  1. Not even the weekend yet but managed a good effort this afternoon on the Buick. Pulled the front guards, steering, radiator and motor, front end removed and the rear end removed, its hard work fighting every rusted bolt just have the running boards and brake levers to remove now before I can prep the frame. I am unsure on the rear setup for this as the fuel filler will go towards the tub through the hole for the luggage rack. Not through the fuel hole on the chassis. Is this just a standard chassis design or should I cut it off?
  2. Hi rod, the rear timber is missing and not sure if what bits are there are correct or not. I will get a measurement for you this week but that peice is bolted to the two tabs from the uprights where the rear doors meet the tub.
  3. You can coat bolts black iron finish instead of natural finish. Or painting
  4. Yes I will try get the paint layers off to reveal the round marker stamp better. Looks like a horse?
  5. There is some bits and pieces but unsure if it's for this car or not I will be making new bits.
  6. I should clarify it's a rebuild not a 100point restoration. Will be a strong and safe driver as as I'm missing a heap of the interior and woodwork has been half done by someone else. I am more interested in using this car not showing. Couldnt get help this morning so entrusted my four friends ( the car hoist ) to assist me take the body off. That's all I got before I had to pack up and head out. Hopefully get some more time on it next weekend.
  7. Ok so after some identification help from you guys here on the forum I can start the restoration process. I will be doing a running driving chassis followed by the body and then interior then roof etc. as I can manage to get only a couple hours a week if I'm lucky it won't be a quick job but still hoping to have completed within a year, funds and missing parts permitting. Here are are some photos of purchased, pressure washed down , rear tub off, body unbolted and as soon as daytime hits I will be grabbing someone to help me lift the body of the chassis. keep you updated, from australia Brendan
  8. Yes Bentley or rolls early I found some photo evidence
  9. Perfect thanks rod. I believe I have a very early 1925 because it has the upholstery trim option to cover the nails. Thanks that answered my question perfectly
  10. I've got a 1924 cowl and a 1925 master 6 car. I've noticed that the cowl just above the dash is flat sheetmetal nailed to the timber that curves over top of the dash. But on many cars including a 1927 cowl I have seem to have a double rolled sheetmetal along that curve above the dash. My my question is should there be another peice here for the 24 and 25 cars as surely they wouldn't leave the nails and half the timber exposed
  11. Found this cool looking light amongst my Buick parts. However I don't believe it's Buick. Seems to have a red light and two clear lights and an earth bolt on one side. See what you think!
  12. 1931 Buick tool roll courtesy of Dave.
  13. I would be interested and could assist as I live only 40mins from there
  14. Yes I know the tag is on a spare block and it has the casting bracket behind the water pump. The rest of the spare blocks have the casting bracket at the front end of the water pump and are 11 starting tags. I ran the tags on all the spare blocks but this one 1257473 is the only one with the water pump bracket casting in different location
  15. Yes the radiator in my 25 has a 24 build date and the engine tag I found is 1257473.
  16. So do the sept builds refer to the next year. As I've got a lot of engines but all the tags refer to 1924 but all the top parts of the motors are round intakes. Not square like the 1924 should have.
  17. Is this a certain model or is it just the year
  18. I have found a chassis tag in a box of parts when going through his shed. Tag number 1300968. Would this be correct? For a 1925-6-55x
  19. Oh ok, so no difference between years. That's great ! Do you have the other page that says what the parts are
  20. I have a couple early jaguars and the Toolkits are hot items. Do the Buick years have tools if so what are they and or photos of them. To be used as a guide for all new Buick owners. Please post year and tools below, perhaps models to if Toolkits are different. i need info on identifying a 25 master toolkit. But any years would help other users for information. thanks in advance.
  21. 26-25buick, thanks for for the information, I am missing a lot of parts body and interior parts. With the help of everyone so far I am starting to get an idea of how it used to look and what parts I need to source. thanks Brendan
  22. I'm sure you could get it down in price everyone's negotiable when selling. I would love to go and take parts from it haha
  23. Ah yes rookie error under the timber is steel pressed dash.
  24. I am now getting more in depth with my build since determining the year and model. Now I'm interested in working out where it came from. I have read that McLaughlin Buick the had a timber dash. Holden and imports had steel dash. Mine has a wood dash that would have been covered with leather. What is the woodwork dash ment to look like? I assume a covered timber dash is not what everyone talks about
  25. Do you think there is an asbestos risk with the 1920's brake liners?
