  1. Hi Everyone, Washer pump is not working on my 64 Riv. CARS lists two repair kits for this year with one showing straight tubes and one showing 90 degree tubes. Does anyone know what the correct one is or will either work. I would like to have the repair kit ready when I remove the hood etc to get at the pump. Regards, Glenn ROA #12929:D
  2. :DHi Everyone, Have new cardboard kit for my 64 Riv but the trunk has been stripped clean and I do not have the clips and or screws needed to install same. Please let me know if you have a set for sale or where I may get them. Also need the spring assembly that holds the jack in place. I have ordered the spare tire wing nut from CARS in NJ. Thanks, Glenn ROA #12929
  3. Hi Ed, Could you elaborate on the type and brand of oil that is best to use in a 64 425 nailhead? Thanks, Glenn
  4. :DHi Everyone, I was wondering how to detail my trunk? I have the new cardboard kit in the box and thats about it. I am missing the wing nut assembly for the spare (64) and also the spring that holds the jack in place. Has anyone got any advice and or pictures of how they finished off their trunk. I am not really that fond of the original type mat material but I would like to keep the trunk looking 60's carlike. Also I believe there are a certain clip to hold the cardboard kit in place? Any idea of where to get such a thing or a diagram of how the cardboard goes in? Has anyone painted the cardboard? Regards, Glenn ROA #12929
  5. Hi Everyone, Was there any kind of lining used on the recesses in the inside of the 64 Riv trunk lid? If yes where can you get it or what can you use? Thanks, Glenn ROA #12929:D

  9. Hi Rob, I do not believe you would have even considered to try and start this engine. Even the way it is you can see the quality materials that went into building it originally. Best of Luck! Glenn McMahon ROA #12929 64 Riv Coral Mist
  10. Hi Brian, Just a word of caution it might not be a good idea to run the tank dry. As you can imagine there may be a lot of crud and rust etc at the bottom and you dont want that possibly damaging your carb, fuel lines etc. Good Luck, Glenn McMahon:D
  11. Hello, Any aluminum valve covers for a 425 64 Riv? Thanks, GM
  12. Old lady down the street may have one sitting in garage. Will check! Regards, Glenn:D
  13. Joey any good quality body seam sealer which comes in a caulking tube will do. 3M is good quality and any good body shop supplier should carry it. I have always heard from our more expert Riv specialists that the best way to go is to get your orig heater core recored. A reputable rad shop should be able to tell you if its rebuildable and if not they should have a source for a replacement. Best of Luck!!!! Glenn Stouffville ONT ROA 12929
  14. As part of your restoration be sure to replace the trunk weatherstripping. It looks as though water has been leaking into your trunk for some time and forming into a nice rust cocktail under your matting. Lots of parts cars in the Riview so hopefully you can get a good replacement panel for the trunk floor. Regards, Glenn Stoufville ONT ROA 12929
  15. Thanks Rex for this very useful information. I need a parcel shelf for my 64 so I also will look elsewhere. Glenn ROA #12929
  16. Hello Everyone, I need to replace the washer pump on my 64 Riv. Can anyone suggest where to get one that is correct and maybe a part #. I dont want to get everything apart only to find that the part is not the right one. I also need one winshield washer jet assembly if anyone has a spare. Regards, Glenn ROA #12929
  17. Thanks Ed, I think on my car the dash is black and the parcel shelf right now is covered in black vinyl. When it warms up here I will remove the shelf and see if it is silver or black underneath. I also imagine it will need to be replaced and I have seen suppliers on the Net. Once again thanks for your help! Glenn McMahon ROA #12929
  18. Hi Dan, As you will discover it is sometimes unbelievable what people do to cars. In most cases we collectors would be happy if they had left things alone. In time I hope everything will fall into place for you. You just persevere and eventually hope you get the car where you want it. As you have said drive it and have fun! Regards, Glenn M. ROA#12929
  19. Hi Chuck, I am in the process of detailing the trunk on my 64 also. I thought the cardboard goes in the colour it is which is a light grey. I also need the wing nut for the tire hold down and I dont know if there is any type of washer that goes with this. I also didn't realize that the jack had that spring loaded clip pc to hold it down. You will probably have to try and find one off a parts car. Lots of ads in Riview of guys parting out cars. Good luck and I will let you know when I find one. Regards, Glenn M. ROA#12929
  20. Hello, I need the windshield washer plastic tank and the chrome fluid nozzles. Also the pump or rebuild kit for the washers. Thanks, Glenn:D
  21. Hi All, A few questions. What color should the rear parcel shelf and the dash pad be if the interior color is silver? Does it show how to remove the parcel shelf in the Riv Body Manual? All answers are appreciated. Thanks, Glenn ROA #12929
  22. Hello All, Have purchased 1964 Riviera and have lots of detailing to do. I believe the correct hose clamps should be the "tower type". Does anyone have a list of what quantity and sizes are needed for a 425 -4 engine. Also any good source to buy them. Thanks, Glenn McMahon
  23. Hi All, Need complete steering wheel assembly for 64 Riv. Anyone have one or know where I can get one? Car is silver interior but I imagine I can paint one to match. Regards, Glenn
  24. :DHi Everyone, Just wondering if all parts for the jack and tire iron were painted semi gloss black? Also the post part of the jack was it painted or plated? What would the spare tire size be using todays modern numbers? Rim for spare semi gloss black also? Regards, Glenn ROA #12929
  25. Hello All, I have a 64 Riviera with a non stock steering wheel. I would like to reinstall a stock one. The interior is silver. Did the steering wheel come matched to the interior color? If I find another color can the wheel be painted to match? Regards, Glenn
