  1. Ok it is done! They removed rear frame assembly and sent it to the body shop where it was completely sand blasted and the rust around the upper bushing area was repaired. A complete exhaust system was replaced with a Walker after market exhaust 100% including all hangers and clamps. Rusted brake lines were replaced. The parts list is extensive . Bottom line $3551.68 Once again it is a 1989 Riviera Rides smoother! AMEN
  2. As info when I had my 1989 Riviera painted a few years ago they removed allthe side molding and the costs to replace ALL the clips was nearly $200.
  3. I would like to remove vinyl top although some seem to think it makes the car. Painting with this 3 stage paint means the 2 rear fenders and doors will have to be painted which means interior door panels have to be removed. Their is no dusting in or blending in doors and fenders with 3 stage paint. I am on the hunt for another garage. Hope we do not have another winter like last year! Besides I just went for my Lungs repairing the rust on the rear frame. I will update that post soon.
  4. That is the color of my 1989 Riviera. It is a 3 stage paint and requires a good painter to get satisfactory results. Always a upcharge when they paint it. My 89 has a Rosewood vinyl top wish it did not have a vinyl top. My body shop said it would be cheaper to replace the top than remove it and paint the roof. Since my 89 lost its garage to the 99 Riviera tha UV rays are killing the top on the 89.
  5. no one has given a name of a supplier yet!! The part supplier is your choice... The numbers I supplied were GM OEM numbers. Try GM parts direct or your dealer if they give you a good price.
  6. Nic, There is a lot of good free stuff out their. I hear good things about AVG. although I know nothing about it. Your PC will run faster once you dump Norton 360. Comcast gives a Lightweight Norton for free and does not slow down your PC. Check with your service provider bet they have something for free I know Verizon has their own that is free. Good Luck
  7. The car will be going in within the next 3 weeks for the removal and repair of the rust on the rear frame which will include replacement of upper insulators. I understand from the parts man these were extreamly difficult to find. If you have any interest I plan on updating my post that I started on this project a few weeks ago. Once again this is a 1989 Riviera NOT sure about rear being same as Reatta. We are replacing the entire exhaust system with Walker parts for good measure.
  8. Ok Ronnie Here we go. 4 bolts 10409029 4 insulators 1627359 4 spacer 1626368 This was for my 1989 Riviera guess Reatta would be the same ??
  9. Recently had mine done on my 89 Riviera. Parts were a issue BUT had a good parts man locate them. I would suggesting getting them now if you think you will need them in the future. This is required maintenance at some point in time.
  10. Agree. But back to my earlier post. Could not get a good Road Force Balance on Sam's Club Michelin's BUT never had a problem with Tire Rack Michelin tires.
  11. I think I paid about $150 at my Buick dealer. We had all our cars done at time tires were installed even our 91 Skylark. You can locate a Hunter machine by going to their website and using your Zip code. Hopefully you will find a knowlegable tech who knows how to use the machine and will take the time to break down the tire and rotate it on the wheel if necessary to get the best reading. Nic, I do not know if weights can all be placed on the inside of the wheel. Good Luck
  12. Jon It is a expensive way to balance a tire that if properly done will make the car as smooth as glass at highway speeds. Most high end dealers like Cadillac Lincoln and Lexus are required to have the equipment. It would be difficult if not impossiable for me to explain. Do a web Search on Hunter Road Force Balance. Perhaps someone else is familar with the procedure and could explain.
  13. The last set of Michelin's I purchased at Sam's could not be properly Road Force Balanced. Do not know about the quality of tire that Sam's sells BUT never had a problem with Tire Rack.
  14. Nic, I have always used Flepro gaskets. Their was a TSP to use Locktite on the transmission pan bolts, to prevent leaks on the blind bolts. Charlie
  15. As you know you have to purchase a extended warranty before the end of your Bunper to Bumper. You are calling it close. Good Luck
  16. You may want to check and see what the refund amount will be. The quicker you cancel it the larger the refund. They may even have a 30 day grace period where you get a 100% refund. As I said Fidelity has been good to me. If you have a good relationship with the selling dealer let them do the work and you do not have to worry about the deductable. Good Luck
  17. I prefer GMPP with a Zero Deductable. As I stated earlier it was not available on my used 1999 Riviera therefore I purchased the Fidelity Platinum and had the selling dealer do all the work, the deductable was zero and they were happy to do the work. It was a win win.
  18. Fidelity Warranty services has nothing to do with Nissan. They are a stand alone warranty company located in Deerfield beach Florida. My experience with them has been good.
  19. One further comment. Several years ago I purchased a extended warranty from Warranty Gold. Right after I purchased it for about $3500 the company declared Bankruptcy. I called my credit card company and after a short investigation they issued me a credit for the full amount. My investigation with Fidelity is that they are Solid. Seems they must have a relationship with Nissan dealers since the dealer that sold me my Riviera has a Nissan franchise as well. Good Luck
