  1. The only "mod" that I have made to my car is adding a dual reservoir master cylinder.  Having lost brake function twice in first gen Rivs, this mod was a no brainer.  Is this car currently eligible for the driven class?  Never restored but completely repainted in the early 80's so archival is out. Too many condition issues to even think about 400 pt judging.

  2. Seller has 40 other cars listed on CL currently.  Front seat belt looks like it was added much later, retracted style.  Silver air cleaner and silver intake, with green block NOM?????

a few years ago,I looked at a 66 Wildcat advertised by a dealer, GS numbers matching.  It was neither. I looked at the stampings on the block and told them what it was. seller went in back found some book and confirmed it was a NOM 401. Not a real GS either.  Might be looking at similar situation here, a dealer with no real idea what the cars is.

  3. No VIN or pict of the data plate provided either. Look at last pict of engine, is there a data tag on the firewall? Looks like a 64 master vs the 63 but hard to tell. Green original engine in a 63? Hard to read the emblems on the door wood inserts.  I'm getting some old eyes.  Could there be a 65 gear selector?

  4. I've bought the our last couple of used cars off Craigslist.  Local and cash or cash equivelent. No needing to get wife's permission or bank approval. Didn't make an offer or talk price before seeing the car, and if interested made a reasonable but not insulting offer. Got a couple of really great cars, missed on a couple, one by a maybe a few hundred, a couple other by $1K or more. Somebody wanted them more than I did. Like ebay, know where your max $$$ is and be ready to make the deal or walk away.  For the larger $$$ transactions I have asked how they want payment and even had one offer to meet me at my bank to get a Cashiers ck that we both knew to be good, I also avoid all if they don't have title in their name and no lein. Title must be available for inspection.

I sold one car on CL and did get the super lowball offers without seeing the car.  I think they are like spammers, throw enough of them ot and someone will take the bait.

  5. Here are a couple of picts of my bracket that matches the one on my car.  I've also included links to a couple of ebay auctions with AC brackets.  One listing title says it's for a single carb and notice that the top lip is different than the one in my picture.  There appears to be no lip on the standard bracket for steel covers. Can anyone verify?

One additional thought, could the ebay auction for the single 1x4 with the alum covers be a 66 stock universal fit bracket?

  6. Let me rephrase the post , I do not need a bracket.  I have one on my 2x4 car and a  what I believe to be a spare. I know there are differences between stock and for the alum covers.  The question to be answered is how many different brackets did Buick make for 64, Obviously the standard one and one for dual quads with the alum covers.  Did they also make a different one for stock intake with alum covers that is different than the one for the dual quads. I'm asking because when installing the one on the car, it was more of a challenge than it should have been.  This led me to think that there may be 2 different alum rocker ac brackets.

There are no identifing marks on the bracket that I have found so far.

    Hope this helps.

  7. Is there a difference between the rear ac bracket for a dual quad script rocker covers vs for a single quad.  Basically are there 2 or 3 or 4 different rear ac brackets?  Recent ebay listings have me confused and to further make it difficult, I can not find any part or stamping number on the bracket.
