dwollam
No one else noticed this is a 60's-70's Mopar dual trans bolt pattern bell housing? (with the orange paint) I think the other is for a pickup. Dave Edited December 17, 2018 by dwollam (see edit history)
JACK M
Good eye dwollam. You have to be careful with the Mopar bellhousings as there is three sizes of the big hole. (bearing cover sizes are different) 4.35", 4.81", The dual bell to tranny pattern is not uncommon. You may be right about the truck bellhousing, It would probably be for a granny tranny. The offset bottom hole fits the A833s. (mostly close ration four speeds, some 3 speeds as well). I like the A833s that are overdrive. They have a pretty wide ratio spread. They were first introduced in1975 in light pick ups and some cars, the bellhousing for those have a huge big hole. 5.125" The Lakewood scattershields come with a ring that shims that hole. These A833s are very sturdy trannys. I might add that the big block and small block bellhousings do not interchange. Pete in PA
I didn't see this thread when it was originally posted. The bellhousing with orange paint is definitely late 60s/early 70s vintage. There should be a p/n cast into the back where the transmission mounts.
