Good thread, I recently was in a similar situation with a CA car. Seller was determined that the title would be clear but wanted money down ASAP. Was pulled from an impound yard with a missing fuel tank because it was intended for the scrap yard. After a little reading of the CA DMV site, it looks like the expenses of renewing the registration, existing fees, and all title transfer can weigh a serious cost. Even if the vehicle itself is inexpensive, the pains of getting a title and transport were equal if not more than the car itself.</SPAN>

Sure thing, it's a road that follows down and skips across the Mississippi river starting around Hastings, MN I believe and I've been wanting to ride from there south for a day or something to go thru all the bluffs. I knew what the answer was before asking about the 2000 mile road trip, but it is impressive that it is roadworthy. The tires the same as when it was sitting for all those years or did you replace them along with your list of new/updated parts?

I feel I can relate to this as I turned 30 last year and have many favorite classics and that ranges from the 50s to 1970. To me everything after that is not very desirable to "collect". Most all of my friends are not on the same page of loving the 50s as they'd rather have Chevelles or Cameros, personal taste and probably fueled by speed. As for me, the 50s seem to define an era of design and manufacturing that will never be seen again and the 1959 Cadillac being the pinnacle example. I respect this and the ’55 Buick stands out to me like a busty blond eyeing me up at the end of the bar. The attraction is natural and hard to resist. Now the only thing between me and my ideal nailhead is a few grand and about 1000+ miles. My time will come, and I will be one of the few to keep this torch going.</SPAN>

Hello, I'm Adam and have been obsessed with finding a 1955 4 door hardtop Buick for the last two years. I live in the rust belt capital it seems, so my search has been across the US and leaving me to find a car that seems to be close to the cost of getting it home. I like to ride sport bike (currentlly a Honda '98 VFR800), offroad trail riding with the 400EX when I can and the rest of my time is spent at work or with my young family. It's a tease to want one of these land yachts, as I'm sure getting one road ready can be almost as costlly as aquiring it. I hope to learn from you folks and maybe get to pull the trigger sooner than later and get my girls in a car to remember like my dad did with his 1962 Sedan Deville.
