  1. The lwb 37 (1508) club sedan was in Chicagoland the last time I knew for sure and it may still be there. It was restored in dark blue and looks good. I think that someone on the east coast liked it so much that they built one like it - I'm not sure if it is done or not. It is interesting that Packard would build a car like that on order.

  2. I like the 34 phaeton with the "Body by Packard". Mozart brought it to the CCCA annual meeting in San Jose and I saw it earlier at one of his buildings and both times thought it was really striking. I like unusual cars though and this one with the Vee windshield, streamlined fenders and low narrow body looks good to me. I wonder what color it was originally - obviously not the dark blue it is now, but I think the blue looks good.

  3. West, I thought they were sending it directly from Sweden. I will see what I can do. I was lucky to meet the son of the man who designed my car - the son was a designer for Scania trucks - and he had some original drawings for the 745.

  4. Oops, yes, New Zealand. There is an active Packard club there and some really nice guys. A group comes to Hershey at least every other year. They have several nice cars including Super 8s, Twin Sixes, and Twelves, not just juniors. BTW I hope you will post some more photos soon, you have some interesting photos. DM

  5. I was asked for Galle Carrossier Boulogne Sur Seine. I like this car because I found a design drawing and then years later found a photo of the actual car - as usual, the roof line is a little higher and the windshield rake isn't nearly as angled in real life.

  6. Hmmm, I thought I would get a rise out of someone with the Norrmalm 745. OK, I went looking for photos and here are a few Rollstons that I like. One is already on the thread I think, but now an old photo.

  7. Sorry to say that CCCA membership is now $60. I haven't been on the board for years, but I assume that the cost of printing and mailing the magazine and running the club has required a couple of dues increases.

  8. 1930 745 convertible victoria by Norrmalm of Stockholm, photos courtesy of my friend author and first class historian Jan Stroman from his book "Swedish Coachbuilders". It is a great book and I highly recommend it if you like coachbuilt cars, not just Packards, but Buicks, Cads, MBs, Ford, Hudson, Minerva, Rolls Royce, Chevrolet, Horch, and of course Volvo among others. The photo from above was taken when the original owner took the car to London. It seems to be attracting some attention. The car was black with a red leather top.

  9. It is in the Kimes book. At least a couple of the B & S cars for disabled survive. There is a 38 12 sedan with part of the back seat made as a wheel chair with a turntable and tracks to get it in and out of the car. I have a 38 7 pass sedan body with a removable B pillar.

  10. Bohman & Schwartz did a sedan in 1940. I will try to find a photo of it and scan it. (I lost a lot of photos in a flood last year, and I hope I have the ones of this car.) The present owner doesn't show the car much, which is a shame; it is on the 148 wheelbase and has more smooth body lines than a standard sedan. What most people remember about it is the running boards - I have never seen anything like them on any other vintage car - they slide out from under the car when you open the door.

  11. I really like this car a lot. I was lucky enough to ride with Bill in it when he drove through to get his award at Meadowbrook that year. I think that the lines and proportions on it are very nice, and work well with the 148" wheelbase. When you look at the photos on Flickr, it makes the Darrin look cramped on the swb. This is a one off built for Williams of Shaving creme fame.
