  1. In the August 26th,1916 issue of Automobile Topics magazine page 228,is a paragraph stating that the formal merger of Kelsey Wheel Co. is completed. The new company is the result of a merger of Kelsey Wheel Co. , and the Herbert Mfg. Co. of Detroit, the Kelsey Wheel Co. Ltd. of Canada, factory in Windsor, and the Kelsey Wheel Co. of Tennessee. Kelsey Wheel Co. merged with the Hayes Wheel Co. of Detroit in 1927 to become Kelsey Hayes Wheel Co.
  2. Hi Guys: Just an update as of Nov. 1st 2011. I bought the Kelsey body today to put on my Kelsey prototype chassis/running gear. Bought it from the poster Gene Elkins,of Tn. I found out this Kelsey body was made by the Kelsey Wheel Co. of Detroit. I just bought a factory brochure from 1917 showing this exact body in it! Kelsey made wheels and bodies and merged with Hayes Wheel Co. in 1927 to become Kelsey Hayes Wheel Co. This was an aftermarket body for Model T Fords which are 100 inch wb. Since my Kelsey chassis is made partially of Model T parts and is also 100 inch wb, it will be a great fit! My body was removed by Mr. Kelsey himself in the 1920s and discarded, and the chassis stored in the Troybilt factory in Troy N.Y. until 1970 when it was removed by automotive historian Keith Marvin. Even though its two different Kelsey Companies,it is the correct year size, style, etc body as the original.A great ending to a great story. Lets hear it for the AACA Forums! 3. Dear Friends: At Hershey I bought a matached set of 1936-47 Riley side draft carbs. Made by George Riley of Riley 2 and 4 port head fame. The carb mounting plate is 2 3/8 inch across and the inside hole is 1 1/2 inches in diameter. I want to mount these on a Model A/B engine. Thus I need to find an original or repro dual carb side draft manifold that will fit an A/B. I do not wish to sell the carbs. Leads appreciated! George Albright,Ocala,Fla. cell 352 843 1624 email: gnalbright@gmail.com PS I have photos avail. by email. The forum would not let me upload my photos, but I can email them to you.

  7. THANKS fro the tip! Yes I was looking for a body for my 1917 Kesley factory friction drive prototype. Unfortunately that body, which I have reviewed,is from another Kelsey company and is too large for my 100 inch wheelbase. I just mounted my circa 1920 Equipto Co. Aurora Equipment Co. aftermarket speedster body on it,and it looks great! George

  11. THANKS for the nice note! Its like everything else in life: The more you work at something the luckier you get! George
  12. Possibly, but someone would have to come to Ocala Fla. in late Oct or Nov to photo and measure it. Geo.
  13. PS No the body had been on a speedster decades ago and was removed and put in storage about 30 years ago. Sorry no photos or info other than that. I am going to mount it on my 1917 Kelsey friction drive factory prototype chassis. 100 inch wb hand built chassis and running gear and fenders. Body removed and scrapped in the 1920s by Carl Kelsey himself. Stored in the Rototiller factory in Troy NY till 1970. Search 1917 Kelsey under this website for photos of it. George
  14. Dear Friends I just bought this circa 1920 Ford Model T aftermarket speedster body made by The Equipto Co. of Aurora Illinois. Very little is known on them. They made factory bodies for Ford pre and post Model T. In the 1930s they got into the metal shop and office furniture business, and still are. I got the Equipto tag with the body. Info, copies of brochures, other owners of cars with this body, etc. appreciated. Thanks,George Albright,Ocala,Fla. email: gnalbright@gmail.com cell 352 843 1624 <!-- / message --><!-- attachments -->

  19. Dear Friends: A friend of mine asked me to post these photos of this circa 1930 Auburn axle, which is under a vintage 1930s sprint or midget car trailer. He'd like to know the models and years this axle was used. I believe the race car trailer this axle is under is still for sale. Contact Dan at Daniel Phenicie <dephenicie@gmail.com> Thanks! 21. Approx 350 of the approx 472 cars that were built are still in some form of existence. Of that 350 it is roughly estimated that half of those remaing still have their original bodies. George
