1. Was it Frank's or Frank Jr.'s?
2. My first Reatta had been in the Phoenix sun long enough to deteriorate the taillens to the point it was difficult to keep polished. I took it to a body shop and had it clear coated. It looked good as new, maybe better, and no more polishing was required.
3. In today's (Fri. 7/19/02) Las Vegas Review- Journal:
90 Reatta convertible, white w/burgundy interior, 112k miles, Exc. cond. Asking $5000. Call 702/369-2222.
4. An '89 could have been built in late '88. The usual model change takes place around Sept. more or less. The 10th character of the VIN is J in '88 and K in '89.
5. Those RX7 headlights shown don't look too bad. There are projecture lights, smaller, available from other vehicles if needed.

91 TPI

All that work and expense for 5 horsepower? You'd need to also change the axle ratio to get the performance of the '91. The '91 isn't a heck of a lot better performer than previous models to start with.
7. Padgett, Isn't the Transport plastic all the way around?

Vandalized

I customized a Chevy pickup a dozen years ago, was white with candy apple graphics. Came out of a restuarant one evening and some [censored] had drug a key down the side. Back to the custom painter, cost more to repair than to have done in the first place. I'd still like to find out who did it.
9. White mud flaps with red lights.
10. I've been trying for a week to place an order with gmparts direct but keep getting a "site error" message and the order will not go through. Any one else have this problem?
11. Go to Buick Club of America, click on "membership", fill out form and e-mail or snail mail with your check. Then send $10 to Nancy Eaton, treasurer, for Reatta Division membership. Nancy is at 20111 Deerfield Dr., Georgetown,TX, 78628. No photos needed.
12. In today's (6/29/02) Las Vegas Review Journal:
1990 Reatta convertible, 63k miles, $7500 obo
Don, 702/804-6706.
13. I finally purchased the convertible I,ve lusted for. Got a high dollar one out of New Mexico. A 1990 burgundy/burgundy with white top, no accessories, and has 17,500 miles.
I put new rollers in the headlights and with a little detailing will be a standout.
I had the pleasure of visiting with Barney a few minutes a couple days ago, Nancy too. Swell folks.

Rear Lense

Delores, if moisture is not the issue and appearance is the problem, have your body shop clear coat and polish the lens, will look good as new forever.
15. Just guessing, I'd say it was 8 1/2 to 9 inches wide by the stoplight and tapered down as it curved around beneath the glass. It was in the car when I bought it, I would have kept it if the color matched the one I traded for.
16. Fits on the flat area at base of rear glass on what would be the "package tray" of a regular sedan. The one I had on the '90 I sold looked good, fit well.

CD Player

Just tell prospective buyers that an inoperative disk player is common among cars of that age. They were among the first available and were not as high tech as present players. Your tape player probably doesn't function well either.
Why not describe your convertible for sale on this site?
18. Yep. Should work, just more effort than you usually use.
19. The lock on the hatch is different from the other locks in that turning the key moves the locking mechanism on the sides of the hatch, taking more effort. Pressing on the hatch, rearward, while turning the key may make it easier to turn. The other locks, (rear compartments, glove box) only require the key to spin the lock cylinders.
20. Curious. How did he get in?
21. Most tow companies have a kit with tools and instructions to open any vehicle. A "lock out" call is usually not as high as a hookup. Do you know anyone that has a slim jim?

Battery drain?

A few years agoI had a Diehard installed in one of my cars. It had a dead cell. Sears replaced it and the replacement had a dead cell. The third one was a winner.
You may want to check the battery.
23. Barney says the screw is there if the lamp has never been removed. If thelamp has been removed, the screw will not be there because it would be virtually impossible to put back. Been there, done that.
24. Trofeo, That was the way mine acted as the fuel pump was on its way out.
