1. How about a 1956 Chrysler 300? What a car! It would look great chaperoning those two!
2. Great looking cars, Bob. Love the Imperial. They make a great pair indeed.
3. Howard, are you familiar with Padre Antonio Soler? I have an album of Igor Kipnis playing his music from the 17th century called 'Fandango'...it is marvelous. Yes this has been a very interesting and refreshing thread. My mother is a big opera fan. I am more of a Baroque fanatic, but I love it all....classical, Renaissance...Madrigals, especially Oratorios. I guess that is why I play the harpsichord (when I can find one). Someday, I'll build one but for now the electric piano is a decent substitute..yeah and a Bugatti on the side! Now there is an image....a beautiful summer home in Nice, a 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic (deep blue) in the courtyard, and a Flemish double manual in the music parlour. Sigh.
4. Hi 66deville, and Welcome to the forum! As a matter of fact, if you go out on eBay and search on '1966 Cadillac manual' you should find one available. The shop manuals are being reproduced as well as having originals available for reasonable prices. The shop manual has all of the electronic schematics in the back of the book. There are also specifically released electrical manuals available. Let us know what you find! Good luck!
5. Are you all talking about "Have Gun, Will Travel" starring Richard Boone from 1963? Great show...loved his symbol.
6. I have seen several of the new Chevy pickup-convertible-things in the Denver area. You know the old saying, ' a fool and his money is soon parted'. Yes Spring is here! I was out cleaning the congealed oil off the driveway today, and started working on the old car! What a beautiful day it is too!! 65 and brightly sunny..,.you would never have known it snowed like winter yesterday!!!
7. John, that is so true. The Swastika was a sun and spiral symbol used by the peoples that invaded the Indian continent, believed to be Aryans. Aryan is a linguistic type common to those people from the north and west of Europe and Russia. You see these symbols early on in the Rig Veda, an early Aryan text, from India. However, aboriginal rock carvings in Australia also use the angular spiral or swastika that pre-dates 32000 years ago. Of the ancient or pre-historic symbols, the spiral, both clockwise (deosil) and counter-clockwise (widdershins), is found to be most common. The commonly held belief is that they represent not the sun but the movement of the stars in the Milky Way especially in the southern hemisphere. Most symbols that have become part of Jung's Archetypes are celestial in origin and nature. Luck was believed to be had if the direction was in the same line as the sun's path, and against you if counter-clockwise. The Ancient (prehistoric) Greeks believed that the blood flowed with the sun, and at death, it reversed to flow counter-clockwise. This became part of the vampyre legends in the Baltic and Mediterranian area where the 'blood is the life' idea rooted. In South East Asia it was the breath the vampyre stole. Etc. Etc. Etc. Gee that was fun!!!
8. I will check and see! Of course I am not in the position to buy right now... But one just never knows!
9. What a lovely car that would be, Debby. My Grandfather McGrew had a green 1952 Chrysler New Yorker sedan which I remember very fondly...I used to play in it and my Uncle's 1951 Buick Roadmaster. Therein lies the beginnings of my love affair with cars! My Dad also owned a 1948 Chrysler New Yorker. The McGrews were a Chrysler family until the early 60s. That pink 1962 Dodge was the killer. What an UGLY car!! What are you going to do with it? Curious minds want to know!
10. My sincerest condolensces to Mr. Miller's family, and to all who loved him. It was very sad news indeed. The world was a better place with a good man in it. While I did not know him personally, I can certainly see how he has effected those around him. Obviously, his loss will be felt for a long while.
11. My 1981 Chevy truck is the inline 6 and has a three on the tree. I love it. It is a great truck...good mileage and a lot of fun to drive. Recently I rode in a 1941 Cadillac Series 60 Special with a column shift. It was about as smooth a riding and driving car I have ever been in. Wish my '47 had the manual on the column.
12. Welcome to the Forum Big Jake. Great picture! If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask. All the moderators and administrators are here to help in any way we can.
13. I will keep my eyes out for it but I would call the Colorado State Police and report it stolen.
14. 47 here, Mike and I remember Underdog too...not to mention Crabby Appleton.
15. Nice work, Peter. Love the new look and feel. I'll give the spell checker a run for its money too!
16. Welcome to the forum, Dave! Glad to have you onboard. If you get the chance, post some pictures of your Buick in the Collectable Automobile Photo Post. Be sure to let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
17. Right after Cadillac, Jan! hehehe Couldn't resist!

1981 Packard

I think it is a nice car...not a Packard, or is it? But then it is still a unique vehicle. What is the story on this car? Does anyone know?
22. Dinosaur? Hehe...the only one of those is me. Silly people,...anyway, sorry I missed this exchange over the last day or two. I will be more attentive...I promise!
23. I keep a dictionary and ... now spell this... a thesaurus next to my computer. But I love language ; you can also use the online dictionary at http://www.dictionary.com . It's OK and gives you access to several definitions. But the spellchecker is meant to help correct spelling errors on the fly so you can work without too many distractions. I just wanted to offer you all some ideas. That's me...Mr. Helpful.
24. Aside from hardware problems, spellchecking is available if you buy a third party software, or use a current desktop program like Word as an interface to your browser. I believe IE will allow that. At the very least, you can write your responses in Word, check it, grammer check it (although I don't trust that engine at all), even flesch score it...then copy, and paste the finished post into a new post here on the forum. I do not know this program set but I suspect if it came with SpellCheck, you would have it available. Check into the third party solution. They will often run as a TSR or on top of the system invisibly. This could mean more system utilization, but given the systems available I think it should be limited. Give it a try.
25. A beautiful car, Keith! Congratulations....it is a marvelous car.
