  1. Our newsletter is stapled at the top right corner also and have not had any problems with the 130 pieces we mail each month. I have had a problem with Street Rod Builder from their machines in California. They were aware of the postal problems. I finally changed my address to my wife's name and cured the problem? Go figure! Wayne
  2. Hey, Did anyone notice the attention the Sears was getting in the first picture. Heck, It was an antique even then, from the looks of the people on the sidewalk. The wife said she'd get it right next time. Wayne
  3. pETER, I THINK dAVE@MOON LIVES IN THE CLOUDY AREA OF cINCINATTI. tHE SUN NEVER SHINES OVER HIS HOUSE w.
  4. Flash flood probably got it there a long time ago? W.
  5. Oh, forgot! You don't prequalify. You just show up, after being preregistered of course, and park on the field. They want you around the car during judging to anwser any questions they might have. Hmmmmm, Maybe that's why my "mags" slipped by. I'm glad I wasn't beside my car in Richmond that day. " Hey Man, They look stock to me!!"
  6. 1986, It's true about the big tour taking the guys away from the internet, but the rest of us can guess. I was told the car had to appear stock with no engine changes or modifications that are noticable. The word was mostly stock. Of course, that doesn't discount safety items like radial tires, seat belts and such being allowed. That's why I was worried about my "Cragar" wheels on the otherwise stock wagon. I hate early Chevy hubcaps! I still believe they are finetuning the class. There will probably be other changes next year. Wayne
  7. Peter, Our own Cummins have the same throttle system, but then we use the cruise control most of the time. We've had a couple of the harness's go bad. When that happens, it goes from idle to wide open, nothing in between. Parts are not easily found. Have you truck dealer's phone # handy or keep one in stock after a couple years or so of usage. Wayne
  8. Mr. Hartman, I don't know much about boats & airplanes, but I own a trucking company and can get you "FOUR" nice used road tractors with 500 HP Cummins Engines to put that Yacht anywhere you want to go. I believe I can make a nice living helping you save money. Wayne
  9. Dave@moon, You seem to be ignoring all the little tours that regions across this nation have every month. My region, Northern Neck, Va. had four tours and /or get-togethers, and two cruise-ins just in the month of June. Strong regional clubs are essential in getting exposure for the AACA.As a matter of fact that's where all Officers, and Directors originate from. Without local regional support, where would the AACA be today?

Gentlemen!, The Packard tooling die issue is spoken about in this month's,Sept-2002, issue of Street Rodder on page 154. There are 9 interesting current pictures of the early cars you're speaking of and the innovated ways of keeping them operational. Wayne
  11. Gee Guys, You keep bringing this small block Chevy conversion thing up, I'm going to be calling the National Street Rod Association to see if they're missing a few of their members.Wait a minute, on second thought, maybe you guys are NSRA "spys" trying to steal our devoted AACA members? Wayne
  12. Dynaflash, Still didn't see that trophy tonight! W.
  13. Howard, With Peter's help I hope to have before and after pictures of my authentic hot rod on this forum and help explain it to you. You won't see this car on the AACA show field, but my comments might interest you. I feel like I know you friend. Call me Wayne
  14. Ply33, Thanks for the sympathy. At least with misspelled english, most of us can guess pretty well. Catch ya'll later. Sun comes up early on the East Coast. Wayne
  15. Sorry guys, 134 won't mix with r-12. It raises the head /high side pressures to the point of locking up the compressor. Any refridgerant will work as long as it's all the same and the system has been cleaned of the old r-12. R-134a runs a little higher head pressure and if your system has orifice tubes instead of expansion valves, you'll need to change to a different size/color tube. I mess with big trucks a little bit. Wayne
  16. OK Mike, First I'd wish somebody would tell me how to get the pictures I just sent Mike on this page. They're really good. Now Mike, the picture I sent you is of a 1927 Minerva Sport Sedan owned by Drew Lewis of ?? It was at the Richmond Region National Meet on June 13-16,2002. Please notice the unique "bent "/ windshield. The calipher of cars at this meet were the best I've even seen. If I could stsrt a net site, I've got pictures that would know your socks off. Help me out guys. I'm not stupid just computer ignorant. Wayne
  17. Michael, I'll get back to you tomorrow with the picture. Wayne
  18. Earl, "Real rodders" put lowering blocks on their rear springs and left the bags out. Is that why I've never seen any drag race trophies on your mantle? Wayne
  19. Eddie33. Which hot rodders were you speaking of that wanted the AACA's recognition?
  20. Dave@moon! I get the feeling you're mad at someone or something and I can't figure out where all the hostility is coming from. We all know it's hard to change the future. Sometimes we just have try to see the other person's point of view from their side of the fence. Smile a little more. It'll all be better tomorrow! Wayne
  21. Gosh Howard! Don't ruffle Earl's feathers, I've just got him to acknowledge my 32 rod!
  22. OK Guys, I guess I'll come out of the closet. I'm a hotrodder/streetrodder first and AACA enthusiast secondly. I started with a semi-rodded '55 Chevy, have progressed to a '65 injected corvette, '35 rodded Ford, '56 Chevy Wagon (stock), and lastly a '32 ford highboy with historical value back to '63. I've kept all 4, have friends in both hobbies,as strange as that sounds, and enjoy everybody interested in cars. My point is, I'm on the fence and like it there. I can see and hear views from both sides and hope to help both hobbies perpetuate. Believe it or not, both the Rodding Industry and Antique Enthusiasts are after the same thing, "Keeping Their Hobby Alive". To do that, we have to make it interesting to young people. Young people today are used to the "have it now, flashy, noisy attitude". That's one reason rods are getting a lot of attention from the younger people. The fancy paint jobs; excessive, at times, chromeplating; and the racy exhaust sounds. Now where does that put the AACA? Doug Drake's on the right track, but he needs to let all the kids participate in both or all the programs of the day. Also you need to let the little guys take rides in these cars to pique their interest. I guess I've rambled enough, but the point is the AACA isn't alone in the quest for longevity and fighting among yourselves isn't accomplishing a whole lot. I have other points of interest, if anyone's interested. Wayne
