  1. 20 years later and a piece at a time off Ebay, Frank $$$$ Mitchell, Len Dawson ect. I finally have all NOS non Korean chrome for my 1952 New Yorker. 1950-52 chryslers are some of the toughest cars to find die cast chrome parts for. No after market chrome is available for your C51 Windsor.

It will take time to find new if thats what your looking for. Old used pitted chrome is easily available watching Ebay sellers. They usually ask too much IMO.

    Good luck!

  2. And you must use 3/8" air hose too for enough air flow to the gun.

If you lived close by I'd come over and get them off. In the last month I removed rears from a 1935 CW Imperial Airflow, a 1956 Imperial, a 60 Dodge and a 1948 Chrysler NY business coupe. The drums cannot sit/soak as we need to finish the brake jobs quickly and efficiently to get them done!

On another note...You might want to remove the axles to check for inner seal leaks too. Just a thought.

Good luck, You will get those drums them off..:)

  3. You need 175lbs of air pressure and a good 1/2" impact gun-say a quality Snap-on 1/2" . 600lbs on up. Then the drum will pop right off. For years I just banged them off with the dogbone and 2-1/2 lb hammer. Now days and after removing hundreds of these old Mopar rear drums I use just the impact gun as my swing and body is not what it used to be.

Never had one I had to heat or god forbid.... cut the rivits off!

  4. A little late reading this... Ha Ha. With all my MoPar lockheed hobby cars I will arc shoes all day long with my ammco machine to make me and my friends brakes safe! I would just hate to rear end a state ecology person because of fading brakes!!!

I like a rock hard and high brake pedal after a brake job.

Some times safe sense is better than dusty rules.

  5. Here are a couple pictures of the "Real" correct MoPar 1947-8 Chrysler 6" wide wheel trim rings and what they look like. These fit the heavy chassis cars C38 and C39 Chryslers- the Large bolt pattern. Factory Mopar stainless trim rings use jagged tangs around the outside that partially hold the trim ring to the wheels, then the hub cap covers the center raised portion of the ring.

I found these locally after looking for 30 plus years!

I'm not sure what the above trim rings are for. There are so many possibilities!
