Lamar, I sold a car this year to a guy from Sweden but I had an email address in my contact. He may have had a spotter here that noticed your car. email me at dasgroup@yahoo.com for more details or if you have the man's name.

It was optional.

This car is only about 20 minutes away from me and I have never heard about it. Maybe somebody told him he could make a fortune with it on ebay. I'll have to ask some of the older members around here if they know anything about it.

Does anyone remember Buick offering a retrofit kit for the dual master cylinder around 67-70????? I thought I remember seeing something about it but didn't or couldn't get a part#.
thanks

Does a dual master cyclinder on a 64 count as modified or is it a safety improvement exempt from the period requirement? I think there was a GM retrofit upgrade kit available in 66/67. Lose the brakes once in a single master system and you won't ever think twice about it being a safety item. What about the Buick Road wheels? Not correct for a 64 Riv but for a 64 Wildcat and later years Rivs? If allowed do they have to be the 64 color/style or can they be later years?

I think what he is looking for is the chrome single snorkel from a 66 Wildcat GS. The only problem is it wont fit on a Carter carb. I did see a stock chrome dress up kit on ebay a couple of weeks ago.

You definitely do not use a proportioning valve but a distribution block. Proportioning valve are only if you have front disk brakes. I have a spare 67 distribution block you can have for $20.

I just received some NOS parts for my 64 Riv but the part #'s aren't in a 64 parts book. The numbers may have been updated. If anyone can identify the years/model these parts go to I would be greatly appreciative.

I still wonder if it is a real GS. Maybe that is why the seller is dumping it so quickly.
Larry
-
Interesting thought. Maybe he got it then realised all of the problems with it and thought he could dump it on ebay. $40K for that car is huge, especially with no documentation.
Larry
-
Just because it has low milage does not mean it does not need work. Which fluids were you going to have replaced? How long has it been sitting with out being driven? It may need brakes, radiator/cooling work, trans work, the fuel tank dropped and flushed and fuel lines flushed/replaced, tires, and exhaust, hoses and belts. If the fluids had any contamination in them prior to the car being put away along with any moisture in the air, there could be some serious problems. How long was it in Michigan before being moved to Florida. Any rust issues?
All that being said, I think we need more information to be able to give qualified opinions on what it may be worth.

I have a repro one available. Email me at dasgroup@yahoo.com. No air cond bracket though.

Pat,
There is much incorrect about that car, the least of which is not the tach. It is a base model with a custom interior color that you couldn't get in that model. There are problems with the trunk cardboard, the reserve is out of this world, and there is NO documentation on the car. I am convinced it is not a real GS, no facts, just a real strong gut feeling about the car because so much is wrong.

Does anyone know what the correct tach for 64 is, 7K or 6K? I have a 6K in my Riv now and a 7K that needs repair in my desk drawer. The 64 Chassis manual shows a 7K in the installation guide but I thought that 62 was the last year for the 7K tach.
thanks

I have the #624 white deluxe interior in my 64 Riv and the dash pad, steering wheel, and carpet were all black from the factory. Also the seat belts were black.
