As they say, "One step forward, and two steps back."
I have three chains to install. The main chain for the cam and crankshaft is now installed, but as you can see below the two "smaller" chains that drive the accessories are each too short, UGH. This at least should be something I can fix with Ramsey Products who manufactures the chains and determined the lengths. @Matt Harwood I am beginning to understand your pain with the car that shall not be named. 😀

Hi 29 Chandler, what's the best way to get in touch and send you that info? Apparently I don't have enough posts in this forum to send private messages. Send me one with your contact info?
Just sent you a PM with my email address.

I have a friend in the Detroit area with a 15 or 16 Chandler if my memory serves me. Like a 60’s back yard restoration done decent light blue and black fenders touring car. If interested let me know, and I will send you his contact info, as he told me a while back he was going to offer it for sale.
Hey Ed,
Hope you are doing better! If you get a chance can you share with me the information on the Chandler. I may already have it, but always good to follow up all the leads on these rare early cars.
Thanks!

I’m trying to get the ElectroLock cable/swivel off of the Delco Remy distributor of my ‘28 Chandler. I want to do away with it and go to an insulated stud through the distributor housing and am having a tough time getting it disconnected. It has a flat-sided stud and a nut inside the Delco. The stud turns. I’d love to get to the inside of the “armored” section to hold the stud so the nut could be dealt with. Any tips?
1929wilbur can you post some pictures? I have a similar setup on my 1929 Chandler with an Autolite distributor, which was correct only for the 1929 Chandler cars.

Looking at their website, it appears they are only open three days before they close; this
Friday and Saturday, and February 10.
And no tickets available to get into the museum, I tried!

Hi starscreamer65,
I'll be happy to post this and pictures if you can provide them in the next Chandler-Cleveland newsletter. There are a few Cleveland cars left and if I owned this model I would love to have a set of doors for it. These might even fit a Chandler from the same vintage??

Ed I'm interested in his information as I am trying to track down all surviving Chandler=Cleveland cars for our Registry. I also have a bit of a bias as we are caretakers of a 1914 Chandler, would love to connect with another early Chandler owner.

Thank you for the reply.
I would be coming from the Temecula area and there is always traffic on the 15 and the 91.
Always.
Unfortunately you are so correct.

My DD is my pair of hiking shoes. Work is just two miles each way. I have always thought that short distance would do more harm than good to my car/truck. Had a 2002 Honda Insight for a while, great car that got 50 mpg, but with the short commute the batteries could not go through their programmed maintenance cycle, thus we went through 4 sets of batteries under warranty. It was not until the last replacement that Honda finally told the dealer that the customer has to drive the car more. Sold the car after that.
For all-round use our 2008 F150 5.4L has been fantastic! Does everything we need it to, tows our car trailer, hauls our family all all our stuff on vacations, easy to park in town, and safe on the freeways. We love this truck and are happy so far with 230k with routine maintenance all done in my driveway. Expect to get another 200k out it.

Honestly the best place to see the cars is before the tour in the morning. Once the tour starts the groups tend to go their different ways. All of the tour participants head off and the rest of the cars that were not eligible (pre-1932 and stock) go off on their own adventures. The route is a secret until you get your tour instructions. So at this point I could not tell you where to read off to, to see the most cars.
There will be very little traffic early Sunday morning.

Jake here are some pictures of the car that I have from the Eastwood family while the car was in the Rose Parade, I think in 1993.
Warwick Eastwood is at the wheel of this grand car.

It may be worthwhile to contact Alan Jones here in Australia who does the Hupmobile Register which also caters for Chandler vehicles. At the very least he can place an ad in "Chandler corner" alerting people to this newsletter.

Hi Fordy,
Thanks for the tip. Can you send me his email address and I will send him a copy of the newsletter.
Thanks

Last call for Chandler-Cleveland enthusiasts for our first newsletter in a while. We hope to share this with every owner of a Chandler or Cleveland motor car from 1913 to 1929. Drop me a message if I can include you on the email list for the first issue, no strings attached.

I missed it, thank you for sharing. They did a wonderful job.
Happy Holidays!

Claudio,
I think I see the reason you have not located the serial number of the car. The vacuum canister mounted to the firewall is probably covering it. It should be mounted on the right side of the firewall, same side the carburetor is located. It should also be a Kingston model which was original to just the 1929 cars. Yours looks like the much more common Stewart-Warner unit. If you remove that I hope that you will find the factory serial number plate riveted to the firewall, see below. Ignore the fact that there are twice as many wires running through t he firewall, I was in the process of replacing all of the original wires and left the old ones in place until I had the new wires completely run.
Towing Vehicles: 2wd vs. 4wd

I wish I had a picture of my wife splattered with mud from the last time our 2WD truck got stuck in a field with wet grass. Snapping a photo of here would not have been in my best interest 🫣
From my experience while I wish I had 4wd for those times I could have used it, I'll save the extra cash in gas and maintenance and stick with 2wd.
