  2. https://phys.org/news/2017-09-high-tech-world-car-clay.html So is a 1954 photo which means that the 54 probably was designed much earlier. Were they taking cues for the clay model they were doing?
  3. Wonder what the 54 is doing on the background of the design studio? Got to find out the year of this photo
  4. Have not idea, got it from FB
  5. Ok so I got the wrong caps, I will used those until I can purchase a correct set. I believe I seen reproductions on the Cars site. At this point they will be in the bottom of the wish list.
  6. So it looks like that the block letters are the same but the BUICK script is recessed and painted black as opposed to a protruding manner And not painted like the ones I have? Chucks, I bought these on 👿 evilBay and they disclosed them that they came out of a 50. I guess I still be cheating myself
  7. these are the full covers that I will be selling with minor scratches on the letter “I” due to people storing lugs by the side of the road when they had a flat. A flat tire must of have been a re-occurring event back in the days I presume, all 4 covers shows show the minor scratches.
  8. 🐕 dish hubcaps are ready to go, they’re are not perfect by any means thus showing minor dings but will do for now. I cheat myself by thinking that in these condition it adds character to the age of the car. When I got “Toby” it came with the aluminum wheels that I been using to roll the car. I got the original wheels from the donor car that I picked up in Maryland but been a Model 52 it had full wheel covers which I will sell. Now I will have to buy the trim rings.
  9. Almost bought last model year. GM still had few left over. Bought a used Chevy 2500 Diesel 4X4 pickup Instead. Needed to pull the 24’ car trailer to shows
  10. Beautiful, on any Riv men wish list, enjoy!
  11. Final product, it is the same molding with the drilled holes, I took a picture of the reverse side to show the spot welds. The holes on the lip are the mounting holes.
  12. This is the drivers door belt molding that the previous owner drilled three holes to install a mirror. Found a welding shop that filled/welded the holes with a stainless welding rod. I spent about 3 hours filing away the excess material which is pretty hard. Molding is now ready to be polish which I will do tomorrow and then will post a picture of The final product. While doing this, I was Just thinking on how Non- car people do not realize the time and effort spent on renovating these old cars. Happy with the results so far and yes, love this hobby.
