  1. Can you find patent information without a patent number? This directional item has only a mfg. and a date. I don't know how the patent information works but curious about it. Thanks!! (PS- I am not great at computers!!!)
  2. Here is a nice all brass taillamp from about 1908 to 1912'ish. It measures about 9" tall. It has a few minor cracks in the brass. It is complete with the burner, thumb nuts, good lenses and a brass bracket. Take a look at the photos. The price is 225.00 including shipping in the USA. Call me at 734-730-4274 or email at motoringicons@hotmail.com Thanks!
  3. That's a great item. Never saw one like this before.
  4. I believe that the library and archives were donated to the Henry Ford Museum-The Henry Ford Collections and Research. There was a HUGE truck(s) that was full of literature when it was donated. Maybe 30++ years ago.
  5. Like the title says... "What Is It" Around 13" overall. Thanks!
  6. The family wants it sold! Call me at 734-730-4274 or email: motoringicons@hotmail.com I can send you lots of photos. This is a good, honest car that needs nothing to enjoy. It's a heckuva deal!
  7. Congratulations on your car. It is great to get a car that you remember as a kid.
  8. Is this the gray SD from San Diego area? (from Plez Nance or a friend of the family?) It's a great car. Congrats.
  9. It is great to see the 1916-1932 "odd ball" cars that are rarely shown. They are appreciated.
  10. You are absolutely right about your comments about the Mecum team. They are professional, helpful, courtesy, respectful and they get the job done for both the sellers and the buyers. They are an amazing team. What really stands out is they treat everyone with the same with courtesy and professionalism-and it doesn't matter if their customers are buying or selling a 5,000.00 car or a 10 million dollar car. This four-day auction in Dallas had about 900 cars (yes, about nine hundred cars) and they spend time with everyone whether they are a buyer or a seller. The "Mecums" are a great group of people-and they act like they are family and the help each other. PS-As you know, your "new" Auburn was part of the Kelsey collection which was offered at this Mecum Dallas auction. Some of those cars have great history. That was a neat collection and there was an interesting group prewar cars. There were some bargains and I am sure there were very happy buyers. You got a great, great, great car!!! And you are going to drive it and not restore it. That's absolutely wonderful. Enjoy it-I know you will!!!!
  11. What a great car with superb provenance. Congratulations.
  12. I think there are about six 40hp 1910ish Velie Model Ds in existence.
  13. Jackson History - The Marion by Mutual Motor Co - Ella Sharp Museum This Marion was restored by a friend about 15(?) years ago.
  14. Ella Sharp Museum in Jackson, Michigan has a nicely restored 1916 Marion touring car in their collection. This car was built in Jackson, Michigan.
  15. Give me a call and I can 'splain it to ya. 734-730-4274
  16. Yup it does. It is about eight miles long depending how you look at it. It "starts" on Monday and peaks on Saturday. If you haven't been, you should go. It's an experience like no other.
  17. Absolutely!!! A 1937 insert engine is the best. 1932-1934 engines have issues-especially the 1932s and 1933s. This car looks like a good deal.
  18. The Model AA is a two- cylinder. I would get a two cylinder magneto from a recent, two- cylinder tractor. Easy to find, very easy to set up, really common and cheap. Put the Splitdorf on the shelf.
