  1. I am looking for wide whitewall 6.50 x 16 radial tires for my 1933 Buick Series 60. I am tired of the bias tires and how they track every groove or crack in the road. Any advice regarding where to buy? Where to get the best price? Best value? Thanks. Bob email address: pint4@new.rr.com

  3. The car has copper wires. Prior to me purchasing it, it had sat since 1960 or 61? I am looking at buying a unversal set of copper wires and cutting to length. Has anyone done this before? Thanks. Bob
  4. Do you still have the Auburn Kit Car? Please contact me at pint4@new.rr.com. Thanks. Bob
  5. Thanks for the info. The question came up because a friend of mine, who is restoring a Ford Model T, told me he had to use copper spark plug wires because his car would not run good if they weren't copper. Since I am replacing the wires in my Buick, it made me wonder if I needed copper spark plug wires also. Don't want to have to replace new ones because I didn't buy the right ones in the first place. There must be others that have had some experience with this problem out there. Thanks. Bob
  6. I am replacing the spark plug wires on my 33 Buick. I beleive it came with copper spark plug wires. Does it make a difference if I replace them with newer ones made out of graphite or some similar modern material. Pros and cons are? Thanks. Bob
  7. Anyone have an exhaust manifold or engine for a 1945-35 Sereis 60 Buick? My email address is pint4@new.rr.com. Thanks. Bob

  9. I am looking to buy four 6.50 x 16 radial wide whitewall tires for my old Buick. It is a 1935 Buick. Looking for feedback-tube or tubeless. And where can I get my best price. Looking at a couple of sites in the net, looks like they are asking $200 to 225 each plus tubes and shipping. Anyone know of a discounter of these tires. My email address is pint4@new.rr.com. Thanks. Bob

  13. Thanks for the info. What color was the engine painted? I am planning to turn this head into a wall hanger. I am thinking Green or Grey with white lettering would look good. Bob
  14. A few years back, I remember a person was producing high quality outside rear view mirrors. I believe he was located out East and his name was Jay Fisher. Does anyone know what became of his company? Can you still buy his mirrors? I am looking for a nice set of rear view mirrors. My email address is pint4@new.rr.com. Thanks, Bob

  17. If you haven't attended the Appleton Old Car Show yet, you may want to try to attend at least one. It is free and has a cruise show the night before the big show. You can expect to see 800 to 1200 collector cars on display and owners who love to answer questions about their cars. This is the show website: www.appletonoldcarshow.com If nothing else, visit the site and enjoy hundreds of pictures of cars that attended past shows. My favorites are the Duesenbergs and Packards. The show is open to cars 1980 and older and there is a swap meet and cars for sale area. Bob
  18. Fred Thanks for the gasket advice. I have the parts on order from Bob's Automobilia. I should have them by Friday. I decided to try welding my 33 Buick exhaust manifold. A local machine shop with experience welding/repairing cast iron parts is going to do it. Should have it back by Friday. They checked it out and found multiple cracks. I am surprised it is still in one piece. Bob Next thing I need is a 6 volt electric fuel pump that will work with my car and the modern day fuels. Any recommendations. Thanks. Bob
  19. Thanks. This is very helpful information. Very much appreciated. Bob
  20. I have a Packard Head that says "Packard", "327", and "Thunderbolt" cast into it. What years Packard did this come off of? Thanks. Bob
  21. Does anyone know if the same key would fit the ignition and exterior door handle lock on a 1933 Buick Series 60? Lost my key and would have a locksmith make one for the outside door handle if it would also fit the ignition. Anyone have the answer?? Mu email address is pint4@new.rr.com. Thanks. Bob
  22. Thanks for all the help. I would like to see more of the pre-war cars on the road but finding parts is a big part of the challenge as most vendors and collectors are concentrating on the post war and muscle cars. Advertising has not yielded many results. I currently have problems with my generator and cracked exhaust manifold. Need a hood ornament but I am not holding my breath. I have had similar problems finding parts for my 37 Packard 120. Even basic parts like exterior door handles are hard to find. I believe I could start with just a frame and build a 65 Mustang from scratch with all of the repro parts and parts I see at swap meets. The changing of the guard has taken place. I wish there was a network other than Hemmings Motor News and Old Cars Weekly where people could get help. This forum is helpful but the number of participants needs to increase substantially. There are people with a wealth of knowledge out there and a garage full of parts that still are untapped. My goal is to at least have my 33 Buick Series 60 on the road this summer even if it only goes 50 miles. Thanks for everyone's help so far. Very much appreciated. If you run across a part, my email address is pint4@new.rr.com. Thanks. Bob P.S. Anyone have a set of Senior Trippe lights they are not planning to use.
  23. Does anyone know a source for 1933 Buick Series 60 Exhaust and Intake Manifold gaskets? Thanks. My email address is: pint4@new.rr.com. Bob
  24. I have finally removed my intake and exhaust manifolds from my 1933 Buick Series 60 Victoria Coupe. I am looking for a source for the manifold gaskets and the other miscellaneous gaskets. Lots of people sell 34 to 51 parts. Fewer sell the 31-33 parts. Anyone know where I can find these parts. My email address is: pint4@new.rr.com. Thanks. Bob
  25. This a very personal decision because it depends on how much you like the car and how much you want to invest in it. Building or restoring a car is now a very expensive project if you have to hire someone to do the work. From what you have described, this is a kit car. You may contact me at my email address at: pint4@new.rr.com. I can provide you with additional information. Take care! Bob
