  1. just went on their website to check them out

on the contact page it states "you will never be asked to make a bank transfer as payment"

so with them stating it,     Big Red Flag

sorry but haven't dealt with any wire harness company's

but i do have a question

my 57 is original low mileage the negative cable is cloth covered

the positive (battery to junction) was changed before i got it, to your knowledge is that wire also covered in cloth

or is it just the rubber insulation.

would be interested to know and when you find a source please let us know

    thanks Marty

  2. Sounds good to me   here goes

    my wax of choice

    Collinite Insulator Wax

hands down probably the best wax i have ever used with great staying power

    no abrasive just a wax

ask around at car shows you might be surprised how many people use it

    First is Buick USA

    Second is Buick Mexico

Third and fourth is Buick Canada

All that snow up north sure gives you Canadians a great perspective on things. And I just wanted to make sure you know how to use the tailgate. lol

  4. Do i think this is the place for political club issues basically in public?    NO

Do i think it should be in a private type forum?    YES

Do i think it will work?     PROBABLY NOT

i believe that sometimes the people that are posting some of this (NOT ALL) want a public forum

if they wanted to try to solve problems they could call the higher ups or maybe they don't want a one on one

get involved with a chapter and see how that works (THEY MIGHT BE) work with the system talk to your chapter board

I like having my "handle"  on my comments but if you log in you can see my info I don't hide just want the people

who are really part of this to see my info NOT TROLLS

Many good comments above, now you have mine

sorry about a bit of the New York attitude

    Lamar hope this helps

And there is the rub. I'm not sure the Reatta is a collector car. Cargirl sold a pristine low mileage convertible. A Cuda, Road Runner, Mustang, Chevelle, Camaro, Corvette, etc are collector cars. A Reatta not so much.

But maybe that will change over yet more time. In the meantime you store yours and I'll drive mine...

i love my 91 vert got a good deal on it had to do work but that's ok and knew that going in, i try to drive it as much as possible so agree DRIVE THEM TO ENJOY THEM

but saying that real low mileage original perfect ones should be preserved.

as far as will a Reatta ever be a collector car, back in the mid 70's to early 80's 1 walked away from 3 different GSX's between $3000 to $6500 dollars because they all had something wrong with them all running good looking cars, but before the market went wild. i think one just went through Barrett Jackson for $183,000.

Give them time Reatta's will find their mark in the mean time we can have all the fun with them we want with plenty out there and in junk yards for spare parts.

  6. did you change the radiator cap to a cap for the coolant recovery system the original cap will NOT perform correctly with a tank

Nice job by the way very neat looking and just because i cant see it the tank does have a overflow pour out hose from somewhere on the top

( i see something on the right but it is lost in all the black lol)

they said the retainer springs that hold the shoes to the backing plate were to long and said that that was what was rubbing , installed  shorter one and they said that  fixed it.

this is worrisome to me you cant just replace the springs with something shorter, the springs have to have the correct tension or it could produce the problem you have.

i would try to source the holddown springs from a reputable Buick source and make sure the pins on those springs are the correct length, if they were to long it could produce the same problem. Good Luck

  8. please correct me if i am wrong but

don't the insurance company's and value guides use the results of the auctions

to generate the values they use.

i don't think that they are taking into consideration how good the repaint was or what might have been done

if so, more low dollar cars going through auction is hurting the market value

and in turn how much we might invest in these cars

    opinions please

  9. many owners are putting Dual reservoir masters on their car for the safety if something goes wrong

with disc brakes you will have to use a proportioning valve

i would contact Wilwood to see what they recommend as far as fluid volume and with discs power should definitely be considered

    my opinion hope it helps
