  1. Larry, I am a little confused. When I dissembled the cylinder there were no copper washers. My photo shows exactly what was in the cylinder (see my photo above) that I removed for the car. The only gasket was a rubber one which I believe is 2152. The kit I bought had one rubber washer and no copper ones. Maybe someone who has done a rebuilt can confirm what parts are required to do the job.
  2. Sorry about the photo. Hard to ask a question when nobody can see the numbers. Gerry
  3. While waiting for some more parts I was looking at a page in the parts manual relating to the cylinder I am going to assemble when I noticed it showed two parts #2151 & 2152. I cannot find anything that identify's what these parts are. I am assuming one is the rubber gasket that was in the master cylinder when I dissembled the cylinder. This part came was also in the kit package Before I assemble the cylinder, can anyone explain what these two parts are.? Gerry
  4. I am also going to replace my wiring and while reading some post there are many suggestions on how to do it but nothing is ever mentioned about the wires that also need to go through the conduit. Generator , Coil Resisters.\and Water Temperature Gerry.
  5. zephydave. Will follow your advice. Thanks
  6. I have just finished rebuilding the Cylinder and am now I am ready to Bench Bleed it. I have watched a few YouTube videos on how to do it but am a little confused on one part. It seems a lot of people used a bleeding kit. After hooking up the nipples and the plastic tubing, they put the tubing back into the cylinder and they pump until all the air bubbles disappear. What I am asking is once the disconnect the nipples and the tubing does the air not get back into the cylinder.? Gerry
  7. 19tom40 Now that you explained were the long studs go. It now makes sense to me. Thanks
  8. I understand there are 22 Studs for each side on this engine, 13 long and 9 short. Can someone tell me which numbers are long or which ones are short. Gerry
  9. Always nice to have a back up supplier for parts. Thanks
  10. Tom, I appreciate the advice and will follow you instructions. If I have to buy one I will use Rock Auto.
  11. Roy, I did every thing to remove the outer ring. Heat, Blaster fluid. Nothing worked. When I removed the Cylinder I used a round piece of wood to activate the plunger and it was quit strong. Before giving up I filed the Cylinder with Brake fluid and gave it three pushes in and out and to my surprise all the inner parts came out. Here is a photo of all the used parts. The one part was caked on with rust as you can see the pile of rust just above it. I will be sand blasting the main body and installing the Master Cylinder kit. Gerry
  12. Roy, Seeing I have nothing to do and will possibly have to get a rebuilt one. I might as well try and move the outer ring. I will let you know what happens.
  13. While waiting for parts to be delivered I decided to rebuilt my Master Cylinder. After removing the Stop Light switch I am at a lost as how to remove the inner parts. There is a round ring attached to the main body and I was wondering if this has to be removed in order to carry on. Has anyone ever rebuild their Master Cylinder.? Gerry
  14. 38ShortopConv You have set my mind at ease. I thought for sure there was going to be a bigger problem. Will be installing the bath tomorrow, Thanks for the quick reply. Gerry
  15. 19tom40 I started to install the oil bath and ran across a problem. From what I can remember I originally had only removed two Oil Lines. The first photo shows were they were connected. I was totally confused until I went to the engine I had just removed and noticed one of the holes had had a plug in it. I went back to the photo you posted, explaining were each connections are to be made and now I am now stumped. There are only two connection on the Oil Bath and a drain plug on the bottom. All comments welcomed. Gerry
  16. Vintage1 I will keep this supplier on file for any further needs. Thanks Gerry
  17. 38ShortopConv I was thinking lock washer but I noticed that they do spell out different type of washers when required. 351448 special spring washers 351459 special flat washers 351469 spring washers I am going to use plain stainless ones C Douglas Johnson Jr. I was looking at Page #83 & 322 and there is nothing indicating what type of metal the part is used on.
  18. Getting all the parts ready to install cylinder heads. I have all the nuts. When I looked up for what washers I needed, this is what I found in the parts book. Part #351428 S7 I looked the part up it read 7/16 (3/16 x 1/8) Special Plain Washer What is special about these Washers.? Gerry
  19. 38ShortopConvI I have raised the float up and down many times and I could hear it hit the bottom of the pan. but did it go in it's proper slot. That I don't know and by looking at the height it sits without oil in the pan I thought I would post the question.
  20. Larry, Before installing the engine I double checked that the oil float went into it's slot. I am now going to connect the filter and add oil. Thanks
  21. With the engine in. I just started to install the intake manifold when I looked at the oil Gauge and was wondering if it was installed the right way. I had installed a MELLING 19 Pump and had made all the necessary changes to the pan. I can lift it up and down and it stops as shown in the photo. Gerry
  22. Tom, I only wish we had AutoZone up herein Canada but we don't. When ever I visit the USA that's the first store I head to. All are parts store do not have this part Colin, I thought I had tried every which way to get it to fit but gave up. After reading you reply I went back and I can't no believe it but by moving it around as you suggested It now fits. Thanks to all for answering my post.
  23. Tom, As far as I know there are no parts house's up here were I live. Markham Ontario Canada. Just outside Toronto. If any Canadian member knows of a place let me know. I will probably have to order one from Boos at a cost of CDN $48.00 plus shipping. Thanks
  24. Just The info I was looking for. Off to buy the nut Thanks Guys
  25. Abe I also could not find any hole. I am glad that I was looking, as I found a problem with the gasket, I now have to make some phone calls to buy a gasket.
