1. Thought I'd move this back up to the top so a few more people might see it.
 2. I'll take a look, I might have a used support but probably not an extra retainer
 3. The 1977 and 1978 Riviera was nothing more than a dressed up LeSabre. I know, I owned a '77 Riviera. I think that had a lot to do with the 20xxxx sales figure
 4. I'd just love to be able to buy a production Blackhawk; or, for that matter a production Y-Job
 5. That will put you onto one of the worst, if not the worst roads in america, I-95 south of Washington. Unless you're going to travel in the wee hours you will end up hating yourself.
Well, you can follow Rt 495 to Rt 5 to Rt. 301 south.
If you use Rt. 15 find a way to get over to Rt 17 South to Fredericksburg, VA. I can't quite remember....I think that means getting onto Rt 29 to Warrenton, VA and then picking up Rt. 17
 6. No 8-track, right? I think there were two kinds of skirts, long and short, aren't I right?
 7. Now I have to try and get out the three extra copies of my suggestion. Having a little computer problem here
 8. At first the computer wouldn't post, so I hit the button a few more times. Result: 4 posts of the same info....sorry
[ 03-23-2002: Message edited by: Dynaflash8 ]

 10. This is important. Whatever you do, do not drive I-95 between Washington DC and Fredericksburg, VA. It is beyond awful at any time other than about 3 AM in the morning. (similar to I-4 thru Orlando, FL but worse).
Come down I-83 to the Baltimore Beltway and follow that (south I guess...but toward Glen Burnie MD) to I-97 South. Be very careful when you come to the fork in the road below Glen Burnie and take MD Rt. 3 South toward Crofton and Bowie. At the fork signs point to Richmond by following I-97 further toward Annapolis, but it is out of the way and further, and you run the risk of missing the turn.
Further south it becomes Rt. 301. Follow Rt. 301 thru Waldorf and LaPlata, MD and across the Potomac River Bridge ($3 toll) and continue to follow Rt. 301 until you'll see signs to I-95 at Bowling Green, VA. Take those signs and move back to I-95 and follow directions to Richmond.
There are a lot of lights on Rt. 3 and 301, but trust me as a native, if you drive south on I-95 you will rue the day, especially in the area of Lorton, VA.
Some people from this area go to Carlisle by way of I-81 and Rt 15 to avoid all the Baltimore-Washington traffic but it is considerable further.

 12. You've made the right decision if you care about winning. You'll be in a tough class to start with, and giving up 15 points off the top would put you at a terrible disadvantage. Apparently your Vette is a 1968, so the bias tire is sort of an obvious choice. Us old guys drove on them most of our lives and we got by during those times.
My problem has been more difficult in that I am restoring a 1971 Buick Riviera which came with H78x15 narrow white walls, or with J78x15 as an option. Another option was the H70x15 wide oval. I do believe I can prove too, that various radial options for this car were available, based on the information on the inside of the glovebox door; however, none of those sizes is available.
I would not consider a nearest size because all of them are smaller. So, no sooner did I buy five beautiful new P225R75x15 2-inch white wall Goodyears, then Corky Coker is bringing out the J78x15. First, I want to thank Coker Tires as this new tire is certainly appreciated; Second I will tell you I've ordered the first five to come in, and Third does anybody want those beautiful Goodyear's? My new Buick runs 16-inch tires, as does my Suburban
[ 03-23-2002: Message edited by: Dynaflash8 ]
[ 03-23-2002: Message edited by: Dynaflash8 ]
 13. In the latest issue of the BUGLE there is a picture of a 1922 Buick Touring car that was shown at the 2001 Buick Car Show held by the B.O.O.M. Chapter in Maryland. The lady standing beside the car is identified as Betty Whiteford.
I cannot find any Whiteford in BCA or AACA Rosters. I tried contacting B.O.O.M. but the person did't know the owner, as he or she was not a member of the B.O.O.M Chapter, and the telephone numbers for the Registration people he gave me were incorrect.
Does anybody know who may own this car? I would like to talk to the owner. My grandfather had an identical car, and this one pictured is the first one I've ever seen that is exactly like the picture I have of my grandfather's car.
Does anybody know what the Model # of this particular 1922 Buick is? Finally, did the 1921 Buick of the same model look the same?
BCA #55
buickman@crosslink.net
[ 03-23-2002: Message edited by: Dynaflash8 ]
[ 03-23-2002: Message edited by: Dynaflash8 ]
 14. Would like to find a 1939 Buick 46-C convertible coupe, at a realistic price, restored or unrestored. Would be picky on equipment and color of a restored car.
Also need NOS only for 1971 Buick Riviera, rear trunk emblem "RIVIERA by Buick", headlingt doors, cornerning light chrome doors/surrounds, and grille, front bumper license plate surround/bumper guard section. All other chrome has been re-done, but will consider other NOS chrome anyway.

 16. Does it have the sweep spear molding on the sides and fender skirts? AM-FM Sterio 8-track? And, is the AC cold? Any rust whatsoever?
 17. There's a guy reproducing this one for $25. How about the 1971 trunk script?
 18. Actually NTX5467 I think you hit it right on the head, and it's a shame. The Blackhawk is the nicest thing to come out of Buick Motor Division in years. Put a more realistic engine in it in this time of gasoline price increases (have you looked lately, up 15 cents in two weeks!!) and it would turn heads around like the PT Cruiser did. And even tho my current lousy 2001 Park Avenue has made me swear off of a Buick the next new car after having owned 43 in my life, I'd buy one of those Blackhawks just for the looks. I have heard it was built over some GM executive's "dead body" and is suffering the consequences. I was told he said "Buick is a senior citizens car". Guess he was right, I'm a senior citizen But, heck that was second hand information, so maybe none of that information was true.
[ 03-22-2002: Message edited by: Dynaflash8 ]

[ 03-22-2002: Message edited by: Dynaflash8 ]
 19. Did they remove the after-market sealed-beam headlight conversions and reinstall the hide-away headlights as were original to the car? When I saw it at the Buick Showroom in Flint at the BCA National Show in 1971 it appeared as modified.
 20. Is that right? Hmmmm. Then why isn't the Buick Blackhawk out there as a true show car and true concept car? It's the best looking automobile that has ever been put out there, and it uses a lot of REAL beauty lines, not mottled up modern computer concept variations like the Chevy truck.
 21. No. The 1939 Buick radiator was the last one that was not pressurized. The 1940 Buick radiator was built for a 7 pound pressure cap. This is true all series
 22. 1942-48 would be the same. 1941 would be
different from both 1940 and 1942. 1939
would be the same as 1940, unless you're
talking about a 1940 Super or Roadmaster
in which case it would be different from
all of the above. That probably doesn't
help too much, but it might.
