  1. “My old man’s a TV repairman. He’s got the ultimate set of tools. I can fix it!” - J Spicoli
  2. Craigslist uses an Email relay - if you reply to the ad it goes to a CL mailbox and gets forwarded to the advertiser. That way you (and the seller) are not giving up your actual email address. Scammers will immediately try to get your real email address. I like how some sellers will use CL email relay but require you to send your phone number before they will respond.
  3. Neat car. It looks pretty solid but needs everything. I am curious about the top. Is this the way they came? Is that a fixed top or does it fold somehow?
  4. Seems like a great, inexpensive way to get into the hobby in general, or Corvairs specifically. I love white with red!
  5. Very cool car in a gorgeous color. I love it. A weekend of detailing that engine compartment would make it even better. I don’t like when sellers include threats in the ad though. Air conditioning is a bonus. I like the dual master cylinder conversion as a safety feature even if that and the aftermarket brake booster detract from the seeming originality of this beauty.
  6. Very cool. Great find. I avoid RHD cars but I think I could make an exception for this one. I wonder what those banana plug jacks on the dash are for.
  7. I really like this one. It has a lot of needs but I love the looks of these. I would negotiate that asking price quite a bit though. Thankfully I am far from MN so I am not tempted.

  9. I copied and pasted the original ad into Google’s beta test version of “Google Car Ad Translate” and here’s what it returned: “For sale: rusty POS with bad engine. I watch too much TV and have no actual experience with cars, so I am asking crazy money for a clapped out pile of scrap metal that was sunk up to the rocker panels in a rust belt field for the past 30 years. I am so confident in my abilities to sell crap that I demand a large payment up front, and because I project my own dishonesty on others I don’t trust you so you must overpay me up front before we can fully consummate this transaction. “
  10. I looked at the classic auto mall pics. Looks like a victim of the dreaded BToD. (Blue tarp of death) Current seller has it looking way better in his pics than it did at the mall. At least he is honest about it.
  11. 😀 I think he accidentally left off “desperately needed” at the end.
  12. https://newhaven.craigslist.org/cto/d/naugatuck-1967-pontiac-gto/7400413323.html “1967 Pontiac GTO, vinyl hardtop. Frame Off Restoration” Short on words, and pics are terrible, but there’s been some GTO discussion lately so I thought it might be of interest. More pics in the ad.
  13. Well, boats don’t have brakes and people cruise in them all the time. 😀
  14. I also had the same thought about the backdrop as I was scrolling down. Does the parking brake/rock come with it, or do you have to bring your own when you pick it up? It does look pretty good from what I can see. If you are looking for one I guess the setting is not really an issue. Hopefully the interior is in good condition.
  15. Not only that, but suspicious seller. One post (this one) and the email address for “Rick” is a totally different name. I would be wary. Interesting car though.
  16. Nice car. Too bad the engine compartment doesn’t look nearly as good as the rest. IMO, the wide whites are all wrong. Out of place by 1969. A 1” whitewall would look right to me. I like the interior, although I see a tear on the front seat. Probably hard to find that fabric. These coupes are interesting. Only made for a few years, and you don’t see a lot of them. But the convertibles and sedans seem to be more popular. This sounds really negative and I don’t mean to. It’s a cool car and I like it. Unlikely to see another one at your local show or event. And probably an awesome, smooth highway cruiser. - John
  17. I have no words to express just how abhorrent I find this. And I’m not against modified cars. This captures the pitfalls of customizing in so many ways. Not finished, “unique” paint scheme, and poor proportions. At least it has glass, unlike most amateur chops I see for sale. Good luck with the sale. (Read that last line with as much sarcasm as you can muster)
  18. Maybe it was intended for faster burn with the flame ignited from two sides of the combustion chamber. Thus more complete combustion (better power and efficiency), especially at higher rpms. Pure speculation on my part.
  19. New seller looking for a quick flip at $12,500 asking. Better pics and shined up so it might work? Just ignore all that water that leaked into the trunk when they washed it. More pics in the ad: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/620274165650540/?ref=search&referral_code=marketplace_search&referral_story_type=post
  20. Love it! It looks to be in very good shape. Tons of luxury and class for relatively small money. Someone should jump on this and have fun with it.
