 1933 which means I have to press on and find one..............back to the swap meets, Hemmings, Old Cars Weekly, etc. The treasure hunt starts............ Bob -
Wanted: Flying Lady Hood Ornament for 1933 Buick Large Series

Is a 32 Buick Large Series hood ornament the same as a 33 Buick hood ornament? Thanks. Bob -
I'm not sure about 1940. Paint colors are hard to verify on a computer because every monitors is different. Paint samples from old color chips are so dark due to aging that you can't determine how close they are to the actual color. Now I am wondering if there was a combination with a dark blue top and dark blue fenders with greenish-blue body in the center. Thanks. Bob

Greg, What does the reference to #403 mean? I might have a lead on a 1934 Series 60 generator and wonder if it will work. Thanks. Bob

I am looking for a Cord or Auburn from the 1930's era. First preference would be unrestored. Thanks. Bob

Auburn Boattail Speedster Replica Kit Wanted
pint4 replied to pint4's topic in Auburn Cord Duesenberg (ACD)
I would consider buying a replicar that is partially assembled such as an abandoned project that someone got tired of working on. Even a lead would be appreciated. Thanks. Bob -
Looking for good condition front and rear bumpers and 17" wheels for 1933 Buick Series 60. I can be emailed at pint4@new.rr.com Thanks. Bob

Is the generator on a 34-35 large series Buick the same as a 33 series 60 Buick? Might there be a difference in the mounting? Are they located along side the engine simialr to the 33 Buick generator layout? Thanks. Bob

Is there any chance that anyone would have an interchange manual and would be willing to check something for me? I am wondering if generators from any other year Buicks would fit my 33 Buick Series 60. I am hopeful that Buick used the same generator in 32, 31, 30,..... If so, I can expand my search! Thanks. Bob

Wanted: Flying Lady Hood Ornament for 33 Buick Large Series
pint4 posted a topic in Buick - Buy/Sell
I am looking for a radiator cap with the flying lady hood ornament for my 1933 Buick-large series. If you have one or know of one, please email me at pint4@new.rr.com. Thanks. Bob -
Fred, What is involved with casting a new center section for a 33 Buick Model 60? Maybe it's something I should look into. If I did, I would most likely cast some extras similar to what you did? Did you use your old one for a pattern or did you work off engineering drawings? I drove my 33 this weekend and it sounded like a dozen Harley Davidson's coming down the road. Hard to carry on any conversation not to mention everyone within site staring at me as I drove by. I've got to believe someone has center section sitting around somewhere so I'm still hoping to hear from someone who has one for sale. Thanks. Bob

With all of the automnotive expertise out there I am surprised no one has run into this problem before. I would like to take it for a ride this weekend but am reluctant until I figure out this generator problem.

My car is a 1933 Buick Model 68 Victoria Coupe. It is currently Black and Blue. I'm looking for something a little brighter such as red and marroon or Burgundy and Black Cherry. Thanks. Bob

I have a 1933 Buick Model 68 that I am trying to get running, Car starts right away but the ammeter is pegged at minus 20 indicationg it is discharging. I don't see a voltage regulator anywhere as some peoiple have suggested I might have to set the polarity. It talks in the manual about going 8 to 10 MPH before the generator kicks in but that didn't seem to matter. I had it up to 10 MPH. Revving the engine didn't seem to help either. I am at a lost as to what to do. It is not my area of expertise. Thanks for your help. Frustrated Buick Owner

My work schedule is going to limit my Buick fun this week. I am looking for parts for my car. If I have one day to spend at the swap meet, what day would you suggest? Too early and no vendors set up. Too late and all the parts are sold. Thanks.

Fred, Thanks for the leads and the assembly tip! I am told that someone is reproducing that center section of the exhaust manifold. Now the search is on to find out who and if they are still doing it. I haven't taken it apart yet' I wonder if there are gaskets between each of the sections. Thanks again. Bob

I am told many of the old 6 volt electric fuel pumps end up trashed by gas with ethanol in it. Is there a 6 volt electric fuel pump out there that handle the ethanol gas without turning to mush? Thanks. Bob

Does anyone have any parts for 1933 Buick such as coil, manuals, water pump or kit, middle section of exhaust manifold? Thanks. Bob

I just pulled a plug from my 33 Buick and printed on the side is "AC86". I am guessing these plugs are no longer available-maybe I am wrong. Is there a cross reference for this plug or modern replacement? Thanks. Bob

I am looking to buy a gas tank strap for a 1933 Buick. It's the one that goes under the tank-actually there are two straps. I only need one. I am looking for one in relatively good condition. Thanks Bob
