  1. Damn how do you guys survive in Texas, that thing looks like it could carry away small children.

i get excited when the mosquitoes are to big.

But i guess like the state everything is bigger in Texas. lol

  2. lets face it we have been dealing with the homogenized GM branding since the debacle of the different division engines in 1977 which led to the Corporate GM engines.

what we grew up with the design that was very different in divisions with division interiors, engines and sometimes transmissions, was how cars were sold, brand dedication.

unfortunately this is not how the world runs for the most part these days, yes there is still some brand dedication like Subaru, Toyota, but GM lost its way over the years.

i don't know if it was the removal of the high up car guys being replaced with cereal and food execs, or is it succumbing to the stock holders.

The Saturn idea was a great plan my mother had 2 of those cars and they were great little cars, easy buying experience but GM screwed that up.

it just seems that if it doesn't say Corvette they dont want to stick their neck out.

GM used to be a design leader, now it seems they try to make their cars look similar to steal sales.

how many times have you thought that the front end was the new Lacrosse or Benz Or Volvo.

The Platform issue is as old as the brands in the past they just did a better job of dressing them as their own.

as far as the new cars being soso, we had a 2004 Lesabre which we loved and drove it to death so we replaced it with a 14 Lacrosse and man am i impressed.

what a nice comfortable well thought out car, and the 304hp from the 3.6 v6 is powerful and fun.

from what i read above i cant wait to purchase a last gen Lacrosse (we buy low mileage certified used)

2 local dealers have told us that GM doesn't have any sales incentives on the Regal's which is why there are none to sell because no dealer wants to order what he cant sell.

in my opinion GM wants the sedans to die, less models, they make a bundle on trucks and suv's, and they can cut back on factories.

what was once the greatest auto manufacturer in the world is just a shell of its former self, it may be making money but as someone said as they drop the Japanese are happy to replace.

i hope we don't loose the BUICK nameplate, i dont want to be an orphan. but we are just a small bunch of dedicated souls.

    once again just my opinion

  3. rock auto lists the 14 terminal flat plug with pigtails called the ignition control module plug

we had an 04 Lesabre that had a problem with that harness kept stalling intermittently until it was towed to the dealer to be replaced

have you checked the dealer could it be possibly still available

any 91 3800 is probably the same, lesabre, park, regal

    good luck

  4. Took the 91 vert to the John Thiessen Chilcdren Foundation Charity car show today, for the short time I was there had a great time. This is their 2nd year doing it and it is growing, mostly later model but all are welcome. Great charity check out his story on his website, he is doing some great work.

Parked next to a really nice repainted 72 GS 350, owner is keeping the car as original as possible

Took pics of most of the Buicks and some interesting other brands

    Wildcat anyone

    Serious turbo cars

The white Chevy is a 409 4spd car

    A 79 Hurst Olds and 442 friends

The red Impala convert with hidden headlights has a 427 big block

The 69 Skylark was in the February Bugle pictured the owner and his son with his Lambo

    Monte Aero coupe and Camino

The 59 Chevy was quite a looker

  5. I have to agree with JohnD1956, i would rather be in the winter. must be a NY thing

you can always bundle up but the heat yuk

and i feel the cars are always working near the limit in the high heat and if you have a problem you are in trouble

    gimmie some cool weather lol

  6. because of the mix of powertrain brand as you have mentioned you might have a better time pushing this car on chevy forums and sites

not trying to sound cynical but over the years chevy owners are more apt to put chevy power in brand X

where buick people are much more apt to stay in their brand

dont get me wrong it looks like you have a beautiful car but it would probably sell quicker with a big block buick,

and i have seen some beautiful other brands with chevy drivetrains

    my opinion

  7. The tube looks like on later A/C cars there was a duct on the back of the generator and the tube ducted outside air from the rad support to it for cooling

you can just make out the bracket on the rad support

i am not a 58 guy but i know i have seen it on 61 buicks

    might be a retrofit

i don't think the tube material might be the original material though

maybe the owner did it himself because it is not on the pic of the other 58

  8. Kevin M down on the Island I think that the Allante's are a little more plentiful but not by much. Overall not many of each. Pic is about a year ago we were not parked next to each other but decided to do a photo shoot, Allante is nice but Reatta is sportier. But I am biased lol!!

  9. Kevin M as far as neon sign you are referring to if it is the R sunburst logo big sign that sign is florescent bulb and a bit fragile but very nice indeed

the ones i like are the thick black frames to the left up high they back light the pics one was for sale at the national with a $600 price tag on it

that collection is very impressive indeed now i jut need alot of money and a bigger garage lol

  10. working in a Nissan & Subaru dealer currently and through my 30 plus years in the dealership parts dept business

and prior dealings with GM, Hyundai, Toyota, and Jaguar

the trend to full modules instead of individual parts is everywhere i have to agree with many strong points that NTX5467 makes

another part of the equation is the ease of installation at the assembly plants.

and remember especially on sensors the dealer is going to have the most up to date revision not the parts store!

i know that much of what is being said about dealerships is true but please be aware that the overhead is quite a bit more than the local auto parts store

and i buy there also, but for a good part of my life the dealers have been a good place to work and they are an integral part of the economy.

    my opinion

  11. very cool having two consecutive numbered cars, and in such great condition, and real interesting that they both traveled across the country to get to your garage!

(in good humor) i am trying to figure how do you choose which car to take somewhere the nice one the nicer one or the nicest one.

having a 91 red/tan vert myself 900336 i totally get the look, the combo just works so well

i was wondering how you know so much of the history, was it just documentation that traveled with the cars?

i am asking because my window sticker shows my car was delivered to BMD show cars not a dealer and have been trying to find more info about where Buick may have displayed the car, and was wondering if you had a particular source

    best of luck

  12. Ronnie i think you are correct, many times the style of the taillight changes with model change

if you look on the late 80s front drive Lesabre/Park Ave taillight i believe you will see the same thing

because those lights were used for quite a few model years
