STAYGOLD
Hello, Looking to try to figure out the original usage for these wood floorboard sections. I believe these are sections that mount at somewhat of an angle, in between the floor and firewall as the piece with brackets has an angle cut on one side. I also think these are for the driver's side, as the smaller piece has a hole cut in the center... possible for the steering column. They are a true 1" thick oak, and the larger piece measures 21" across. I know it's probably a long shot, but any information on them would be great. Thanks for your help. 1912Staver
That is the dashboard and windshield base for a circa 1908 car. There will be a sheetmetal cowl that the two pieces of wood sandwich. I will see if I can find a photo. Greg in Canada

1912Staver
Roughly, yes. The car in the photo has a flat wood firewall without a metal cowl shroud. But definitely along the right line.
1912Staver
More like this, except this car doesn't have a separate dash. They just mount the coil box to the top floorboard {kickboard}. Greg
1912Staver
If you removed the coil box from the green car above and fitted the OP's dashboard in its place you would have the complete picture, I just can't come up with one on Google that shows that exact set-up. The two metal braces would probably run forward and attach to the top of the firewall. On the blue car there is a upward extension to the firewall to mount the windshield. These parts would have come from a car with a firewall whose contour would match the hood shape. The metal cowl allows the windshield and dashboard to be mounted a little further back and closer to the driver. Greg
Gunsmoke
The dimension of the longer piece at 21" suggests perhaps from a speedster or other single seat type car with very narrow windscreen. As such may be custom made for a modified car.
STAYGOLD
Thanks for everyone's input. I would have never thought that these parts would have been what they are.
