Having had a Cordoba as a family car, be very careful, lol.
Back from my trip to Mount Rushmore. It was great but I'm exhausted. I saw 48 US license plates missing only Hawaii and Mississippi. Saw Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Ontario for Canada and even one Mexican and one European of unknown origin on the trip.
Minnesota has a lot of old pickups around...
In total, I visited 11 states, 7 of which was the first time I ever visited them, went to 5 museums, three national parks, set my person record for furthest west and furthest north I've ever been and set my record for most photos in a single day and a single week.
I will have a thread about the trip once I get all the photos processed and uploaded to my website, but it will be a bit.

South Dakota?
Wherever, enjoy the trip!
Right on! Mt. Rushmore has been something I've wanted to see forever. It was even better than I imagined, way more impressive and majestic in person. Also did the museum at the Crazy Horse monument yesterday as well.
There have been car sightings but the connectivity here isn't great...I bought a lousy laptop to take with me...so the pictures will unfortunately have to wait.

Well, I don't want to cause any swelled heads, but it was on a quarter...the state's license plates...and so much more.

I'm currently on a trip with my brother to knock out one of the things that we had on both our lists. I'm farthest west that I've ever been but will be farther later today...already found and toured a really great vehicle museum, and added I believe 15 "automotive" brands to my project of photo documenting as many brands as possible.
I will have pictures to share at some point hopefully soon but another day on the open road is ahead of us.

When I get there (not if, but when!) I am seriously considering just driving in that morning. Google says it's a 4 hour ride. I would be coming for the show, not the vendors, so only one day for me. It'll depend on if I can talk my brother into making that drive...
Edit to add: if you think that price is bad, look up what hotels do for NASCAR races. Yeah, ticket prices are cheap for the race itself, but with the hotels jacking their prices, requiring a 3-night stay, not allowing you to bring food, etc, you're looking at spending at least $1200 for a four hour race or less, and that's not even counting the fuel costs or rental cars if you need one. And they wonder why the races rarely sell out.

I saw Frazier guessed but what about Frazier-Nash?

Thank you everyone for posting. The goals we as a collective unit share is a fun topic. The one theme I see repeating is spending more time with their loved ones, that's something I think we can all agree on.
Terry, thank you especially. Powerful story(post)!

What's on your automotive bucket list?
For me I had three main things on my life bucket list and all were car related:
See Route 66 (accomplished in Joliet IL in October 2019)
Get a ride in an antique car (accomplished May 2019 in a 1913 Ford Model T)
Own and show a classic car of my own (not Classic, although I wouldn't mind that at all!) I don't know if this will ever happen due to my health problems but I will continue to dream. It is not totally out of reach but I am unable to drive due to said health problems, and I'm a bit "gun shy" after getting left walking home so often with the family Jeep.
Other minor bucket list items, that I wouldn't call major but are still things I wish to accomplish:
I want to see the major man made creations in the US: Statue of Liberty, Mt. Rushmore, Hollywood sign, Gateway arch in St. Louis.
Visit all 48 contiguous states, 13 visited so far.
Attend all the major car shows at least once, and that is both real cars and model cars. The idea for this thread came from the Pebble Beach thread.
Visit all counties in New York State.
See a 1958 Edsel Wagon in person. I'm an Edsel fanatic, and I've seen almost every model in person, but the 58 wagon...either version...has never been anywhere where I've been. My new profile picture is me with what I believe is the first Edsel I ever saw in person when I was around 10 or 11 years old.
The only one not car related: I want to create a museum and hall of Fame for trading cards.

All three of my main bucket list items were car related. I knocked two of them off the list in 2019, and this exchange has given me an idea for a new thread.

I don't think I could afford to even be a spectator at Pebble Beach, but it's definitely on the automotive bucket list.
I would like to know what goes into showing a car. I've never done it, not even at a local level show. Heck, that is on my automotive bucket list...

Perhaps it's actually a warning that the work performed was shoddy and that it won't last long before breaking down? 🤔😂

Had a great time today. Was nice to be back. Talked to Dandy Dave...I'll have pictures up tomorrow. I took over 500. That's actually kind of low for me ..

I owe my love of cars to my mom. She's the one who got me interested in cars, who took me to car shows, and supported my diecast hobby, later introducing me to plastic models.
She had a fall on the stairs last year and is still recovering, or else she'd be going with me to Rhinebeck today.

Anyone else excited about the return of the Rhinebeck show? https://rhinebeckcarshow.com
I sure am! Looks like tomorrow will be mostly dry, too.
I missed the show in 2019 due to my health problems, not realizing what was going to happen the next year. So I'm having major withdrawals, haha.
Anyone have a car in the show?

Sadly just paranoia. If it was true there would be a whole lot less murders, terrorist attacks, etc.

I've seen it but didn't get that good s picture. There's a giant condiment not too far away on 199.

My family has had nothing but problems with Mopars.
My dad was a lifelong mechanic, did it professionally for the USPS, the only cars he ever gave up on was a 78 Chrysler Cordoba and an 86 Plymouth Reliant (K-Car).
Our 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee also caused all kinds of problems. It got to the point we would only take it as far as we could walk home from, because we had to do that several times. It would just stop running whenever it felt like it.
We don't plan to get any more Mopars...have two Fords currently.

It's a 46-48 Chevrolet Aerosedan I'm working on, but it won't be factory stock...I did build this Petty 2+2 in 2021.
The show in Wayne won't be back until next year but I'm already looking forward to it!

Nice work! I have an Aerosedan in progress right now but it won't qualify for this website. I love those kits.
I just returned home from the NorEastCon model show in Latham, NY. I was head automotive judge and I love doing that.

Welcome Steve! This is a great group with lots of knowledge and is willing to share.

My 94 Grand Cherokee and 2018 Edge do as well. We had multiple wagons when I was growing up, with a 74 Torino providing the best memories.

They are just station wagons with a taller roof.

I wish I had space to sort my literatature collection. I've been collecting publications, and not just on cars, as long as I've been alive. Although about half of it is car stuff. For now it's in my storage unit which is less sorted than some of the tornado damage I've seen on tv.
You could buy it, but you don’t.

I would be so happy if I could get a 73-77 El Camino or a 4 door Edsel. Either 58 or 59, I love them both. These aren't expensive cars...
Alas, it's not in the cards. I can't see well enough to drive and my back is so badly damaged I need help to tie my own shoes. So I stay connected by collecting diecast, building plastic models, and taking as many pictures as humanly possible.
It's not the same as having a car of my own to love, but at least it's something.
