  1. Joe- Thanks for the words of advice on the plastic gas filter. We were only using this temporarily to make sure there was no dirt in the fuel system (which there wasn't) and to watch the flow from the pump. It is gone now since we no longer need it! BJM- Thanks for the nice comments about this car. It really is just a nice old car that runs and drives the way a car like this should. Aestorrs-This wasn't the car in Lynchburg. The car came directly to us from the owner in Mass. Thanks for the inquiry.
  2. SOLD SOLD SOLD If you like a great car with a great story, this is it. This 1949 Oldsmobile 98 Convertible was purchased by Gloria Peral of Massachusetts as a two year old, nearly new car in 1951. She obviously liked this top of the line Oldsmobile as she kept it for nearly 60 years!!!. Not only did she like this car, she used it regularly but carefully, always had the car serviced and repaired as needed, and never drove it far from the the small town in which she lived. Many years ago, she had the car carefully repainted its original metallic gray color and had the original tan top replaced with a black vinyl top. During her last decade of ownership, she embarked on a costly mechanical restoration of the vehicle including a 6,000.00 engine rebuild, new brakes, rebuilt front suspension, rebuilt electrical system including the starter, new exhaust and Coker bias-ply tires. She also had all of the hydraulics rebuilt so that the top, windows and seats would operate as new. Like most conscientious car owners, she kept all receipts, documents, bills and always purchased extra new parts "just in case" she might need them at a later date (these are included in the sale). In 2011, she decided that she was no longer able to care for or drive her beloved Oldsmobile and sold it to us. When we purchased the car, the original interior was too far gone to be usable or comfortable, so a completely new interior was installed using the original as a pattern. The car was inspected front to back, top to bottom and, was found in excellent overall condition. The 303 Rocket V-8 engine runs like new and has very few miles on it since the rebuild. The Hydramatic transmission shifts like new, the suspension and steering is tight and all of the electric and hydraulic components operate as they should. The body is rust and dent free and shows no signs of any damage or repair. The door, hood and trunk margins are excellent and even and the overall body fit is better than most show cars. The trunk is all original including the mat, the dash assembly is excellent including all of the gauges and controls. This two owner (three if you count us!) Oldsmobile is just a great old car. It has a great look and runs and drives like new and its ownership provenance is impeccable. A rare and desirable body style that is read to use and enjoy. Located near Jefferson, WI. 4. jpage- You are right. The Model A spring I have is indeed a 10 leaf, don't know why I typed "8". Thanks for pointing that out.
  5. -Nice original pair of engine pans. These go between the engine and frame and are always missing or rusted out, and the repros. do not fit worth a darn. These need a little easy repair to the mounting ears on the engine side, but are nice and clean and should clean up without any pitting or use as-is on an original car. There is still some original paint left.-SP:D -Original "seamed" inside and outside gas lines and the fuel shut off. They are nice and straight with good original fittings and the valve turns freely but could probably use re-packing. These original lines are a must for show cars as the repros won't cut it with the judges!!! 50.00 for the set of three plus shipping.-SOLD -Nice original Duolamp Taillamp Assembly. Has taillamp, license bracket, fender bracket, both lens, sockets, etc. Nice original or old paint. Great for an original "survivor" car or could be restored. The red lens has a crack but a new, reproduction is included. 40.00-SOLD -Old reproduction rear spring spreader tool for removing and installing Model T or A rear springs, has guides that slip over the axle housings to keep in alignment and tapered ends that fit on the spring eyes to hold firmly in place. Makes a challenging job a lot easier! 55.00-SOLD -Nice original 10 leaf rear spring, correct for sedans, pickups, etc but will fit all years and models. No rust, the leafs are not worn into each other and the shackle holes are not worn. 85.00-SOLD -Nice original front spring assembly. Missing the two top leafs (so there are 8 leafs now). Will fit all models, same condition as above rear spring. Great if you are making a hotrod or using 16" wheels on your car. 45.00-SOLD -Nice original intake manifold, has small weld near carburetor. mounting, hardly visible. 20.00-Still Available! -Reproduction intake manifold. These sell for 85.00 new, this one has never been used or mounted and is still in the original packaging. 55.00-SOLD -Excellent 1928-29 headlamp bar, no pits, super straight, nice old paint. 35.00-SOLD -Complete distributor assembly.Rebuilt using the Nu-Rex modern upper plate that uses modern points/condenser and the wireless lower plate. Complete with two piece shaft, new rotor, distributor body and cap. 85.00-SOLD All prices plus shipping. Email for more photos if interested. PAYPAL accepted. Located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. 6. Here is a 1930 740 Convertible Coupe that was just purchased from a family that owned it since 1953 and the car was restored in the 1960s. These are pretty rare! It will be available soon...
  7. Schwalms has a great reputation and is not to far from you. They do engine rebuilds as well as other component rebuilds such as steering, brakes, trans, etc. Here is their website: Schwalms Babbitted Bearings
  8. Dynamat works well and is a great product. I think you will be happy with the results.
  9. This 1956 Chevrolet bus was built by the Ward Bus body company on a long wheelbase, 1956 Chevrolet big truck chassis. It is powered by a 261 cid "Stovebolt" 6 engine coupled to a dual-range, hydra-matic transmission. The bus was built for the Boeing Aircraft Corporation's Wichita, Kansas factory and presumably used to haul employees and/or give tours through the facility. Boeing used the bus from 1956 until 1965 when it was sold to Kansas State University who owned it until about 2010. This bus is largely original and extremely solid throughout. Recently, it has been mechanically serviced including the brakes, electrical, full engine tune-up, newer radial tires, etc. It starts easily, runs strong and has been comfortably driven at 60 mph. Although the original mileage in unknown, it is likely to be low given the condition of the vehicle and because it was probably never used for anything other than on-site or on-campus trips. It can be used in its current condition or would be an excellent basis for a creative cosmetic restoration. What a great vehicle for tailgate parties, parades, publicity events or just taking friends and neighbors to dinner! Clear title. 12. This car has been sold. Thanks to all those who inquired about it.
  13. Ericmac- Thanks for this information and this bit of touring history. I was not aware who the prior owner was. Thanks again.
  14. These early AACA registries are great resources. Some of them are even combined rosters with the VMCCA. These were printed in the 1950s and 1960s and list the cars by make and the owner. But, the best part of these, is that they list the serial numbers/VINs of the cars, so if you have a 1912 Buick with a VIN number of 12345 you can see who owned it. These books are kind of hard to find, but I am sure the great AACA Library in Hershey might be able to look your car up for you.
  15. The "driver" car in this ad (not the disassembled car) is indeed the same car that sold at the Glenmoor Auction in September. And, yes, it is a really great original and well preserved car and, in my opinion, this "package" is a really great deal for someone.
