  1. Hi All, I am looking for the heat-riser pipe that goes over the top of the engine from the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold for my 1927 6 cylinder Stearns-Knight. I believe that it was originally a cast piece with a porcelain coating. Please see the attached photo. Thank you. Steve

  5. Bill, Thank you for your comments. There have been several Willys-Knights and at least one Falcon-Knight on eBay recently. I hope you find one. I don't know why this forum is not in alphabetical order, but will try to find out. Steve
  6. Hi, I am looking for a light switch for a 1927 Stearns-Knight. It is a stalk that sticks out on the right side of the steering column just below the steering wheel. I am told the the same switch was used on the Willy-Knight Model 66B. It can be seen just to the left of the gear shift knob in the attached photo. Thanks. Steve

I am looking for information on the exact original material used and any leads to someone who can do a very high quality replacement job who is in the Southern California area. Steve
  12. I have been speaking with Eric Haartz of the Haartz Corporation. He said the material is seldom used today but is trying to get me a sample. In the meantime, I need to find someone in Southern California who can do a very high quality job of replacement of the top insert. If anyone has had a good experience with a trimmer who can do such work, I would like to hear from you. Thank you. Steve

  15. Steve_Mack_CT, I didn't know any of the cars prior history. I would be very interested in any details you may have about it's past ownership A.J., I am already out of room. I'm afraid I will be selling a few cars this coming year...but not the Pierce. I sold 3 cars in 2014. I need to sell 3 more.

  17. It was $20 to have them copy down the information. I have been emailing back and forth with the Ford Research Center. They finally went back to the ledger where the information is and verified that they copied it badly and that it was actually P.G. with makes the color "P.G. & D.S". So the original color combination was Pyramid Gray and Desert Sand with a chariot red stripe, which was an actual color combination used on the victoria coupes. There was not an individual sheet for the car, just the ledger, according to them. They would do additional work for an hourly rate.

I have been doing some research and I think that the researcher that wrote down P.B. really wrote down, in very sloppy handwriting, "P.G." which would stand for Pyramid Gray which was a two tone color scheme used with Desert Sand. This color scheme was, in fact, used on 1930 Lincoln Victoria Coupes. As for the trim number, 1605, I have found no other information, so any help is appreciated. I will check back with Ford about a decoder page for the trim. Thanks again. Steve
  19. I just got a build sheet from the Ford Archives for a 1930 Lincoln and I have some questions.The color is listed as P.B. & D.S. on the sheet. I am thinking that the abbreviations mean something starting with a P Brown and Desert Sand. Does anyone have documentation showing available color schemes for 1930 Lincolns? The trim number is 1605. Does anyone know what this code means? On the "Other Information" line it says "18-Long Island" with a legend of "Code to Designate Branch". Is this the distributor or dealer where the car was shipped initially? Thank you in advance for any help or information you can provide. Steve

  21. The odometer shows 40975. I will definitely clean the pan before attempting to start the car. I wiped the dirt off the chrome and it was shiny as you can see in the photo. The car is complete but there are a few things missing: Side Mount Locks and Arms (2) Drivers Side Rear Seat Vanity Dash Board Cigar Lighter Ignition Switch and Key Throttle Lever for Steering Column Under Horn Button (the original one is with the car but broken off) Front and Rear Bumper Back Bars (the ones on the car are both broken)
  22. Mike, The car came from Missouri where it had been in a shed for probably at least 30 years. It is very complete and in generally good condition except the interior which appears to have been infested with squirrels. I cleaned out two 30 gallon garbage bags of nut shells and stuffing that covered every inch of the interior. I took a few photos after I cleaned out the inside. I still haven't had a chance to clean the outside except that I did wipe off the radiator shell and headlights. The tires were flat and hard as a rock so after I get some new tires under it I will be able to roll it outside to clean up the exterior. The serial number and engine number were not listed in the Franklin Club Directory so it may be that the car was not generally known. Steve

  24. I just got a new 1929 Franklin 135 sedan (at least new to me) and it has this thing on the intake manifold. I have seen many Franklins before but none with this device. Is it a top oiler or something else? Is it factory or after-market? Thanks. Steve
