You should remove the motor and see if it is smoked . If it didnt work before I would guess it is bad . If you get in trouble , send it to me . I have been rebuilding them for years . I would need the whole thing - upper and lower . Do you know you have power going to the motor . PM me if you have any questions or email .

Simple installation

The main objective when attending a National Meet is the HAVE FUN ! I welcome you to attend a National and sign up to be a Judge . This is the best way to learn what its all about . I am a Master Judge but its taken me many years to attain that status - that said - at the Nationals we have many new judges sign up , Men and Women , they attend a two hour class at the meet and they are ready . There are 4 Judges and a Team Captain ( usually the Team Captain has a lot of experience like myself ) and the teams are assigned a class to judge . All the judges help each other out - its a learning experience for sure and ITS FUN . Hope to see you in South Bend in July !

I fixed one yesterday the easy way - put a plug in the rubber return line where the hose goes into the metal line where the fender meets the door - put the hose back on the metal line - looks stock and no Riv Rattle .

Dont know the company but perhaps if you are looking for caps someone on the forum can help ?

BOTTOM LINE - Do your car the way you want and not what others want ! We , the BCA , has a spot for all Buicks ! Modifieds are more then welcome . There will always be those that frown , thats there problem - not yours . The main thing is HAVE FUN ! Enjoy the Ride !

I would buy the seat material from Clarks and have it installed . Cloth or vinyl is offered I think . At some point you may want to sell the car and it will be worth more that way . Correct color and material is best unless you are doing a custom - if so , anything goes .

I would guess that most of the vendors in the Review classifieds have them . Check out the ads.

The infamous Riviera Rattle - 1st. Generation - This problem keeps coming up and while most agree that its the fuel lines causing the rattle , I would like to have some folks comment on where they found the problem and the fix . I have never had the problem but many have . Seems that its only A/C cars . This has been covered in the Review in the past but not detailed facts as to what the owners found and the fix . Hope you can help guide those that have the problem .
Any comments from Tom M , Jim C or Ed R ??????

Keep in mind that a 64 motor will not bolt up to a 63 transmission or vice versa without modifications .

In 1963, only 561 Rivieras were shipped from Buick with no radio.
In 1964 the number was 513.
In 1965, it was 603.
The cheapest radio (AM with manual antenna) cost about $90, so I guess if cost was a consideration you would drop it. If cost was the driver, I'd say a car with A/C (a $430 option) but with no radio would be quite rare.
I was commissioned to sell the car that had the delete plate - I told the owner that I would install a factory am/fm to help sell the car but I had to retain the plate sold or not . I did sell the car and have the plate . Its the only one I have ever seen .

Its really time to ditch this antique motor assembly.... ALL of us should figure the linear actuator angle out as a retrofit for the 65's that need a new motor or dont even have one....I want to find a 3D scanner and at least get the exact dimensions of the pivot point heights and locations related to the mounting locations of the original motor on the front core support . With that, fabbing up a rotating arm like whats on the original motor and having an actuator make it move cant be that hard...We have all seen the youtube video of the white 65 with the actuator...I have tried and tried and tried to get the gentlman to contact me about his setup but to no avail....too bad!!! I have read so many posts here from some seriously intellegent ,engineering kinda minded folks ... who wants to work on this ?????????
Perhaps the guy with the actuator program is getting a patten / getting ready for production ? Takes a little time .

Hello from Texas, I've got a question about your old springs. Were they good? I'm trying to locate a good set of rear springs for my '65. What can you tell me?
If you are going to replace your springs you might be better off getting new ones . Its a lot of work to replace them and the used springs are OLD . Coil Spring Specialties has a good reputation and you can get std. springs or GS springs for your car . Good Luck !
