  1. You are welcome. They aren't that bad. Just take getting used to. Once you get the hang of it, it is a piece of cake. These are the Cadillac of wheel covers compared to the cheap flimsy crap on other makes and models. Just the weight of them is impressive. Bill
  2. I am sure others have their methods. This is mine. Attached are pictures of my weapon of choice. I first put a piece of cardboard underneath the tire. As gungeey pointed out they can fly off and hit the cement floor. They are heavy too, which makes a sudden grab more difficult if they come off. Slow and easy is the trick. The wheel covers can be easily damaged if you pry too hard or use something with sharp edges, such as a tire iron. I wrap the end of my pry tool with duct tape to keep this from happening. I also insert a 3" X 3" piece of 1/4" thick paneling between the rubber head of the tool and the tire. You do exert a lot of pressure and this keeps the rubber head from sinking into the tire making it harder to pry. As gungeey said go around around a little at a time. You can tell when it starts to come loose. Once you get it free in one spot, removal is pretty easy. Once you do it a few times you will get the hang of it. When you put them back on use the heel of your hand. They will seat just fine. Again once you do it a few times you will get the hang of getting them on. Do not pound them back on, even with a rubber mallet. They can be damaged. Hope this helps. Bill

  4. According to the stats provided by Team Buick, the back spacing is 4 3/8". I can double check if you would like. Thanks. Bill
  5. From what I have been told it fits 61-63 Buick with a Nailhead and Dynaflow.
  6. I have for sale a Delco Remy 1107221 starter date code 3 E 14. Should fit 61-63 Buick from what I have been told. The starter has bench tested good. PM me if interested. Thanks. Bill

  8. Here are pictures of the wheel cleaned up. It seems to be in pretty good condition. I know it will not work on our Rivieras but, someone here may know someone or someone may have another Buick this could work on. Make me an offer plus shipping. PM me if interested. Here are the specifics as per Team Buick. Thanks. Bill The wheel is 15" X 7" with a 5 X 4 3/4" bolt pattern. Design-8th Part Numbers-1236968 25504168 Years-1971-87 Rim Codes-903, 975 Appl. 9. For sale is a Buick Rally/Road Wheel that was used on the 1971-1987 Buicks. The wheel is 15" X 7" with a 5 X 4 3/4" bolt pattern. The wheel seems to be in very nice condition. The chrome on the face has a pretty good shine and seems to be intact with a couple of spots of discoloration which are not noticeable unless under very close scrutiny. The black satin area could use a touch up. Overall a pretty nice wheel that can be used as it sits. Here are the stats on this wheel as per Team Buick. 10. Thanks for the info guys. I never thought to check bolt pattern. This explains why it was loose in the car and not mounted on the car with the other 3. Someone along the way bought the wrong wheel. Bill
  11. I have a set of 4 Rally wheels which came with one of the 63 Rivieras I bought. Three of them are on one of the car and one was loose inside the car. The loose one that I brought home seems to be in pretty decent shape. I have not done an extensive search on the wheels for markings but, I did find some. Attached are pictures of the wheel and the stamped markings that I have found. If someone could help with deciphering those markings it would be greatly appreciated. The register hole is 2 1/8". Might there be other markings that I could look for? Is it possible to tell from the markings I have pictured what these wheels were originally from and what they would fit? Thanks. Cleaned up with better pictures below. Bill
  12. In that forward left area of the trunk should be some electrical connectors for the various things in the rear. The trunk light connects into the circuit with the sail panel lights in that area. They both use an orange wire. I don't remember if the trunk light wire is hardwired in or if it has a plug at the end to go into a connector. As Ed said the trunk light is activated by a mercury switch in the lamp housing. Bill

  14. Chuck, I am with you on that one. One of my goals in life is to never drive through Chicago again for the rest of my life. I hope to see you and your car in Kalamazoo. Bill
  15. No, this is the high speed ferry, the Lake Express that goes from Milwaukee to Muskegon. Leaving at 12:30 P.M on the 21st and coming back at 10:15 A.M. on the 25th. Should be plenty of light on both trips. Bill
  16. My brother-in-law and I will be making the trip to Kalamazoo this year. We have decided to take the Lake Express Ferry across Lake Michigan. We will be hooking up with another ROA member from Minnesota and his wife for the drive and ferry ride across the lake. The ferry ride is not cheap but, it does make for a scenic and relaxing interlude on the trip and cuts a lot of travel time off of the drive if you are coming from an area west of Michigan. Another huge bonus is no drive through Chicago. If anyone else is interested in joining up with us for the journey PM me and I can give you the particulars. If not, we will see you in Kalamazoo! Bill

  19. My 1963 is ready to turn 86,000 miles on the odometer. This last year I would occasionally get the oil light coming on when idling in gear. It doesn't happen all the time and it would happen after a long stretch of driving when everything was good and hot. I talked this over with Tom T. and he told me that this was a sign that my engine is starting to show a little wear. He suggested to me to switch to a 20W-50 oil. I did this and I have not experienced this problem since. A couple of years ago I had switched to Lucas Classic and Hot Rod Oil. I was using their 10W-30 and then switched to their 20W-50. Both weights have a zinc content of 2100 ppm. I am very happy with their oil. I also like the fact that I can get this oil at several of the chain auto parts stores and on Amazon. Bill
  20. I bought and received it several months ago. Got it in 2-3 days back then. I was just reporting that had I bought my last one on Amazon to give others interested another possible option for purchase, not that I had just ordered it. At the time I was writing the post I went on Amazon to double check what brand (Wix) and number (42092) that I had purchased and I also checked to see if they were still available/selling them at this time. Which they were. Bill

  22. Tan outer trim piece and rear 1963 outer trim bracket still available.
  23. Yes and that has no bearing on the fact that I bought my last one there. Nor does it change the fact that they are still available. Your point is? Bill
