  1. The annual Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour is making one of their overnight stops in beautiful downtown Kingman,AZ tonight. Many cars on display, lots of vendors, and plenty of car nut excitement. One '91 Reatta in the mix, White cpe w/red interior from Pennsylvania. Visited with the owner a moment, says he cruises with the best of them and gets his share of comments.
  2. If you change the beam so that it doesn't project under fog, the glare makes them ineffective. Too much brightness may have the same effect. An aftermarket driving light may be a better choice if you don't drive in pea soup. Should be able to find some to fit the openings.
  3. Well said RawjaNYC. I'm just going to polish mine and drive it for for fun on occasion. Well see if it turns out to be a good investment. If it increases in value good, if if it doesn't, have't lost that much and made up for it in pleasure of ownership.
  4. Barney, I'd be a player.
  5. Try Barney. I understand he has them and at a reasonable price.
  6. carz60, What was the result of your impromptu research? The wrecking yard in Phoenix Showed 5 of 6 wet. This in dry AZ.<BR>
  7. Was there an accessory trunk mat available for Reattas?
  8. Boy, is my face red. The lens I replaced was indeed full of water. I drilled a small hole in each end of the back and drained it. Now to figure a way to flush it. I have air to blow it dry. The original leak, top edge in the curve, and the holes I drilled can easily be plugged with silicon.
  9. Two or three weeks ago my '91 cpe was parked at the curb and I pulled in behind it in another car. Dark. Headlights on. The right side reflector shone brightly, the left one didn't shine at all. Closer inspection revealed the left one was dark along the bottom half and was not like the other one. I got part nos. and prices for new ones, but before ordering I happened to be in Phoenix (200 miles away) and went by <BR>Speedway. I explained the problem to the apparent owner. We inspected 6 Reattas and only one had matching reflectors. After much discussion and looking, we concluded the items must have been made by different vendors. No apparent reason for them to have different appearances. I now have matching reflectors. His price wasn't all that bad, $65. A new one is $63 and may not match. I wonder how many mis-matches are out there?
  10. I hate to admit what I did. The turn bulb was burned out, I removed it the old way by<BR>wiggling and pulling instead of just turning to release. I had to remove the lamp to silicon the parts back together. Took me about four hours which included a trip to buy<BR>the wrench and the replacement bulb. If I had bought the bulb before I started I would have seen how to remove it. But NO, like the last Xmas toy I assembled, I read the instructions after I got in trouble.
  11. I removed and replaced one of my parking light assemblies. The service manual photo<BR>shows three bolts holding it in. The text<BR>accompanying the photo states there are five<BR>bolts. There are actually four. You need a <BR>7mm socket on an extension to get to three of the bolts that you reach from the bottom<BR>of the lamp. You need an open end wrench to get to the other which is on the top side of the lamp. You may have a hard time locating<BR>that one and you probably won't get it back<BR>in. The other three are holding just fine.<BR>Be sure and use a jack stand when you jack it<BR>up.
  12. Try Faxon's Auto Related Publications, Riverside, CA 800/458-2734
  13. I wonder if the raised letters were to be buffed they'd be white underneath?

    Rear Struts?

I was hoping you were going to say, "chop the cotter keys".

    New generation

Yo Raptor, All Reattas are not problem makers. My '90 cpe has 80k on it and operates like it should. The headlights pop <BR>up, the sun roof goes back and forth, the<BR>brakes work properly, and I don't even have to polish the taillens since the body shop<BR>cleared it. The touch screens in the '88 &<BR>'89 models are fun to operate and will amaze your friends. A local fellow even operated a<BR>killer stereo from his. Lots of Reattas for sale out there, 104 on Auto Trader. Get the<BR>cleanest lowest mileage one you can find and<BR>afford and Go For It.<P>For what it's worth, we didn't have to walk to school barefooted in the snow when we were growing up. No snow on the Texas coast. In the afternoons we earned pocket<BR>change by catching mosquitoes, harnessing<BR>them, and we used them to drill post holes <BR>for the local ranchers.
  18. A tire shop may have a remover. It's a hard-<BR>ened steel gadget with a serrated, cone-shaped innard that is driven over the locknut<BR>and accepts a half inch breakover bar.<P>I had a set on one car that the tire shop<BR>worked all morning to remove and I had the<BR>correct socket. Another time, a car I purchased used had lost the socket and I<BR>hunted down the above remover. These occurances were so unpleasant I have removed<BR>two sets of locknuts from new vehicles. I think it would be less hassle to have the wheel stolen.<BR>
  19. The party in Phoenix with the '90 60 Special<BR>convertible is again advertised today (8/18)<BR>at $15,000, a grand lower than last week.<BR>79K, original owner. Says showroom cond.<BR>602/249-6645
  20. The ad as in the Phoenix paper states $15000<BR>or best offer.
