  1. Hudson had two touring or phaeton body styles. The lower cut body was their "speedster" which is exactly what is on offer here.
  2. Have just learned these cars originally had a front valance panel under the bumper. Mine doesn't. Seems most other photo cars don't have one either. Anyone reproduce them? Can someone provide a good picture and or some dimensions of what this panel is like? Thanks.
  3. Thanks all. The car is home now and I'm replacing leaking front wheel cylinders from lack of use. My lady loves the car and you all KNOW that is critical in this hobby!
  4. Ethanol is causing a LOT of carb problems. If the carbs were rebuilt prior to modern viton tip needles, then new kits need to be purchased. WA-1 Carter kits are everywhere in the hobby.
  5. No offense here. This hobby MUST be a "big tent" including everyone if it is going to survive. Different strokes as they say. If its Mopar or any car, regardless of what class it falls into, I like it, although I've certainly had my fill of red '57 Bel Aires.........
  6. Regardless of year, the replacement top back curtain is done incorrectly - should have the DB set of 6 cathedral windows. Find out the actual serial number and then find out much more before committing on this one.
  7. Thanks all. Pacerman, the Nash Healey has Donald Healey's suspension, not from Nash. Only the drive train is Nash Ambassador.
  8. I had long admired these cars and done tuning and brake work on one years ago in my shop that I then drove to the customer's home 75 miles away. This one was offered to me in a trade for another collector car and couldn't resist. The 7 main bearing six cylinder with stick overdrive and a chassis by Donald Healey should be a pleasure to drive here in Texas.
  9. A nice $5-6000 car with the very rare DeLuxe wheel cover option. Those came in both "TERRAPLANE" and "HUDSON" imprinted script. You found a good one. Might just leave it in patina condition and drive it after a full engine, clutch (change Hudsonite) and brake service.
  10. A company in CA is advertising a torque tube stabilizer for the mid-50s Nashes and Hudsons. Are their claims about the product true or is this a gimmick item? Anyone purchased and can comment? Thanks
  11. Howdy, Just bought a '53 Nash Healey convertible. I'm new to Nash - this is my first but have owned many other collector cars. Is there any way to get a production record for a particular VIN through the Chrysler Historical that has those for Chrysler products? I'm figuring Chrysler ended up with everything from AMC from Nash. Maintenance parts supplier recommendations would be appreciated. Carb kits, fuel pump kits, suspension parts. I intend hobby /pleasure use of the car. Other suggestions? Thank you!
  12. Okay, now $225 and I'll pay the shipping. How about that?
  13. Had a fellow a couple of weeks ago saying his PayPal was "dormant" so may be the same guy. When I asked for pics of the parts - no more correspondence. Forget the name. Source was in the UK.
  14. Abel Vico found a 1937 Hudson 8 convertible without engine or transmission. He wants to do a proper restoration by installing a correct '37 H8 motor and trans. None to be found in his country of Argentina. Do you have? or know someone that can help? He is progressing nicely on the body work. Help a Hudson brother please? Abel Vico abelvico@yahoo.com His English is not perfect but adequate.
  15. So long as a few good folks are looking, I have hope for a couple rims. THANKS.
  16. Taking this back up the list while others are looking. My car sits on my lift "rimless". Any suggestions welcome.
  17. Close to fifteen years ago I spotted this pair of '51 Stude grilles in a south Texas collector salvage and brought them home. Never did buy a car to put them on so you may need them for your car. They are the nicest originals I have ever seen. There is NO heavy pitting. There are no mounting problems. There are NO cracks. There is some very fine pitting visible in the pictures. $250 and $25 for UPS in the continental USA. I'll cover the UPS over and above that for packing and actual shipping cost. PM or email me. Thanks, Wayne
  18. Texas welders have made, I suppose, hundreds of thousands of miles of oil field and refinery high pressure pipe lines. I would think they could do this. Opinions do run both strongly in favor of and strongly against trying to section into a split rim. I appreciate the addition of your opinion. Is there a name for the Ohio firm? I don't need a wheelwright, I need a "rim-wright".
  19. I have two badly rusted split rims on the 25" wheels of my late '17 Dodge Bros. touring. Am seeking to purchase two excellent original replacements. According to the DB club resource "Wood Wheels" application photo and serial number charts these are Stanweld rims on Hayes wheels. Actual ID is 24" and OD is 26+" with the tire seating at 25". I have four new 33 x 4 Lesters, tubes, etc. Leads /suggestions appreciated. Photos of the rim type follow.

  21. Bob and Dave, Thank you for searching. Currently disappointed of course and my touring remains standing on my shop lift immobile. Surely there are some 25s out there somewhere on which to install my $1500 tire order, right?
  22. This wouldn't cause a World War if no one brought it up and just live and let live. Maybe she and her husband want to end up with a resto-rod of which there are many hundreds in the AACA. I also think of 90% of all Model As that have innumerable options and upgrades so they stop and go down the highway and wonder why anyone thinks Henry built a good car when so few of them remain authentically stock. This couple may also like our lower-keyed, more mature approach to things versus the HAMB's rockabilly bar atmosphere. And Kim, take a look at Posie's rear spring offering for your car. Some lowering and very nice ride quality.
  23. I very much appreciate that you are looking and trying to help. THANKS
  24. It would help if we know what area of the country you live in to direct you to regional collector car salvage yards or parts vendors who might be able to help with your car's needs or perhaps even someone who may somewhat specialize in laate '30s Mopars. The standard answer today though is "keep watching ebay". Do purchase support literature for your '37 including the owner's manual, shop manual, parts books, showroom brochures, and perhaps factory photos. The Chrysler Historical Foundation can probably provide you with a build record document for your car for their $45 fee and at the same time they'll tell you what literature they have copies available. Enjoy the hobby with that car and nice to see another couple sharing interest.
  25. I ordered and have received 33 x 4 Lester blackwalls from Lucas Tire, Long Beach, CA along with flaps, "383" brass stem tubes and related hardware w/ nickel stem covers. They fit the couple of good original rims I have. As you also compute: 4" balloon doubled is 8, from 33" diameter is 25", the size of my rims. Your later car apparently has 24" rims.
