  1. 6 volt Autolite key coil and key for a 1934 Hudson Terraplane. Good Basco key turns very smoothly. Unit isn't tested but all indications tell me it's in good working order. Only surface rust and cleans up easy. Some pitting on the bracket but other wise in good shape, no cancer thru. Was told the #IG 4311 was the code for a 1934 Hudson Terraplane but I have not confirmed so please do your own research to verify this part is correct for your application. Would really like to see this entire unit go to someone who is restoring the specific car that it was meant for. I do not want to seperate any of it's components.   2. Looking for parts for the 1928-32 Dodge Brothers Trucks. Most of these parts were interchangable with my 1930 Dodge Brothers 3/4 ton Panel truck UPDATE 04/21/2016: STILL NEED THE FOLLOWING 1.) Drivers side mounted mirror and bracket. Mounts on face of pillar.. 2.) Instrument panel gauges - Need Choke and Spark Advance Control Knobs 3.) DB hub caps with 8 rows of threads and the flat edge on the inside. I need 2 LOCATED - Do not need hubcaps any longer Thank You 4.) Purolator SA2 Oil Filter/Canister 8"x 4 1/2" 5.) Brake Canister Reservoir PM me if you have any of these parts Thanks for any help
  3. According to this the B may have signified the Model engine code for the truck that the rusted toe plate came from in my last post.
  4. Heres the only toe plate I had that came with all the mystery parts included in my purchase when I got my truck. Can't quite make out the frame number in the middle photo on the left but as you can see on the right it says "B" then under that is "120 IN". I believe the frame number reads "E145751" but I'm not positive as it's very difficult to read. Any idea what the B stood for or what the meaning was ? The only other 120"WB 3/4 ton I could find was the DET model E series with the Victory 6 probably produced in 1928 or 29 according to the MPB index.
  5. Yes thats true and I believe the lower left one that isn't legable is suppose to be the "delivered" date but it was not stamped like the other sets of numbers, see photo for explanation. This was from a larger truck that I found and saved so I know how to reduplicate mine when I'm ready.
  6. Thanks George, I look forward to seeing what you had made. Thats great news ! Here's the pics from the interior of the cylinder. Boy this was harder to see with a magnifying glass than with the macro setting on my camera, shows up much better using the camera after I upload it. Only numbers I could find inside (if it matters at this point) are 22000 and the N/E logo upside down with an underlined "A" and the number 4 next to it. These numbers were on the back side of the face plate as you turn the cylinder upside down at the very bottom of the cylinder. Very difficult to see... I found no other numbers.
  7. By the way, I have no I.D. Plate of any kind for my DA-124. I do have an extra toe plate that was in 10x worse condition than yours. As I cleaned it and scrubbed it in an attempt to read the numbers it literally fell apart almost like dust in places and began to crack, but before it started giving way I could make out that it was to a DA-120 B which has puzzled me since. At that point I stopped in order to save the numbers I was told to put it in a ziplock bag in pieces because although the frame number is barely legible it may be of use to a DA-120 guy somewhere down the road and may even lend clues to someone like yourself. My dash plate I.D. was just a blank. It was rivoted like from the factory would have been but when I cleaned past the surface rust there was only shiney metal, no numbers anywhere which as you can imagine was very disheartning. If they were stamped like the toeplates I would have been able to see them easily but it's just completely flat. Since my truck came in pieces when I bought it, this has been a journey of puzzles. I had 2 toe boards that came with the parts and since I'm new at this I had no idea what I was even looking at truthfully. Didn't take me long to figure it out but that tells you how maticulous and tedeous of a process it's been in the last few months. I've literally spent months under the magnifying glass trying to read some of this and some of it cannot be hurried or you loose it completely if you scrub to hard , to abrasive or the wrong solution for cleaners. Kinda like archealogical work in a sense... fun stuff for someone who loves to learn and research.
  8. Jason I think it should be noted that post #20 in regards to the North East Coil ad, I believe you thought there were 2 coils that were the same. As it's saying that the Packards are (not illustrated). I believe what it's saying in regards to part #5023640 is that is a 12 volt coil (with locks) meant for the following trucks: 1930 Coleman 1931 Cunningham 1930-31 Pickwick Stages 1929-31 Sterling Engines There does seem to be a slight variation in the shape from the 6 volt coil that would have went to the 1930 Dodge Trucks. Top and bottom of the face plate seem slightly higher and more pointed and a thicker wall and there seems to be a notch on the left of the 12v coils chrome faceplate area and not the 6 volts so I do believe they are not the same but I think it was just a continuation until you see the breif space between the parts for those trucks and the parts numbers listed above Packard parts numbers. It was probably just throwing you because the 5023601 12 volt (not illustrate) ends at the bottom of the page.
  9. Thanks platt I appreciate your input and suggestion. I understand there's other ways to go about this that are less of a headache but I guess I like the pain.... Just seems there has to be a way to crack the code in regards to this topic. But it will probably have to wait till early next week now before we hear anything.

Nothing like documented evidence I know you appreciate it and again, I don't mind doing it but eventually I would like to get some answers for the truck on topic at the beginning of this thread because the 2252 motor is intriguing. But I'm in no rush, this is fun stuff looking into the 120 E series .:cool:...

  12. I figure this will be some good meat for you to chew on for awhile. We'll fill in the blanks as we go. I don't mind scanning and I hope it's ok with everyone that I'm doing this. I just figure these books are so rare and the need is so great we should all be pulling our resources together in order to answer our questions collectively by passing this information onto each other at no charge.

Let me know what you have for extra parts that your not going to use, I may have something you need and vise versa. I have some extra parts that were not original for the DA 124 but were for your 120

  15. Lets do this. I'll send this labelled the way I'm used to labelling things but I would recommend since your the owner of this particular vehicle you rename them and save them by Page # that way you can refer to it easily in the future. For example, make note of each scan by page number and just file it 120 E Series Page 1, 120 E Series page 2 and so on and do that as I send them. At least that's my recommendation but you do it how you would like. But at least try and keep them in some kind of succession as the pages will be scanned from time to time out of order. Make sense ?

  17. A couple more pics that may help solve the mystery of the key code for the 1930 Dodge Brothers key. In these photos below it shows the JL numbering system I was hoping someone could help us understand what it means, and the other pic is showing my coil on the bottom left Coil #5023131 from a North East ad. Notice the hex shape key Keep in mind when viewing the first photo my truck is labelled a "DA" so it would be #76575 falling under the JL750-JL999 Again, any help is appreciated from anyone. Do you by chance show anything in any literature you may have for the 1930 Dodge Brothers trucks North East 6 volt key coils ? # IM 056 Trying to get a key made for my personal use on the 30 Panel but haven't found anyone who knows how to go about it yet. We don't know if the IM 056 is the key code for sure but I was hoping you may know. Edit: we believe the key was a briggs and stratton hex shaped possibly with the letters DB stamped on the key along with some numbers but that is unclear also. Thanks for any help.
  19. If I understand this correctly your trying to determine when the heavier 3 speed first came into the picture and on what models. Is that a fair assessment ? According to the MPB the first sign of the 4 speed was as you know in the following series on page T-21-C. Finding out which one of those models was the first one to use the 4 speed should lead you in the right direction. And in regards to the 4 speeds I would think we can discount the DA's and the U along with the F series as being the first ones to use it. I believe you can look to the ED, LD, JD, YD, MD, OD TD, BE, IE, LE, ME, JE, and YE all under part 511003 for the transmission case part number. So that tells me we should then turn our attention to the prior models mentioned. The BD, DDT, and ID all of them are as you said 3/4 tons. I would think we can discount all the other ones and look to those 3 models for concentration and if it proves us wrong then we go from there. Just my way of thinking, but I don't know exactly what your trying to ultimately achieve which may change the approach you decide to take.
  20. More photos: Surface rust some pitting but minor, no cancer thru. The only kind of code I could find was "IG-4311". I'm assuming that's a key code but again, I have no idea. BASCO key with the word spencer and the # 1 on the reverse side. I only hit this with a fine brass scrub brush by hand for a few minutes to get these results. PM me or respond to this thread. First come first serve basis according to time.
  21. Not sure where I should put this but since I don't know what it is yet, this is as good a place as any. It's an autolite. In the 3rd photo it's the one on the right. If you need better pics let me know. I was told it was from an Oakland or Overland. I have NO idea but if someone can use it I'd like to see it in the right hands for an original restoration. Key turns and I've checked the components inside and everything seems to be where it's suppose to be. I have not tested it as of yet but I'm sure it works from everything I've found and researched in regards to 6 volt key coils. For sale, make reasonable offers and it's yours. Buyer pays shipping.

  24. Yes, he's got some of the info and pics. We'll just have to wait to see what he comes back with in regards to the IM and JL. He verified that as you were posting so we're where we need to be. Exciting seeing where leads. He's not a young man at all. My guess is around 55-62 maybe. He's speaking the same language so I think we're in good hands with him. It's all email and phone work but he's more than willing. We may not hear from him till tomorrow now so I'm gonna get my butt to work on something.
  25. WWWOOOOOOW WWW You lucky dog ! Man i'd love to find something like that last book. I'm fricken drooling here... Just got an email from the key guy. He's being very helpful and I think he loves the search and challenge. Should be interesting to see where this all leads us.
