  1. To All , My position on the parking issue is of no concern . My job as a Board Member is to represent the Club as a whole . What the majority of the Members want is what I will back . This is just one of the reasons why the survey was done . One Member -One Vote - Everyone pays their Dues . I hope that ALL Members will respect what the majority wishes to do . It would be very easy for me to be a YES/NO man to make some folks happy but that is just NOT my style . Honesty is a true virtue ! See you in Portland !

  2. I'm scheduled to judge a class at the LJMC, but most likely one on the street, outside the fence. But it would be great to see your current '65 there. BTW, do you know anyone locally who you'd recommend to rebuild an alternator (for my '63)?

I would just get a rebuilt at NAPA or ? If you do be sure it has the right pulley on it - you may need to use yours .

  3. The letters on the block - passenger side on the flat surface in front of the valley pan , shoud start with J if its a 63 engine . On the other side of the same surface will be numbers and the last few will be the last few of the VIN number if its original . Who knows how or why it was painted green back in the day .

  4. If there is anyone that would like to have their Riv in the lime-lite - there is a gig in Las Vegas .

If you live in the Vagas area -"Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” is looking for a first generation

Riv in the show ." Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” staring Jerry Seinfeld wants to feature the Riv. Pay is not great but may be worth your time and it would be great to see your car on the show . email me questions if you are interested . rivsrus1@cox.net

  5. Heat is the early Rivs worst enemy . First think you need to know is if you really have a problem . Install a mechanical gage somewhere . I put mine in the clock . You can leave the original sending unit (light) and install the mechanical sending unit in the rear of the drivers side head - same location , plug , as the original but on the opposite side and in the rear . It may indicate a little higher temp there but safe . It is common for the original light to come on early so you really need to know what the temp is . The fan shroud is a good idea also - for cooling and safety .
