  1. Mark, The horn I am looking for is a 6 volt motor driven horn, it has 2 electric stud connectors it is A Klaxet model uh 127892 made by Lovell-McConneil MFG. horn bell is 9 inches long, motor is 3 1/2 long and motor housing is 3 inch around. I have the original 1916 Buick D-55 parts book that has a actual photo of it that is so detailed I could read the id plate. I then checked with Gregg in Michigan and he took a photo of his car's horn and that confirmed it, Thank you, Michael
  2. used on models from the mid teens up till ? It is fairly short with a round small motor housing and a red id tag, thank you, Michael

  5. Meatball1, Please call back on Wind wing. I can not find your phone number to save my life. I have a bad habit of writing down phone numbers on little pieces of paper with no name, I also have a lot of paper with names and no numbers. ..some day I will remember to combine all info on one paper! Michael

  10. Doug, Just wondering if you had a chance to check out the Oakland wind wings at your dads? Michael
  11. Larry, Thank you for the info. I would love to see a picture of the key, but I do not know how to work all the fetures of this site so I cant send you my Email without putting it up for all to see. I think I have seen your name on Tryon's Buick McLaughlin roster if so I am listed there as well as the Horseless Carriage Club, Thank you, Michael
  12. I have been reading the recent thread on transmission lock keys and thought about the Delco control panel in my 1916 Buick. Has anyone had luck finding or making a key that will work ? The little bit of research that I have done which is studying reference manuals for different years and models I think all models from 1915-16-17 look like they have the same keyhole which the hole is shaped like a skeliton key would go into it , but it does have a unusual guide pin the is centered in the slot. With this evidence we can figuire that the key is small , the shank is round, it is hollow, has a tooth that projects down. The latter Buick that still had this style of control panel had more of a conventional key slot, but I know not what year it changed, thank you, Michael
  13. JBOB, I am interested in some details on your trailer, I sent you 2 EMAILS. I only would like to know if it is still for sale or have you sold it, Thank you, Michael
  14. Just measured my Buicks windshield post . They are 18 inches tall and are 1 inch diameter at base and 9/16 inch diameter at the very top. I will look forward to seeing if they set off the Oakland will work, Dei, Thank you, Michael
  15. The car I am trying to find brackets for is a 1916 buick D-55 Big 6 touring car. The Buick does not have a perfectly round post near the bottom of the post it is almost oval. I know of a set of wings like the ones that Keiser31 has pictures of but they do not have the brackets that grab the windshield post so I have not tried to buy them, thank you, Michael
  16. Does anyone have a set of wind wings or just the brackets for a open car? I would prefer the kind that clamp on the brackets that hold the windshield frame. Maybe someone knows of a company that is reproducing them? any help would be appreciated, Michael
  17. Looking for misc. parts that are needed on my 1916 Buick D-55 touring car. This car has the big 6 engine and a long wheelbase, but I believe some of the parts I need would be the same on a smaller Buick. I need hand crank hole cover that slips in under the radiator, transmission tower cover that has the gear shift pattern stamped in it, stamped plate that is between clutch and brake pedal, key for ignition on dash board, oiler and oil can bracket that bolts on firewall, conduit junction box that gathers all wire conduits to feed thru firewall, readable gas gauge that I can make a copy of face plate and a set of wind wings for the oval shaped windshield bracket, Michael
  18. Norgermish, I live south of Salinas. I am interested in what you have there. What model is the 34 ? You can contact me direct if you like, Michael
  19. How about the Bakersfield swap meet for pre-war cars (I think pre 1930 would be more accurate) April 14-15-16, Michael
  20. Hi, I have seen a few S-10 5 speed transmissions installed in some cars like Ford model A and I was wondering if anyone has grafted A overdrive transmission like that on A mid thirties pickup. I am not interested in modifying any thing else on the truck and would like to do it so someone else some day can put it back if they like. My truck currently has a 4 speed with a granny 1 st gear that the previous owner put in during the forties, Michael
  21. forgot to mention that in 1936 GM pickups had a medium brown wrinkle finish on the interior, this includes dash and door panels. It is very hard to duplicate. Hopefully some one out there has found a product that will give the same look as original.
  22. grandpas1936, I have a 1936 gmc 1/2 ton with original paint. it is a yellow orange with black fenders and running boards. I do not know for a fact that color interchange between GMC and Chevrolet in the early days. I think your best bet is to go on ebay and type in 1936 chevrolet and look for a paint chart. If you wait for the right one it will have highly detailed mixing formula which is very helpfull. Without that you can only hope that the chip has not changed color from original , then you have your paint dealer match to that. Long gone are the days when you can go to the paint store say the year , make and name of some color like omaha orange and 10 minutes latter they hand you a gallon ( for $30.00 ) Ha!

  24. TJDV, Thank you for your reply. Before you rework your gauge you should look at a actual gauge that works. The part that looks twisted on your gauge bottom may be the way it was originally. The theory is as the float rises up as you fill tank with gas, the spiral thin vertical metal bar rotates and it is directly connected to the needle that indicates level in tank.
  25. Hi, Is one of those colors ocean torquoise for 68 toronado ? Thank you, Michael
