'65 was the last year for the 409, in '66 the 396 became available. but I understand 396 was really 402 cu.in.

It will fit '56, but I think the color red was '57 only and '56 was black. I also replied to this on Chevrolet/GMC forum.

1957 3100 (1/2 ton) truck V8 hood emblem, the picture I see shows it upside down. It could have been used on other models besides the 3100.

I stand corrected, it turns out the Detroit Diesel 3-71 was used in the Allis Chalmers HD-7 at LEAST as far back as WW2.

In 1952, GMC made the 450-D 2 1/2 ton truck wanting it powered by the 71 series diesel the 6-71 inline six would not fit in the engine bay. So the Detroit Diesel division made the 3-71 an inline 3 cylinder, based on half of a 6-71 series inline 6.

I think it was built circa 1948, 900 series.

This car would have Ford's central fuel injection system, it's ok when it's working properly, hard to diagnose when it's not. The Sequential Fuel injection would not be available until 1986, but even with it, a Crown Vic would only have the standard 302/5.0 liter @ 150 H.P. The 302/5.0 liter H.O. 225 H.P. engine was only found in the Mustang GT and the Lincoln Mark Vll. If this car was manufactured in Canada it could have the 351 with the variable venturi carburetor.

The one in the foreground looks like a Fiat 850 Spider, '56 Buick on the left, '55-'59 GMC truck top left.

Looks like 1939-'40, cabover would be wider and flat looking.

The last year for the El Camino/Sprint/Cabellero was 1987.

Right, the Bel air model has two rows of chrome trim on it's sides.

1949-'50 Chevrolet could be either 2102(two door) or 2103 (4 door) sedan.

The '57's, I've seen had bulges on the hood with bull nosed ends, like the one in the picture at top. At least the hood is '57, the cab could be '55 second series thru '59. The '57 Chevrolet car had the "gun sights".

Is the truck a 1957 Chev ? The '55 second series and '56, didn't have the ribbed bulges on the hood, and on the '58 and '59 they went almost all the way down on the front.

There was a seamless one piece bumper that people called the "California" bumper. They say it came with cars made there. Other's say CA. and Canada. Might be hard to find an original, as they are popular. I think one can made from a 3 piece, but it might be pricy. The aftermarket makes them, but I don't know about the quailty of them. They also made what's been called a seamless or boxed frame, I understand.

On the '61 Ford o matic 2- speed, the tag should be on a servo cover bolt driver's side. The three speed on the one of the oil pan bolts. Small, medium and large case length for the 3 speed, small: 9 7/8" med:10 7/32 large: 10 7/8. According to what engine you have. If it's a V-8, I'm guessing you have the medium case. Not sure. I think the large case was for Lincolns.

If it had a Pontiac 400, it could have a automatic OR a 4-speed, with 180 horsepower.

Should have an automatic.The 185 horsepower Oldsmobile 403 Trans Am's were automatic only. Ask the owner if he has the grille pieces. I see an evaporator box, but no compressor. Does it come with the original Q-jet? I think that Holley will suck too much gas anyway. WS6 suspension should list P225/70R15 on the tire placard.

I've thought about this, and the only thing I could think of is, that this could be for a engine used in commercial vehicles or industrial use. There might be something unusual about this engine, a gasoline and spark assisted diesel used for starting??? Then ran on diesel??? I'm thinking 1920's or '30's. Does anyone else know of anything like this?
